  1. Probably dependent on what the opponent's offense is trying to do and what O's defense is doing to counter it.
  2. You're probably right. I'm not expert on these things. My ROKU TV is fairly new (last year's model) but I didn't watch the game. I guess it's just one more nail in the cable coffin and since we can't receive cable it looks like streaming is going to be the way we have to go for our games as well.
  3. No, they haven't which is great. They haven't gotten many sacks of their opponents either. That needs to change next Saturday. You just know Dickert will have Ward ready, cocked & locked to test that young secondary of O's.
  4. IDK (I don't know). I heard this morning on Markely & Van Camp there were severe streaming issues with Prime's Thursday Night NFL game. Pixelating, buffering, screen lock, etc, Maybe the technology isn't there yet? I don't know. And how many fans want to subscribe to Prime?
  5. I felt pretty strongly that after such a difficult start to the new "Lanning era" as going on the road to play the reigning National Champs was going to either make or break this team for the rest of the season. How Lanning was able to regroup this bunch of young men after such a thorough beating was remarkable. Having EWU (a decent FCS team) next was a lucky (?) break and he sure didn't waste it. He's not only regrouped them, he's inspired them. The Wazoo test next week will be very interesting as they go back out onto the road into a very hostile environment. I can't wait to see what happens.
  6. Their intensity. Lanning's lit a fire under them that was missing in their first game. I honestly think they were intimidated somewhat, esp after a couple of misfires. They're playing now like they expect to win instead of lose.
  7. Looking back at my earlier response to the question: "Could you live with that?" I guess I would amend that and say "yeah, if that's what it comes down to since cable isn't an option where we live." What other choice would I have? Satellite coverage has proved dismal due to mountains, trees and weather. It's to town or streaming for us.
  8. To which one Fox commentator responded "Not sure I'd want my starting QB to be doing that when up by 20" or such... It came after Lanning made his one booboo, removing Nix one series too soon.
  9. Best combined start for Oregon, Oregon St., Washington, Washington St. (taken collectively) in 90 years, said KPNW radio this morning. Take that for what it's worth -
  10. I don't think it's his ego that's too big. I think it's his overall team vision that's too small. I think he sees everything from the point of view of an Offensive lineman which is only a part of the big picture. The guy would probably make a great O-line coach/recruiter if that's all he had in front of him. He's a decent person, just in over his head, perhaps.
  11. Who knows (yet) - could be the major emphasis going forward with this new staff might trend towards D-linemen? Although, I believe Lanning is smart enough to know he needs quality on both sides of the ball. I suspect O will go after players to fill talent gaps wherever those gaps are.
  12. You could be correct, but the original intent of the Pac-12 network (Big-10, etc.) was to get as many conference games on TV as possible. Even the conference bottom-dwellers from each season deserve to be televised for their fan base. If it's not lived up to it's original intent, at least it was a try. (btw, Pac-12 Network is available on Sling Orange)
  13. Now that we have 3 data points how do you feel? It's still early in the 2022 season but the loss to Georgia has be salved a bit, esp with the man-handling of BYU. After next Saturday I think we will have enough 'data points' to assess this team fairly - we need this Pac-12 road game to complete that. WSU is a worthy opponent.
  14. Agreed. That's probably the best thing we learned Saturday: why he's the starter instead of TT or JB.
  15. Maybe Lanning can figure it out. I don't think Lupoi did at either Cal or Wash. Am I wrong you Pac-12 historians? Frankly, I can't remember well enough. Last thing we want is a shootout in a road game. Best that O should win 45-17 or such...
  16. SDSU? Sure, it would keep Oregon's profile in the invaluable southern California market (for recruiting), esp if UCLA moves with SC. And, they play an exciting brand of football. It's a big cash market, too.
  17. Most of our most productive linemen were recruited before this new coaching staff arrived, so it's to soon to make sound judgement on this, imo. That said, the way they have things going (right now, sans the Georgia game) it's looks promising. I guess we'll know a lot more in a year or two.
  18. For away games, I prefer to see our team take the opening possession - if they win the toss. For home game, I prefer to see our team take the deferral and start with defense.
  19. Because of where I live, cable is not an option, never has been. I'm only marginal when it comes to streaming expertise. For many years, it was Live at Autzen or the nearest pub or pizza parlor. (+30 miles). I'm just now learning how to stream and I'm finding it difficult to find the games I want on all the different streaming services (without having to subscribe to a multitude of them). So, short answer: No. Not yet.
  20. Seems we were on the same page with this at the same time.
  21. It's what a good QB (sans injury) is supposed to do in an offense like this. But, yeah, I give him credit for that and it's the kind of thing that helps build team respect for the QB and the willingness to do the same for others. This type of thing has got to be coach instilled.
  22. It looks like, unofficially, coach Locklyn might be 'winning' this unofficial poll. He's who I chose because of the impressive RB performance so far. But we need to keep in mind all the pieces to the puzzle that help a run game go: scheming, O-Line blocking, threats to the defense offered by a good cadre of TE's and WR's, play calling, a QB who can also run & throw ... etc. When the pieces begin to fit a lot of things in the Offense improve. Same on Defense.
  23. I think 6 points is fair. This is WSU's arena and a difficult one for Oregon in the past. WSU has 3 wins and one of them was against a Big 10 team on the road. They probably deserve a ranking.
  24. I think it's an interesting question but rather a moot point. Personally, I like Cristobal's leadership more but we didn't have Taggert around long enough to know whether or not he would have made better in-game decisions. The better recruiter? Probably Cristobal, but again, not enough evidence to judge. Ironic that both coaches dumped Oregon for their 'dream jobs', spoken or not. And in the end, Oregon will be better off without both.
  25. Seems we were thinking the exact same thing at the same time. It's something else we need to learn about our Ducks under this new Head Coach. Go Ducks!
