  1. Good point, one I hadn't thought of.
  2. Is the underlying data from the research firm SBRnet credible? They propose that UCLA is the most popular football team in eleven western states. GIGO. https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/ojb31/2/
  3. Reclaim UCLA, add SDSU and wave goodbye to the spoiled children. Let them play every home game at night and travel 2,000 miles for every away game.
  4. Isn't the SEC negotiating a new media contract right now? I imagine Texas and Oklahoma have already been required to grant media rights to the conference.
  5. I wonder if Oregon is slow playing him right at the moment. I don't know how many D-linemen they plan to take this cycle but the Ducks are listed as favorites for a couple prospects with higher ratings and better offer sheets.
  6. Live updates from the Pac-12 media day event. Kliavkoff started off strong. Canzano is updating the opening statement every few minutes. Keep checking.
  7. It certainly helps recruiting to have a booster (and relative) reportedly willing to spend $10 million on NIL.
  8. Didn't Nebraska enter at a reduced share? I don't think they have ever been competitive in the B1G.
  9. The more quotes I see from Kevin Warren the less I think of him. But I come out of the NFL for 21 years. In the NFL, either you succeed or you fail, and that's not only on the field. I’m talking about in business, operationally. How many stories have you read about NFL franchises going out of business, their owners take a financial beating?
  10. Although it hasn't yet been updated the ChileDuck Depth Chart linked in the Repository section of this website is also a valuable resource. https://web.nmsu.edu/~ogden/oregon/depthchart.html
  11. Doesn't Oregon already have a small, quick receiver in Seven McGee? Also Justius Lowe is reported to be quite fast and very elusive on the field. I agree it's always fun to take a player from the purple poodles but scholarships are limited and Oregon has more than ten receivers on scholarship (two seniors) and a couple highly rated recruits committed.
  12. I believe he was a walk on; high school teammate of Jonathan Flowe.
  13. More from Kevin Warren. Guess the LA pair will be playing a lot of night games at home. Securing two of the West Coast's top collegiate brands in advance of the Big Ten's new media rights deal potentially opens the league up to capitalize on the late-night TV window, giving the league four TV slots each Saturday instead of the traditional three. Warren said the league is "finalizing our deals" and added that he expects an announcement "sooner than later" on a new media rights deal that is expected to be in the neighborhood of
  14. No conflict for me--I don't have a sympathetic side.
  15. Don't forget Ted Tollner, Larry Smith, John Robinson (second edition) and Paul Hackett. Before Riley seven of their last eight coaches fired since 1982. The only exception snuck out of town under a thundercloud of suspicion and sanctions.
  16. Is that the reported amount from ESPN? If so it doesn't include revenue from other sources, like the Pac-12 network. I looked at the reporting for fiscal year 2019-20 (pandemic year). That broke out television rights fees as $96 million from 'Network' and $265 million from 'conference' for a total of $361,867,380. Any financial experts care to translate the numbers? Pac-12 announces 2019-2020 financial results PAC-12.COM Consolidated revenue reported at $534M with total distributions at $403M, increases of 1% and 4% year-on-year Seven-year period since start of ESPN and Fox partnerships and launch of Pac-12...
  17. I'm confused. The ACC, Big 12 and Pac-12 members received roughly 50% revenue compared to the B1G and SEC. Conventional wisdom said there was no way they (ACC, Big 12, Pac-12) could compete--they were doomed. Given the above how does a new conference member become competitive if relegated to a 50% revenue share? Don't the same financial parameters apply?
  18. Dante Moore, Detroit, MI 5* Ashton Cozart, Mound, TX 4* Dante Dowdell, Picayune, MS 4* Tyler Turner, San Antonio, TX 4* Colin Gill, Washington D.C. 3* Nearly half of our commits are from regions where Oregon doesn't have a "presence". Granted it is easier if they visit an area every year but keep it in perspective. A quick glance at the current roster shows about 34 players from outside the Pac-12 footprint.
  19. Can Caleb Williams avoid injury or illness? Miller Moss is #2 on the depth chart "Overall in 2021, he completed 8-of-13 passes (61.5%) for 74 yards with 1 TD and had 3 rushes for minus 14 yards (-4.7 avg)." After him are they looking at a true freshman?
  20. Until your post I had basically ignored information regarding the BA.5 variant so I started looking. Hopefully CNET is sufficiently apolitical (if not delete this post) and the article is both recent and informative. Another COVID Wave Is Here: What to Know About BA.5 WWW.CNET.COM A new, more contagious version of omicron is causing high numbers of COVID cases and a rise in hospitalizations.
  21. Absolutely has to be a hoax.
  22. From a goducks.com bio... The program’s recent plug-and-play success can be traced to Kelly’s first season in Eugene, when Oregon was forced to start four different quarterbacks over the final four games due to injury in 2007. Kelly, then serving in dual roles as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, tutored the final signal caller of that bunch, redshirt freshman Justin Roper, who turned in a near flawless performance in guiding the Ducks to a 56-21 Sun Bowl win over favored South Florida. The 48-year-old Kelly served as New Hampshire’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 1999 through 2006, where his offenses averaged better than 400 yards of total offense in seven of his eight seasons and more than 30 points a game in his final four years. As a result, three Wildcat players received first-team All-America acclaim each of his last two seasons in the Granite State.
