  1. Reading between the lines it seems Oregon is gaining momentum. From the start of a premium post by an insider on a Gamecocks forum "Sometime after midnight EST, there seemed to be a tide turn...". Another member posted "The tea leaves appear to have taken an 11th hour turn west for this young man's services. Bummer. I hate nike." and "They have sources on coaching staffs. Harbor has already told all of the coaching staffs of his decision. All the schools know." All speculation at this point but the above were posted within the past couple hours. A glimmer of hope.
  2. So any signing tomorrow will be a surprise? Am I forgetting an unsigned commit?
  3. Freaky Five-Star Nyckoles Harbor Reportedly Down To Two Schools BROBIBLE.COM Nyckoles Harbor may be the most freakishly athletic high school football prospect in the last decade-plus. The five-star out of Archbishop Carroll High
  4. This could be a big loss for the Huskies, who recently raised his pay to $2 million. Doesn't 'Bama also need to name a new starting QB? Nick Saban reportedly meeting with top Pac-12 coordinator about Alabama OC vacancy - Footballscoop FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM Ryan Grubb helped Washington jump from 72nd to 1st in passing in one year. Could he be on the move to Tuscaloosa?
  5. I guess I just don't see the urgency, especially if the Pac-10 are of one mind. Obviously nice from a fan perspective but that is about it. San Diego State may be in play but losing them would only have a minimal impact some years down the road. I would rather get the media rights contract done right than done fast Champaign Larry got the Pac into a bad contract, it appears the same happened to the ACC. The stampede to realign conferences has slowed to a crawl. Kliavkoff has time negotiate the best deal.
  6. Wonder if this could factor into the decision. The Jim Harbaugh-NFL drama may not be over after all - Footballscoop FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM More than a week after confirming his return to Michigan, Jim Harbaugh met with the Denver Broncos.
  7. Interesting items from Football Scoop this morning. A Chargers: Former Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is expected to speak with the Chargers for their offensive coordinator opening, per Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. Dallas Cowboys: Kellen Moore will not return as offensive coordinator. His replacement is already in the building.
  8. What would replace it, a consortium of the SEC/B1G? I agree the NCAA is bloated, ineffective and barely superior to nothing but I haven't seen a viable alternative.
  9. Spending a full year simply going through the motions in college still gets a first round pick and millions of dollars? Maybe that explains why I haven't followed the NBA since the Clyde Drexler Blazer teams.
  10. Nailed it! I've gone from attending the games live and then heading home to stay up late and watch a replay during the Kamikaze Kids era to not even turning on a televised game in the 5* era.
  11. "Sometimes you, sometimes me, always us" was the epitome of an Altman coached team. I'm not sure he even enjoys coaching the player who is making the obligatory stop before the NBA. He can't be happy with the product on the floor the past couple years. I know next years class glitters with all the five star rankings. It will be interesting to see how they perform. Jackson Shelstad may be exactly what Oregon and Dana need, a player in the Pritchard/Brooks mold who is a gym rat who demands excellence from others. Let's hope so.
  12. The smoke is getting thick, a second interview anticipated. New England Patriots reportedly pursuing Oregon's Adrian Klemm - Footballscoop FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM After utilizing a figure-it-out-on-the-fly approach to offensive coaching in 2022, Bill Belichick is browsing the college ranks for a more traditional approach in 2023.
  13. Not safe at all. Patriots interviewing potential O-line coach after hiring Bill O’Brien WWW.MSN.COM The Patriots interviewed University of Oregon associate head coach/offensive line coach Adrian Klemm for their offensive coordinator vacancy last week. Klemm didn’t get the job, but he...
  14. A problem with any of the purported valuations and NIL agreements is they don't include a time frame. For example the $13 million for Rashada was over the length of the agreement. Was that three years? Four? Five? Are they pro-rated to escalate each year? Is the $450,000 valuation for a high school senior or projection for a third year starter in college? Not nearly enough transparency in the wild west of football recruiting these days.
  15. I question whether the B1G will keep divisions. The obvious geographic split would reduce obvious 'prime time' games between the LA newcomers and the traditional powers of Michigan, tOSU and Ped State. Is a slate of UCLA vs Northwestern type contests really worth a billion dollars each year to the networks?
  16. Fox Sports is one of the primary partners in the B1G $billion annual contract. Would you be comfortable with an entity that is obligated to pay you hundreds of millions each year drawing the following comment? FOX Sports has a business to run. Amid cord cutting and regional sports networks teetering on bankruptcy, the network is under increasing pressure to reduce expenses. Canzano: FS1 remote broadcast rankles Pac-12 WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Part 1 of a series on Pac-12 basketball.
  17. Interesting. The rule has been on the books since 2010 with a revision in 2017. Surprised I've never seen it even mentioned in the last dozen years and I follow recruiting far more than I should. I don't subscribe to The Athletic but here is another site with an explanation. How an NCAA DI Coaching Change Can Affect an Athlete's Scholarship - Informed Athlete INFORMEDATHLETE.COM When an NCAA DI coach quits or is fired, even student-athletes who believe their guaranteed scholarship is safe may be in for disappointment and frustration.
  18. Is there anything cited to confirm this alleged rule? I accept very little simply because someone says it is true and generally try to verify. It very well may be fact but initially is doesn't pass the (censored) test. I'll dig deeper when I have a bit more time but a quick check didn't even hint at such a regulation. Obviously I'm skeptical. Can you provide more information?
  19. Wah! Wah! Wah! I'm getting picked on. Not fair. Wah! Wah! Wah! I want my mommy. Didn't finish either piece. What a bunch of drivel. If they think back to back road games on the west coast are unfair wait until they are scheduled in Wisconsin, Minnesota or Michigan in late November with a 4,000 mile round trip. At least they have their millions to keep them warm. Are we sure we can't kick them out this year?
  20. Maybe not related but his son is leaving Sheldon High School to play in Southern California. Not happy in Eugene?
  21. Chip should be fired if he doesn't get double digit wins. His three toughest games are on the road but no Oregon or Washington. UCLA BRUINS Sept. 2: Coastal Carolina Sept. 9: at San Diego State Sept. 16: North Carolina Central Sept. 23: at Utah Sept. 30: bye Oct. 7: Washington State Oct. 14: at Oregon State Oct. 21: at Stanford Oct. 28: Colorado Nov. 4: at Arizona Nov. 11: Arizona State Nov. 18: at USC Nov. 25: California
  22. Colson Brunner - Football WILDCATSPORTS.COM Colson Brunner (52) Long Snapper - 2021: Served as central’s long snapper during his freshman season
  23. For a long snapper anonymity is a good thing. Off the top of my head I can't name the Duck long snapper graduating after playing four (five?) years in Eugene. Did his job well so he didn't make the news.
  24. I'm wondering if Cam McCormick was encouraged to look elsewhere. After seven years Oregon no longer had an obligation to provide a scholarship and a number of difficult decisions must be made to get the the magic 85 limit. All accounts I've read indicate incoming freshman Kenyon Sadiq may be underrated even as a high four star and of course Nyckoles Harbor is still in the picture. Dillingham seemed to place a lot of emphasis on the tight end position, does Will Stein do the same?
