  1. I'm certainly not an insider and I heard about an endowment at least a decade ago. My feeble memory says the total started with a "b" and his net worth has certainly increased since then.
  2. Wasn't he the QB coach during his stint as OC under Bellotti? I seem to remember stories crediting him for the dramatic improvement of Dennis Dixon after working with him in the offseason.
  3. Somewhat worrisome he will only be an hour from the USC campus.
  4. The "intel" has a "my uncles brother-in-laws son was told" feel. Not buying it for a minute.
  5. In his defense that is roughly when his mother was hospitalized. She passed away last spring. A parent in critical condition is a distraction.
  6. Just to be clear your link was very interesting. Appears Sideline Sports has been around a while and has some legitimacy. You are correct that it is an extremely bold claim with a very tight deadline.
  7. Looks like they are hedging their bet.
  8. From Wikipedia The stadium and adjacent Brookside Golf and Country Club are owned by the city of Pasadena and managed by the Rose Bowl Operating Company, a non-profit organization whose board is selected by council members of the city of Pasadena.

  10. Additional changes in the WBB staff Moser’s departure comes a day after former Ducks forward Oti Gildon, who served as the director of creativity/student-athlete support for the past two years, was announced as an assistant coach at Seattle.
  11. According to the article San Diego has 20% of the TV sets as LA. Without the Los Angeles schools, the Pac-12 is down 5.7 million homes in its footprint. San. Diego has 1.1 million TV homes ...
  12. Echo's of Patrick Chung who turned 17 during his first fall camp at Oregon.
  13. Still a tough battle. For several weeks the majority opinion, among well-informed and credible recruiting experts, has been Haynes would choose Georgia, while 5-Star, running back, Richard Young would commit to and later sign with the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Richard Young to Alabama thinking has not changed with the decision by Justice Haynes. What is surprising is that Haynes is openly recruiting Young to join him in Tuscaloosa. By all counts, Richard Young is the No. 1 running back in the 2023 class. Not many lower-rated recruits work hard to get a higher-rated prospect in their position group to come to the same program. Alabama Football: Tide lands Justice Haynes, stunning Georgia BAMAHAMMER.COM Catching recruiting experts off guard, Alabama Football landed highly rated running back, Justice Haynes. It wasn't supposed to happen. Haynes is a Georgia...
  14. Not many athletes are announcing commitments right now as It is a recruiting dead period for another week. Coaches can't talk to recruits. Expect it to pick up in August.
  15. Financially Stanford doesn't need to beg, UCLA does. Current numbers are difficult to find but 20 years ago Stanford's endowment sat at $7+ billion with $300 million earmarked for athletics. The total endowment is now over $41 billion with great returns. Assume somewhere around $2 billion is specified for athletics. UCLA has a $100 million athletic department deficit. Beggars can't be choosers.
  16. I imagine the global increase in the price of fuel, both gasoline and airline, is a major factor.
  17. Oregon is really not lacking resources, they suffer in part because the perception of the league is weak. They don't perform well OOC. How does unequal revenue distribution help the lower half of the conference become competitive?
  18. It wasn't that many years ago that Oregon State was nicknamed the giant killers and Oregon desperately needed equal revenue sharing to maintain an athletic department. Is it truly a league if one or two schools demand unequal shares?
  19. Entry into the B1G may be the equivalent of the fabled Trojan Horse. At first celebrated as a great victory before leading to total destruction and the ash heap of history.
  20. Gotta give credit to Georgia for their OOC scheduling. Clemson and Ohio State in the same year? Georgia football schedule: UGA’s future nonconference games are insane UGAWIRE.USATODAY.COM Looking at Georgia’s future nonconference schedules through 2034.
  21. The dead period runs from June 27 to July 24. During that time coaches are not allowed to have any in person contact with recruits or their parents. It's difficult to arrange or confirm visits without speaking to the athlete so any visitor list would be unreliable.
  22. Blasphemy about Harvey Mudd? US News ranks them at #28 among liberal arts colleges so maybe mom has a right to be proud. In addition they also have a sense of humor..."Harvey Mudd is one of the country’s top math, science and engineering undergraduate colleges. The school offers a variety of student organizations on campus, from the break-dancing club to the Harvey Wallbangers Climbing Club, among others."
  23. Thank you. I had skipped the article when I saw it on Oregon Live. It would have been my loss if you hadn't brought it to my attention this morning.
