Nice warm up game for the Ducks as a couple very good teams come to town next - Illinois on 01/02, and Maryland on 01/05. 12-1 and beginning to play some really good ball.

I'm amazed at what Dilly has done down here... and in less than two years. But unfortunately, and while I hope I am wrong, I am fairly confident that they are going to get rolled by Texas tomorrow. Regardless, Dilly & Co have had an amazing season. And their future looks bright. Alumni are very excited down here and are going to come up with the money to keep him.

If I was Cam Ward, with so much at risk, I would have simply completely passed on playing in that meaningless bowl game. However, to step onto the field with the apparent sole intent of breaking a record, and then leave your teammates hanging in the wind as you walk off into the sunset with your record and impending wealth, is my definition of bs. If your going to choose to step onto the field -- for your own glory, at least don't abandon your teammates in the process.

I appreciate that we are in the throes of winning a football National Championship, however, I'm hoping we can multitask just a little bit. Our Men's hoopsters are 11-1, ranked Top-10, have the best winning % in the Big Ten, and are just starting to gel and play as a team... in December! That usually doesn't start happening for our Altman teams until late February or March . So far, they've beaten 3 strong Top-20 teams, and the only loss has been to Top-20 UCLA. We've got two excellent Big Ten home games coming up, which fall perfectly between our upcoming January 1st Rose Bowl victory, and then our January 10th semi-final win. 01/02 - Illinois 9-2 01/05 - Maryland 10-2 Both of these teams are playing some excellent ball and these should both be great games. Illinois just lost to #1 Tennessee by 2. Let's make Matthew Knight Arena an actual home court advantage. If you can make it to the game, I hope you'll show up and support them. One thing I'm reminded of is that although we beat osu previously, we really did not play a great game. We left a lot of meat on the bone and made quite a few mistakes... and yet we still won. I think we will clean up the mistakes for New Year's Day, and we have a great shot at beating them for a second time this season.

Given what PSU did to SMU, and what OSU appears to be doing to Tennessee... It's looking like our Ducks might be kinda good.

Chip is now officially a mystery to me. What he did while head coach at Oregon was unprecedented at the time. Until Lanning came along, Chip's 86+% winning percentage was unparalleled at Oregon. I realize that he did things at that time that were groundbreaking in CFB. So, was he a great coach only while at Oregon, and then kind of lost the magic and sucked after that? Or was his 'new' type of football that he brought to CFB only good until the other teams caught up? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Who are we rooting for in this one? I think we'd handle osu again, but frankly, I would rather play tennessee.

I used to go to at least half of the away games, but haven't been doing that for years. Part of it had to do with there being too many schmuck fans out there. But this one definitely has my attention and might need to happen.

I haven't watched any SMU ball this year. I'll look it up, but is their QB a backup? It looks like the guy has hardly played a down of football all year.
