Here we are my Duck-Buddies, the thread for pondering the actual game as it happens.  Let's discuss before, and during the game!

The vast majority of you are GREAT in this thread, but you must remember that this forum is different, as we require civilized discourse. Discussion of negative is fine, but don't vent on us!

Rule No. 31d covers GameDay Thread Conduct, and it is not hard for the vast majority of us--just a tiny few who need to reign it in when things don't go well for Our Beloved Ducks.

Let's Have Fun Posting During the Game!

I'm cautiously optimistic that the Ducks found a combination that worked during the second half of the BSU game. We just need the offensive line to be decent/good (i.e., not get blown up) against Oregon State.

I've been somewhat of a doubter since the Idaho game, but i awoke with a good feeling about today.

I think they turn the corner this week.

That is all.

Matthew Bedford not listed on Oregon's injury report prior to kickoff against Oregon State

The Big Ten requires member schools to provide injury updates two hours prior to each game. Here are players Oregon has deemed unavailable for Saturday's road meeting with Oregon State.

To me, the strategy for Oregon's defense in this game is simple.

My belief is that our defensive backs can match-up with Beavers receivers, thus we can pack the box to stop their running game, and go one-on-one with their wide receivers.

I do not think OSU will outscore us in that scenario... but do our coaches feel the same way?

Mr. FishDuck

I just want to say Go Ducks!!!  I’m confident the Ducks will prevail, but win or lose, they will ALWAYS be my team!

Bend but don't break defense?

Terrible open field coverage by the leader of our defense on 3rd and long...

I'm going to say this 100 more times this season.  Cover the receiver, stop looking at the QB

Special teams coach earning his money this year!

Well, the biggest thing I wanted to see was a dominant performance by the Ducks defense. That’s not going to happen.

Whoa.  I hope not, but our defense may be as bad as it looked last week....... wth?

  • Moderator

Boettcher’s awesome effort on those two PBU’s were completely wasted on that first series. Hope some adjustments will be made on the next Beavo possession, they got lucky OSU got in their own way.

That’s the cleanest offensive drive I’ve seen so far! 🫡

Nice job by the offense, especially the offensive line, on that drive.  Keep it up!

I didn't like Jordan James running out of bounds on his first run. From there on out he ran very well, kudos.

This does look like a coming out party for DG and the receivers, much needed! 7-0, loving it!

Thinking this is what the beav fans are looking like.

Now that is how you drive down the field...

Great pass potection........

Great run blocking....

Pin point passing.

Lets go defense and tighten up.

Now THAT looks like an Oregon offense!

Why play that soft coverage on 3rd and long?

Glad to see Jordan James not being subbed out at the end of the drive.

im sorry.  I will keep hope and keep it to myself,  but this is one crappy defense...

Defense is awful..

Maybe we can get back into the pac 7.      Win Big    LOL.  if we play like this we are may not even have a winning record come Jan...

Come on defensive coaches.      Someone spent the money not start coaching!!!

Defense is not good enough, that was awful,

So disappointing

Oregon State fan:  "NOOOOOOO!  GET HIM......"

Love that DG finally called his own number!

Better effort by the defense this time.

I’ll still take it. Good teams take advantage and make it count!

I don't want much in this life but a vengeful D line is one of them. Alas.

The offensive line is playing terrific.  DG has been perfect both throwing and running the ball.

Glad to see Holden catching some downfield passes.  He has a great attitude.

This is the offense that’s been bubbling under the surface waiting for the OL to catch up.

I think Bryce Boettcher might be my favorite Duck on this team! I love the heart!

This team is wack a mole, o-line steps up, defense falls down. Time to start firing on all cylinders!

It is like the defense has never seen a screen play. The lack of awareness, is shocking.

I love the aggressiveness, but you have to be conscious of what is going on around you.

This game is frustrating

Team is soft

Feels like the Beavos OC is throwing out a bunch of different looks to eat up clock and grind for 1st downs.

while we toss NIL money around...   maybe pay someone who can tackle.   just sayin

That’s not roughing the passer or targeting. Garbage call.

They're not taking FishDuck's advice.  Just stack the box and force them to throw the ball.  I am disappointed in Lupoi's choice of formations.  Again, they don't have the personnel to run the defense they want to run.

In addition, the defense is slacking.  Now THEY are playing lax.  No intensity outside a few players like Boetcher.

Finally, I'm picking on Dontae Manning all game of I'm an OC.

Poor call on the roughing the passer.  That's a homer call.

Defense needs to start playing to their level of talent.  They just don't play with fire.

Maybe we can back out of the Ohio St game....

Too frustrating to watch, I'm going outside to play! I mean you hit him, have ahold of him, but let him go! I'm gone too!

That was hands down the worst roughing the passer call and it gave Beavus the chance to score. Let them back into the game. That said, defense needs to close the lane that their qb can squirrel thru.

Our D looks bad. This is not a playoff bound team.

Defense again disappointing, not wrapping up, not finishing plays, not containing the qb, bad bad defense

It is the same old, same old, hype that defense will take the next step and not performing

Just time to regroup and make any necessary changes during halftime. I knew this was going to be a tough game.

Didn’t expect to be fearing third and long on D in year three with Lanning.

Yep,

Poor tackling like that is from a lack of intensity.  Definitely not up to standard.

Will this team put together a complete game this year?
