I don’t know what’s going on in Cornelius’ head but he’s not playing anywhere near the level of a starting lineman. Might be good to bench him as a wake up call.
September 1, 2024Sep 1 What a seriously unexpected, underwhelming, and unimpressive 1st half. Scary that we're playing Idaho and we look like this. Hopefully, the second half will look like the team we were expecting.
September 1, 2024Sep 1 Moderator Go to the doctor at the half. Fix what ails the O-line. The one bright point is that Pickard may not be JPJ, but his snaps are good and he's only allowed one pressure. Gabriel gets a B+ so far. D is doing it's job. Give Idaho props, they are playing well.

September 1, 2024Sep 1 Gotta remind ourselves that it’s the first game with many new faces. Biggest growth happens starting tomorrow. Still, there are some good signs now. It’s a loooong season. They’ll clean it up.
September 1, 2024Sep 1 Moderator Idaho is disciplined on defense. They’re keeping everything in front of them. The good thing about Gabriel is he’s not trying to force long throws. The running game needs work. Cornelius isn’t doing great, but those illegal formation calls were ticky tacky. He probably lined up like that all last season and didn’t get called.
September 1, 2024Sep 1 Moderator Wouldn't bench Cornelius as that really won't help things. The two illegal formation penalties he was responsible for probably wouldn't have been called last year. That said, there is now no question about how deep the OT can line up, so correct it. Communication on the O-line appears to be partly responsible as well for the missed assignments. That might be due to Pickard but they just all need to get on the same page. And IMHO, this Idaho team came to play and isn't intimidated by Autzen or the Duck's #3 ranking. The second half will be more telling.
September 1, 2024Sep 1 First game jitters, most all the games I've watched today the first half is pretty uninspiring. Time to make some adjustments at halftime and come out with some solid OL play.

September 1, 2024Sep 1 Author Administrator I am really impressed with how accurate Gabriel is, and he does have a quick release. When he decides to throw--it's gone. I am surprised at the offensive line, but it is early. Disappointed with injuries on defense; Bassa is out, but nice to have Boettcher and Jackson to step in. September 1, 2024Sep 1 I just looked and 296 first half yards surprised me. Very impressive. Dillion is 23-27, 245 yards, 1 TD. Highly impressive.
