  1. The NCAA limits roster size to 105 players until the first game or the start of classes after which it increases to either 115 or 125 (NCAA rules are difficult to find). Scholarships are limited to 85 so the vast majority of D-1 teams will have between 20 to 40 non-scholarship players each year. Although it is possible for a walk on to perform well enough to earn a full ride is is extremely rare, those that rise to stardom are few and far between. There is a reason everybody knows Stetson Bennet was a walk on---it is a story that is newsworthy, certainly not the norm. Maybe Brock Thomas will defy astronomical odds but I think it highly unlikely.
  2. Jim Harbaugh is staying at Michigan - Footballscoop FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM Michigan's annual nightmare is over for 2023.
  3. Interesting timing for Keanu Williams, the portal window closes Wednesday and doesn't reopen until May. Is a player allowed to sign outside the authorized portal dates?
  4. The 247 link in the original post lists him as a walk on.
  5. Sources confirm Oregon adding Tulane defensive coordinator to staff - Footballscoop FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM Sources confirm Dan Lanning is adding Tulane defensive coordinator Chris Hampton to the staff.
  6. Although many of the guidelines on NIL are set by state laws generally performance based incentives are prohibited. 'Pay to Play' is still technically against the rules.
  7. How long before a states income tax rate starts factoring into an athletes choice of schools?
  8. Some comments on Georgia boards that he reportedly almost left mid-season due to home sickness. Seems several posters expect him to end up at one of his home state Florida schools. Committed to Ohio State then changed his mind a few months later. Enrolled at Georgia and changed his mind a few months later. A true freshman is just a kid so not surprising.
  9. Excellence with humility, a combination that is all to rare in this day and age. The story was great and the subject even better.
  10. Maybe, but with all the pain he endured and the effort he gave to rehabilitate himself from multiple injuries I seriously doubt that is the case
  11. Sorry to see him leave but I can't be mad at the young man, he gave his all for the team. Maybe Oregon doesn't offer a doctorate program in his chosen field?
  12. He will be nearly 2,500 miles closer to childhood friends and family.
  13. Apparently the rules were changed to allow #25 (Reese) to set a moving screen virtually every trip down the court.
  14. All-American Bowl Practices: Ranking the Quarterbacks - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Several blue-chip quarterbacks are in San Antonio for the All-American Bowl. On3 ranks the signal callers after the week of...
  15. Hmmmmm https://footballscoop.com/news/jim-harbaugh-and-michigan-are-reportedly-under-ncaa-investigation
  16. It doesn't say what position but a blurb from Football Scoop Oregon: Dante Bartee, who spent last season as the defensive coordinator at Ottawa University (NAIA - KS), has accepted a position as a defensive assistant with the Ducks.
  17. Turn out the lights, the party's over. Darn.
  18. Is that 2-6 for the B1G plus LA? Go Utes
  19. Hmmm, a 76 yard touchdown to a 6'4", 215 lb WR with 4.4 speed. Aren't we discussing a potential recruit with similar assets?
  20. Sonny Dykes was fired by Cal Berkeley because he didn't win. Look at him now. Maybe Wilcox doesn't get the credit he is due.
  21. IF that is an accurate quote by the Michigan writer (color me skeptical) is is obvious he has never visited Oregon.
  22. NCAA rules require a scholarship be charged to football if a two sport athlete plays a single snap. Further men's track is only allowed 12.6 scholarships. You can't give a full ride to a single athlete in track unless he is a Steve Prefontaine level performer.
  23. Is Harbor an outstanding football player or a freakish athlete who happens to play football because he is really to big to be a track sprinter? I'm not talented enough to evaluate film highlights.
