  1. That’s what I took from the article. Unless you can bring a substantial amount of revenue with you to the SEC, you are just making everybody’s piece of the pie smaller. Texas and OU made sense because the SEC now has the lion’s share of the Texas CFB TV market. They also get OKC but OU has more of a fan base in DFW than they do in their own state.
  2. What does this mean for the the other conferences? I think everything stays stable for now or at least until Notre Dame decides. SDS sources: SEC wants to end expansion race, stay at 16 teams WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM
  3. That uniform is blue and black just like this dress.
  4. I was at this game in Pullman. Probably the worst game of Ifo’s career. He got worked all game.
  5. I’ve been to Lubbock several times. I was even at the Texas game in 2000. They had a nice little indoor tailgate building. In fact, the Raider Wrap (bratwurst wrapped in a tortilla w/cheese) has been a camping staple for me since that day. Lubbock a fun place if you’re young, but it smells when the wind blows in a certain direction. I have the Red Raiders in an upset if the smell is too pungent. Unless, of course, if Shough is still their QB
  6. This should render all tradition null and void.
  7. It would be a stretch. Eugene isn’t even anywhere near SE Oregon.
  8. Cota had a good Spring game, but it was against a bunch of guys in a new defense who were 2nd and 3rd string last season. He still ran good routes and caught the ball well. Let’s see if it translates to the regular season. The jury is still out. As far as Winston goes, I’ll say the same thing I said about Cota when he hit the portal. He should be offered the opportunity to walk on. He hasn’t done anything at his past school to deserve a scholarship at Oregon.
  9. That’s because they had Helton and he couldn’t recruit. Riley will have them in a much better position.
  10. I will say this. As a football fan I look forward to the USC/Ohio State conference championship games. I have bothered to watch a Ohio St/Sacrificial Lamb Big 10 championship game in years.
  11. By staying in the Pac 12 (if there is anything left of it) Oregon can be the Oklahoma of the past 5-7 years. Win an easy conference and slide into the playoff. The only problem is Oklahoma got beat down every time because they weren’t battle tested. But, at least they had a chance. It would depend on how they’re ranked in the pre-season. I know I stated earlier that Norte Dame needs to join the ACC to survive, but after looking at their situation critically, they’re the only team that has made the playoff without the burden of playing a conference championship game. If they join the Big 10 they’re likely to have long waits between playoff appearances.
  12. At the end of the day, the college football Gods/Goddesses will final a way to get the “big money” teams pooled to maximize TV revenue. Just like the NFL. Where does Oregon football fall in this scenario? Probably somewhere North of the Cleveland Browns.
  13. As I have state before. Why not take the whole West Coast TV market? It’s not about records or skill. Rutgers and Maryland proved that.
  14. I think Oregon and UW go to the Big 10. Wilner has Tweeted that they’re not done expanding. Both teams basically give the Big 10 the entire West Coast TV market. If they can nab Stanford and ND then that gives them The Bay Area and Chicago. This would make two super conferences. ND has to see the writing on the wall. Join a conference or be left to rot. It would also put them in the same conference as two of their big West Coast rivals.
  15. I have to agree with you here. He pulled Oregon out of a very dark place following the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He put a Rose Bowl trophy in the case and loaded the roster. There’s no good way to leave your former team for another school. It was disappointing, but at least he didn’t clean out the roster like a certain Oklahoma coach did. That said, every coach who has left Oregon has failed at their next job (Belotti included). I think Miami will be nationally relevant again because they have made a financial commitment to football. However, I think the guy who follows Mario will be the one who takes them to a championship level.
  16. UGA is a lot like Alabama in that they just re-load. They’ve been like that for a while, but they’ve been somewhat overshadowed. I think now that they’ve broken through we’ll see them put a few more trophies in the case. I think Kirby has done a good job of developing talent on his coaching staff as well as his players. The big thing UGA has going for them next year is Bennett. Not having to replace a championship QB and team leader is huge.
  17. I’m not ready to give up on Butterfield just yet. He may not start the season, but I think we’ll see him at some point.
  18. I was at the U.S. Women’s Open last week wearing an Oregon shirt. Some guy comes up to me and says “I hate your shirt”. I looked at him and said “You must be from Washington “. He then lifts his foot up to show me his purple shoes with the big white W on them. I didn’t need to see his shoes. I could smell him. We had a good laugh about it, though.
  19. Even if Hout didn’t say anything racist I still agree with the punch. For no other reason other than I am a sore loser.
  20. The original mallard head helmets from 1999 season started it all. Every evolution after that was “copy cat”
  21. The Ducks have done more with less. I hope this young man fulfills his dreams of a 2nd place PAC 12 finish.
  22. There are a ton of great points on this forum, but here’s another opinion from me: I think the PGA’s tradition is right up there with the NCAA’s tradition. Meaning, the sports world has evolved and they had better catch up. I don’t see the majors immediately siding with the PGA tour. They’re smart to play the waiting game. It’s in their best interest to have ALL of the top players in the world at their tournaments. Anything less would be a watered down version of their past greatness. One thing that hasn’t been brought up is television revenue. I would look for a media company like Fox to jump on LIV. They have a history of taking chances, so this is right up their alley. If LIV gets a television deal then we’ll see the PGA start to make some changes.
