  1. "No one is talking much which makes me think the Bruins have a real chance to flip him." Doesn't that translate to 'I have no idea but speculation gets more clicks and clicks mean money'?
  2. And one we all expected. Oregon defensive back Jonathan Flowe enters transfer portal Oregon defensive back Jonathan Flowe enters transfer portal - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Oregon redshirt freshman defensive back Jonathan Flowe, a former 3-star recruit, has entered the transfer portal.
  3. Deservedly so. Oregon State rewards Jonathan Smith with new deal after 9-3 season WWW.ESPN.COM After leading the resurgent Beavers to a 9-3 record, Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith agreed to a new six-year contract that pays $30.6 million for the life of the deal.
  4. First transfer commit is a LB from Iowa. Four star out of high school, reportedly has speed, seeing reports he was injured last year.
  5. Oregon Football: LB Jackson LaDuke announces transfer to Nevada DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Former Oregon LB Jackson LaDuke is heading to Nevada to joining Ken Wilson, the former Ducks’ LB coach who recruited LaDuke to Eugene.
  6. When a player commits and enrolls at that schools, fans who bought the card will receive a physical or web3 collectable version of the card. Fans of schools who lost the recruitment battle can turn the card in and receive 85% of their money back. “The thing that is most exciting for us is what our vision is, which is empowering athletes and fans to own the NIL space in a way that that serves a real need,” Prospex co-founder Patricia Eiting said. “The idea is that it’s this fun and engaging platform that helps athletes determine which schools are really going to step up and support them.” My cynical guess is the most exciting aspect is they skim 15% off the top plus it appears they can keep the money for nine months "until the athlete enrolls in school". They do cap it at 200 cards from any single individual ($20,000.00) to prevent "undue influence".
  7. Went back to the original 247 article and I believe you are correct. Pesky details derail an Auburn fan site narrative once again.
  8. Didn't Stein coach high four star QB and portal entry Hudson Card in high school? Card was class of 2020 at Lake Travis, the Stein bio says he was OC/QB coach at Lake Travis 2018-19.
  9. Question--do the portal entries play in the bowl game? Are they treated like seniors and participate even though they won't be here next year or do they say thanks and cut them loose? Fall term is over by the Holiday Bowl kickoff so Oregon has no obligation as I understand the rules.
  10. Obviously no idea if history is repeating itself but there were abuse allegations brought up when Klemm was hired. Not sure what happened with the various lawsuits. Jim Mora, Adrian Klemm, UCLA staff bullied injured players, lawsuits allege – Daily News WWW.DAILYNEWS.COM Bruin training staff failed to follow concussion protocols and denied exams for injured players, former players charge
  11. Brian Kelly referred to him as a "hard butt".
  12. Interesting comments in this Reddit thread
  13. From the Crepea article "A four-star prospect out of Scottsdale, Ariz., Walden was ranked No. 85 overall and No. 10 among offensive tackles in the 2021 recruiting class. He’s the seventh member of that class to leave the program." Glancing at the 247 rankings the seven transfers were all listed in the top twelve. So much for a top ten recruiting class.
  14. In the Gameday clip Corso says U$C was physically and emotionally drained after facing Notre Dame and UCLA. Remind anyone of OBD after UW and Utah?
  15. Math nerds should not be making football decisions any more than a head football coach should be making atmospheric re-entry calculations for NASA. End of story. Not necessarily true. Math whiz Nate Silver revolutionized baseball scouting using algorithms. From an old New York Magazine article. Furthermore, Silver himself invented a system called PECOTA, an algorithm for predicting future performance by baseball players and teams. (It stands for “player empirical comparison and optimization test algorithm,” but is named, with a wink, after the mediocre Kansas City Royals infielder Bill Pecota.) Baseball Prospectus has a reputation in sports-media circles for being unfailingly rigorous, occasionally arrogant, and almost always correct. How Nate Silver Went From Forecasting Baseball Games to Forecasting Elections -- New York Magazine - Nymag NYMAG.COM Nate Silver is a number-crunching prodigy who went from correctly forecasting baseball games to correctly forecasting presidential primaries—and perhaps the election itself. Here’s how he built a...
  16. Totally agree that it was targeting. Crown of the helmet hit his Rising's facemask in an upward motion which caused it to fly off. In addition I believe on the next play the Utah running back also took the crown of a helmet while being tackled. Oregon would have been down two players, University of $poiled Children no harm no foul. Good riddance, I look forward to see how well the Lincoln Riley offense performs in Minnesota in late November. They probably think late season games will be played in LA, after all they are USC!
  17. Oregon didn't even suit up yet we notched two victories.
  18. I don't get the fascination with Joe Brady. He caught lightning in a bottle for one year at LSU with Joe Burrows. His one offensive coordinator position in the NFL got him fired. Also I don't have high regard for someone who negotiates a new contract and bails to another job within a week. Memories of Mike White and Oregon softball. He may be fine but I don't see a track record that calls for backing up a Brinks truck.
  19. I know a lot of the portal entries are not scholarship players but if accurate these numbers are still eye opening.
  20. Disappointed we didn't get to see his skills in action. Every indication he is a classy young man and nice to see he completed his degree. I hope for his success at his next stop.
  21. There were many allegations of meddling when Jordan Addison transferred to U$C. Wonder if something similar is happening here.
