Game of the Year is On Now.
Ist 'big' upset of the season. But Ala is only favored by 14, and they're on the road.

Game of the Year is On Now.
Texas looks like it's on track to not only beat the spread but maybe even upset Ala. Of course, there's one more half + to go. I don't know if I'd call it the 'Game of the Year', tho.

Southern Miss
10-7 Miami at the Half. It took a very late drive before Miami finally scored to go ahead, with <20 seconds left.

EW! It’s Eastern Washington and We Need to Worry
Mine too. Until we beat them to do otherwise is not only un-sportsmanlike but risky. O will probably cover but really, what last week did anyone see to feel so confident that O can just walk thru this? 38-20 Oregon isn't unreasonable, 49-17 is probably more likely but 33-24 is not out of the question. EWU has a 5000 yard passer and a 1000 yard rusher.

Just For Fun - Let's All Guess
Let's hope! lol This guy did throw over 5000 yards last year. Im wondering if he was in camp when Cooper Kapp was on campus?

Eugene Air Quality
I'm seeing 163. I guess it's updated rapidly.

Just For Fun - Let's All Guess
Just to add a little fun to the mix: Let's have a guess at how many yards today's opponent EWU's Quarterback Gunner (love that name for a QB) Talkington will toss the 'ol prolate spheroid (that's football for most of us) today against the Ducks. This guy reputedly has a canon of an arm and our young secondary will be running all over the field trying to stave off the short, medium and long passes this guy can toss with precision. A strong pass rush had better show up today or this could be a very big scoring day for both teams. I'll kick things off with a guess that he'll throw 28 for 42 passes for 320 yards against our boys. I may be waaaay low on this. Or, maybe not.

WATCH: No Place Like Home...Football at Autzen
I think Bo (and Ty & Jay, if they play) had better keep their passes low like line drives. The receivers might lose sight of them in the smoke and haze if they're thrown with too much arc. Just kidding of course. Go Ducks!

EW! It’s Eastern Washington and We Need to Worry
Say, wasn't the All-Pro Cooper Krupp (last year's NFL 'Triple Crown" winner for most passes caught, most yards gained and most TD's scored) an Eastern Washington Eagle? And wasn't Vernon Adams from that program as well? Unless I'm wrong, this team does recruit talent. Maybe not nearly as much as Oregon does, but... a "cupcake" of an opponent? I'm not so sure. Oregon 38-20, maybe a little better. I hope the Ducks aren't looking past them and at BU. Just saying -

OBD Prediction Contest vs. Eastern Washington!
That's 7 TD's (I'm predicting 5 but you're probably closer to what might happen) but only 175 yards passing? So, Oregon is going to run over the Eagles I guess. Well, I kinda hope you're right 'cause I love long runs to the end zone. Go Ducks!

WATCH: No Place Like Home...Football at Autzen
Anxious to go tomorrow, anxious about going because of the smoke, fires and possible evacuations coming off the mountains from Hwy 58.

Oregon Ducks Football: Don’t Count Bo Nix Out Yet
Bo will probably do pretty well tomorrow, but that won't be much proof for me that he's the QB going forward. We need to see how he does against BYU and WSU first. I expect a lot of points to be scored tomorrow, maybe 38-20 ish, maybe more. We should see at least one (if not both) backups get some playing time tomorrow - if we don't that will really be disappointing.

Does The Transfer Clock Start Today?
It also came after a 1st down at mid-field after the ducks converted on 3rd down. If that pass is caught by Seven (or dropped) who knows how the 1st Qtr turns out? We were beaten soundly by a terrific team, but that play was a devastating blow to the Ducks early. TO's in the red zone always are.

Mickanen's Article a Sensible Analysis for Ducks Going Forward
Once again, I concur with you. Can you imagine what people (or players!) would think if the head coach of a team were to say something like this to his team? I can only concur that this individual you quoted was overly optimistic and extremely disappointed with the outcome. Well, we were all disappointed but most of us knew Georgia was probably going to beat us, a young team with a young coaching staff, on the road against a National Championship team. And this is only the first game!

Fabulous FishDuck Facts About Our Beloved Ducks from Oregon Athletics (Wowsa!)
Unless I'm mistaken, Charles, Oregon is typically one of the youngest teams in the FBS. I remember similar stats to this before. I'm not sure why this is but... it would seem to bode well for the team's future. Add to that one of the youngest coaching staffs in America and it says a lot, I think.

Does The Transfer Clock Start Today?
Whether we fans like it or not, the transfer clock is always ticking. As a young coach (and 1st-time Head Coach) Lanning is getting a taste of what it's like to balance the need for immediate performance on the field with a look to the long-term picture of the team's progress. Transfers like Nix are only temporary 'fixes'; not future, more permanent fixes that face every team in the collegiate ranks.

What to Expect Saturday vs EWU
I can't agree stronger with your sentiments, Haywardduck. But remember, Dan Lanning is now the Head Coach. It's time for Defensive Coordinator Tosh Lupoi to prove his worth in gaining Lanning's respect and his selection to that important position. I'm not dumping on Lupoi - tho I'm not a fan of his - but I am acknowledging his critical role in how our defense performs on the field. Lupoi has a golden opportunity Saturday to gets the Ducks back on track defensively. He does have talent at his disposal. Now show fans why Lanning thinks you're the man for this role. Go Oregon!

What to Expect Saturday vs EWU
They'll test our young backfield, that's for sure. We will need to see a pash rush get untracked too.

What to Expect Saturday vs EWU
Short answer: a good test of our defense. Justin Phillips, in his very good article posted recently gives us a pretty good idea of what EWU could bring to the table Saturday evening; a prolific passing game (over 5000 yards) and respectable running game (with a 1000 yd rusher). Additionally, they are currently ranked #13, albeit in the FCS. While most fans want to see our Offense get off the blocks, I'll be watching to see how Lupoi's Defense, especially our defensive backs, respond to a QB who can both run the ball and pass like crazy. It'll be a challenge, guys. What do you think? The Oregon Ducks Offense: The Bunch Toss
Sometimes it's in our failures we learn the secrets for success. If Dan Lanning and Kenny Dillingham are half as bright as we hear they are, they'll learn from this game a lot. Who knows, maybe the way this game came off will prove to be one of the real keys to success for the Ducks going forward. There's only two viable options: either the Ducks get better - or they get worse. I'm betting on the former.
