Very Interesting Take on Quarterback Development
Casey Mathews nearly knocked Cam Newton into tomorrow, caused a fumble and nearly stole us a championship!

Very Interesting Take on Quarterback Development
Great post! I’ve always been skeptical of the star system and USC has always been my best example of why. You see it all the time in basketball with supposed five star one and dones. Anyone remember Troy Brown? Louis King? Bol Bol? These guys just create AAU highlight reels dunking on each other without ever developing any real game. Give me a hungry Clubber Lang type three star with something to prove any day.

UCLA DC Hire: Chip Still Doesn't Get It
What Chip does get is millions of dollars every year to inflate his record against PAC 12 patsies while living the SoCal dream life without having to even try that hard. Smart guy.

"Oregon was Better than Miami" in 2001
The beauty of getting robbed that year is that now we’ll be able to talk smack until infinity.

Deal With It: Epic Oregon-USC Battles Ahead
It's a lot funner to hate a team when they are good.

Transfer Movement
I’m talking about the average guy in that 3000 player pool. There’s always going to be upper level guys looking for the perfect spot. I just think most guys that have a hard time finding playing time will continue to do so elsewhere unless they drop down to lower level competition.

Lanning Meets with Harrington: A Good Thing?
Lanning seems like a smart guy. He probably sees how much the community looks back at the days of long tenured coaches like Brooks and Bellotti. He probably knows that a few top level years from now, he could be looking at 8-9M a year or more for the next 10-15 years here with a fanatical fan base supporting him all the way. Or roll the dice somewhere else and have it not work out.

Transfer Movement
The portal craze honestly confuses me. With respect to playing time, if a player isn't playing much now, what makes them think they'll just win a starting spot somewhere else?

2022 Oregon Game Predictions: Fun Read
I agree. As the season moves along, the team should resemble Lanning more every game. Towards the end of the schedule, they should be running on all cylinders. Mario's teams so underwhelmed us week after week, we forget how much potential awesome lurks at nearly every position.

Lanning Meets with Harrington: A Good Thing?
I was on the Lanning train back when we were having the Wilcox vs Kelly debate. With that said, I like how the past players banded together and pushed for Wilcox in an attempt to keep the UO from chasing after some shiny new flavor of the month coach. I think they just wanted to make sure the Ducks brought in somebody who actually would care about the Ducks and not use them as a stepping stone. Connecting with former legends by the new staff seems like a great idea to me. I think it also shows that Lanning is here for the long term which should make all involved breathe a little easier. I think we should also be considerate of how the name "Civil War" effects recruits and players from other parts of the country that don't have local connections to the term. It's a phrase the we may not have political connection with but that may not be the case for outsiders you're trying to bring on to the team.

Two steps forward and an Evel Knievel rocket bike launch back. Yikes.

OSU 68 Oregon 62
I hope Duck fans are appreciating how lucky we are to get to watch Nyara Sabally play for this team. She's one of the best posts I've ever seen in the women's game. She should have a great WNBA career when she's done.

Believe it, Duck Fans: USC Is for Real
SC is heading towards “for real”. The Ducks are already there. We really need to utilize this head start. Ducks going 10-2 or 11-1 compared to an 8/4 ish SC, could make all the difference in up coming recutting battles for those LA 5 and 4 1/2 stars. if they appear to be even out of the gate like both going 9-3 ish, then SC could get the upper hand early and the LA well may go dry.

Lanning Or Riley?
Whoa, wait a minute! I thought the Fuskies were the reining undisputed off season champions every year!

Lanning About Tempo on Offense: "It Has to be a Weapon For Us"
I'm referring to his innovation on defense. He seems to have revolutionized a few attacking concepts with blitzing mutations. It sounds like both Lanning and Dillingham have embraced Chip's concepts of full speed creative offense as well.

Lanning About Tempo on Offense: "It Has to be a Weapon For Us"
I'm still trying to process what we actually have in coach Lanning. So far it looks like we may have the best of the recent coaches strengths. So far I'm seeing the defensive strength of Brooks ( those early 80's teams kept games close even with an awful offense), the organizational skills of Bellotti, the innovation of Kelly and the toughness of Cristibol. I can't wait till we get to see what it all looks like on the field. And remember kids, the guy hasn't even been the full time coach for a month yet and look at all that he's done.

WBB Oregon-Arizona: "Graves is a Bully, an Intimidating, Menacing Figure"
The menacing figure Arizona should be worried about is Nyara Sabally.
