  1. This seems kind of funny because, when DL hired Samples, a whole lot of people questioned the decision. Now Samples seems to be a very hot commodity.
  2. Great play! And a great article David!
  3. WS is young and still learning. So is DL. Nobody expects a guy to be a well seasoned veteran after two years on the job. This year the Ducks went 12-0 in the regular season and 1-1 in the post season. We finished the season with more wins than the National Champions --- and one of those wins was against the National Champions. That is a pretty satisfying season. Next year DL will be a little better and so will Will. I'm sure glad we have them both.
  4. Great read. A whole lot of information without a lot of verbiage.
  5. Dallas can blame that D@%m grass in Eugene...
  6. DL's defense has been evolving since day one and still is. The players he had in year one were no where close to being able to execute what DL wanted to install. "Out with the old, in with the new." Year two we saw a huge turnover in personnel on defense, and a little more in year 3. Most of the high schoolers that DL has recruited over the last 3 years have yet to see any meaningful game time. Several of those will likely never see the field, as Dan is trying to find those who fit. I believe that we will not really see the defense that Dan envisions until year 5 or 6... maybe even year 7. Until then, I am going to continue to enjoy the ride... and the steady improvements in all three phases of the Ducks' game. '
  7. Agree. To me he was saying that it was so loud it was unbelievable (¿How could it be that loud without pumping in noise? - yet it was.) Maybe someone in the B1G will start believing that Autzen noise can actually affect the play on the field. I think the coaches are starting to think about it.
  8. Hmmmmmmm. I'm going to have to spend the evening scratching out the math...
  9. Both of them are real stinkpots.
  10. Why No Luxury Suites at Matthew Knight Arena? Simple: They knew that I would not be interested.
  11. 10 days seems to work well. More time to heal between games. More time to study and plan against the next opponent. Time for at least one more practice.
  12. Cignetti is a very good coach. The fact that he is prepping now for the toughest matchups he has next year during the regular season is smart. That is exactly what DL is doing. This is a very losable game for the Ducks, and they better go into it prepared for battle.
  13. How can you not like a guy named "SAVAGE" playing on defense??
  14. Big-10 Ted has been an Oregon fan for a while, me thinks.
  15. 13 wins this year. It would be nice to finish with 14 next year... especially if it includes a National Championship.
  16. Only if he goes to the Buccaneers.
  17. My brother-in-law played MLB for multiple years. When he married my sister, he was on a AA farm team in Florida. He could barely make ends meet on an AA salary. I GUARANTEE you that he will make a lot more on NIL money at Oregon. Another year at Oregon and his NFL draft stock will be way up there.
  18. If we split these two (very possible) we would be 11-1 regular season and possibly in the CC game. The Ducks just won 13 games this year... most in school history. Almost everyone was looking at the Rose Bowl this year as the de-facto championship game. If anOSU continues it's post Michigan march for two more games, who's to say that the Ducks weren't the second best team in the country this year???? Who's to say that we would not have beaten another team in the Rose Bowl if the tourney was seeded properly. Everyone with one voice said that anOSU should have been on the opposite side of the bracket from the Ducks.
  19. We chose to walk away from it, knowing what we were leaving behind and knowing what we were getting in the B1G. We thought (and still think) that what we were getting is worth what we left behind. Therefore, I have no ill will towards anyone in the PAC 2. My opinion - it was the Duck's choice and they are happy with it... so am I (except I'd rather still be in the old PAC 12). Everyone else is entitled to their opinion.
  20. It's over 700... but there were three different guys in the costume doing them throughtout the game.
  21. The title says it all... but I am going to add my voice a little anyway. One thing no one is saying is that anOSU was also screwed over in this bracket: they have to play the Ducks in round 2. Of course, that would have been more obvious if they hadn't have lost to Michigan. Since the Ducks have beaten both anOSU and Penn State, anOSU should be on Penn State's side of the bracket so they have to go through each other to get the right to a rematch. OK. That's all I wanted to say.
