  1. Watching the SEC battle between Georgia & South Carolina on the Gamecocks home field with a sellout. And it's 45-0 at the end of the 3rd. Lest fans think Oregon sucks 'cause they lost 49-3 in Atlanta go back as watch this one if you have a chance. It's gonna take one h_-l of a team to beat Georgia. As bad as Oregon was beaten, they're a better team than South Carolina who's playing in front of their home crowd. Georgia is sorta special these past two years.
  2. Welcome to Oregon and Eugene. We're all looking forward to a good game today but, pardon me ... Go Ducks!
  3. Thanks Debbie! We can't wait either. GO DUCKS!
  4. Good edge players (or Force Defenders) help LB's get all those tackles they rack up for stats. It's teamwork, but the LB's get to lead the team in tackles. As long as the fans know how it all works and why just having good LB's is not enough for a team to stop the run.
  5. Well, that's nice, really. Now Ducks, go and thrash them Cougars!!
  6. You know, what would be fun is if someone had nothing better to do (and the software t do it) to compile all these score predictions and see what the average is and how close that average is to the actual score. By my count: 17 think Oregon, 7 BYU. That's as far as my "software" counts. I'm running out of toes & fingers.
  7. I'll buy you a pint next time I'm in Eugene if this turns out the case, Sunshine.
  8. Let's hope it is a good game and the Ducks, if they don't win this, were in it... all the way to the end. GO DUCKS!
  9. I love my Ducks, but reality seems in: BYU 31-24, Duck TO's: 2, Sacks: 2 I will be ecstatic to be wrong on this one!
  10. But after the 3rd game things become more of an 'observation' than a 'prediction'. By the end of this game I think O will have a pretty good idea (sans injuries) who, what, where and how this team is going to play entering Pac-12 season. Unless, of course, Lanning and staff are thinking this whole season is an experiment - which I doubt.
  11. A win, and the fans and players will love this. A loss ... and, well ... but I'll still like 'em.
  12. Dittos. This game will be the true indicator of where this season is going and where the Ducks really are. I agree with former Duck Dino Philyaw (his interview on KPNW radio this morning) that the Georgia game, scheduled before anyone knew Cristobal and his coaching staff such were leaving was an unfair matchup which caught the Ducks in the worst situation possible for a 1st game - on the road - National Champions. This game will really tell players, coaches and fans how this team is coming together and going to do, going forward. A loss won't be devastating, as long as the loss is a close one that could go either way. A win could propel the Ducks forward with a lot of momentum
  13. Not always fond of the various combos of colors the Ducks sport but this one works for me. Go Ducks! LOOK: Oregon Releases Uniform Combination for BYU WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The Oregon Ducks have unveiled their week three uniform combination on Thursday night and it's one that fans are very familiar with. The Ducks will wear their complete Nightmare...
  14. Once again, I repeat: these tutorials are what brought me to FishDuck in the 1st place. Excellent piece, Charles.
  15. 2 keys on Offense, 2 keys on Defense: O; Protect the ball & convert 3rd downs = Break tackles D, Stop the run & contain the pass = Make tackles
  16. Well...what can people expect? Rick Neuheisel, for one. Sorry if this offends anyone here but RN is a 1st-class jerk. And what are 'analyst's gonna say about Oregon after a loss like 49-3 to Georgia? But... they may have a point here. BYU is a team built to beat a team like the Ducks, they travel well and are absolutely not intimidated. by O They're the older, more mature team and well- balanced. I'm (sadly) picking BYU 31-24. Oregon learns more about where they are and where thy need to go to get better.
  17. From reading this article I'd say UM might be letting out his feelers and letting Nebraska know he's interested.
  18. If Justin Flowe is unable to play Saturday, that could be a real blow to Oregon containing BYU's running game. If their running game gets going, our young secondary is going to have a long, difficult game trying to contain the passing game. Someone will need to step up and fill the gap left by Flowe, like Jeffrey Bassa or Micah Roth, Jackson LaDuke or Keith Brown? I dunno. Roth has probably more playing time as a Junior College transfer than LaDuke or Brown have.
  19. GoDucks' Practice Report for Tuesday, Sept. 13 reported: "Former UO coach Mike Bellotti attended part of practice and spent a few minutes afterward chatting with Lanning. …" (goDucks.com/practicereport/Sept.13) Wouldn't I like to be a fly on the wall - or on the side of his hat - to hear what Coach Bellotti and Lanning had to discuss. I doubt it was the weather. Maybe just 'chatting' but maybe some good advice based on what Coach B sees when watching the practice sessions? It's kinda fun to speculate...

  20. Sans injury (Dennis Dixon) or transfer (Tyler Shough).
  21. I digress, but Fouts, if he had been on a complete team, would have won a Super bowl or two. I've been hoping like crazy his fate isn't repeated by Justin Herbert
  22. I believe they think they can exploit our D-line - and they might be right. It could be a shootout and I have much trepidation over that. BYU typically does very well in shootouts. 31-24 BYU. Sorry, but I gotta call it as I see it going. GO DUCKS!
  23. This play happened right in front of us where we were seated on the 7-yd line. This was a poor choice by Nix to force the throw, a muff by the Def. back and a great heads-up play by Ferguson. A very lucky play for the Ducks... a turnover here would have been huge for EWU. No doubt Ferguson is a good TE and a 'weapon' (as you say) for Oregon.
