Posted Yesterday at 02:25 AM1 day Administrator No. The list of surprises is long, but for me--it was great to see the offensive line get angry and dominate a so-so program's defensive line. No playing down, as we had hat-on-hat often, and saw superb extended blocking. On the flip side...I saw a few holds by us that were not called, and would love to clean that up. What surprises were there for YOU? Mr. FishDuck
Yesterday at 02:37 AM1 day No. Surprised only that Rutgers was not ready to play at all. They can’t be that bad. They were leading Washington at one point a week or 2 ago. Right? Now, how does the team keep the intensity for a weak-ish Wisconsin team?

Yesterday at 02:44 AM1 day Moderator No. Never a ... OK, I had more than a few doubts coming into this game. And the start was - Oh No! 🤬But after the 1st half of the first quarter, I simply relaxed and enjoyed.😍OBD got right, left, north, south, east, west, 360 degrees RIGHT and then some! There is a B1G gap between the upper tier of this conference and the bottom third. That was a fun, fun, fun watch. Daddy, don't take the Offense away!As you so noted, Charles, it was so good to see the OL play Monster Mash. BLAST BUCKY!
Yesterday at 02:49 AM1 day No. I was surprised by Kenyon Sadiq's monster game, until he got dinged up. He's obviously the best player on the field when he is healthy, so I'm guessing he was not healthy verses Indiana. If he was, different outcome!
Yesterday at 03:09 AM1 day No. Not really if you look at the results on my prediction contest score 49-17 (it was 56-10), I called 3 take-aways, we had 3...6 sacks, we had 3. 335 passing yards, we had 3383 turnovers (by 3 starters) was a surprise. Total yardage domination (750-202) and holding the hyped Rutgers passing game to 79 yds...pleasant surprise
Yesterday at 03:43 AM1 day No. I feel bad for Wisconsin fans. Two straight weeks of not scoring a point is going to stretch to three next week. Oregon wants to dominate, and I think they want to prove a point going forward that they aren't going to mess around with middling to lower tier B1G squads. Wisconsin made the game ugly last year. Oregon is going to pounce. The only question is will Fickell make it to Eugene and then get fired, or is he gone tomorrow?
Yesterday at 03:47 AM1 day No. Hopefully, Oregon can make the playoffs to see if we can respond to getting punched in the mouth against a good team vs front-running against a weaker team.

What surprises were there for YOU?One of the biggest difference between this week and last week was that last week's ref crew was a lot more flag happy in general. Oregon has gotten used to a lot of flags not being thrown for rough and boarderline holding play. Last week's crew was throwing flags... this week's crew really wasn't which has been more of the norm throughout the season to date.
Yesterday at 03:50 AM1 day No. I was surprised with how the Ducks completely put it on Rutgers in the first half. They were pissed off and took it out on the Scarlet Knights. At least we know this team will not roll over and die like Penn State did. Credit to the players from putting the Indiana game behind them and traveling all the way across the country to kick some a#%. Keep improving week after week so you are peaking at the end of the year.
Yesterday at 04:10 AM1 day No. I am surprised it was that much of a dominating performance. I thought we would probably win a route, but after the first possession it was just one way traffic the entire way, I also was surprised to see Rutgers have no success at all in the passing game, they have good receivers and a decent QB, but it was just stifled for the entire night. Great job by everyone.

Any body check?
Yesterday at 05:40 AM1 day No. I was only mildly surprised at our offensive performance, since Rutgers has a horrible defense, especially when it comes to explosive plays.I was extremely surprised how much our defense dominated them, because their offense was supposed to be pretty good. The most surprising thing for me this game was learning from the announcer that Rutgers started in 1766, 10 years before the Declaration of Independence. That's freaking old. Edited yesterday at 05:42 AM1 day by Solar

Yesterday at 12:46 PM1 day No. Biggest surprise was how lame the Scarlet Knights offense looked against the Ducks. They seemed more capable the few times I've seen them play this year. Second biggest was the absence of Novostad. What's that all about?
Yesterday at 02:40 PM1 day No. Very suprised that Stein used a few counters and misdirections in the running game. Those play calls froze the Rutgers linebackers and left them flatfooted. this took pressure off DM.IU linebackers were on their toes movIng and forcing pressure on DM.The biggest surprise was designed runs for Dante. All of this, coupled with strong blocking helped light up the scoreboard. It was exciting to see a massive Duck O lineman and Sadiq 40 yards downfield blocking for Dante when the turf monster got him.Go Ducks.....
Yesterday at 07:56 PM1 day No. The best surprise is no surprise. Go Ducks.I was surprised that Brock Thomas came in early and played respectfully good QB. He had composure and sound fundamentals. It also surprised me that the Ducks showed as yet unseen formations and used a few “trick” plays against Rutgers not keeping them under cover until hunting bigger game.
Yesterday at 08:46 PM1 day No. Surprised that Lanning still refuses to let Davidson and Hill run the show as lead backs for this team. They are so good.
23 hours ago23 hr Moderator No. By now I probably shouldn’t be, but I’m always surprised at how good the mottos are that Dan comes up with every week. Need a game day tee that says, ‘Time To Pay The Rent’.

They're last TD was pass interference. The WR pushed off. They also didn't earn that First Down at the 22 on that third down play. They should have been forced to go for it on 4th and 1.I was not pleased with the refs. It's like a conspiracy to prevent us becoming a blue blood. Something else though... ESPN noted we traveled back east twice before playing Indiana. Not sure that contributed, but OBD didn't look themselves against Indiana. I want pleased with the performance, but the two late INTs and said ref calls above decided the outcome. One thing I really appreciate about Lanning is we won't see many lethargic performances. You can tell he wants some more of Indiana. Not to mention Ohio State. There plenty to work on, but I'm hoping to see some major intensity against every team in the vicinity of our talent level. I have only seen that it Seattle. I want to see OBD play any elite team with that kind of intensity. I think OBD can stick with any of them if they play clean and hard.
22 hours ago22 hr No. Many of you probably noticed this in earlier games, but I am not real swift.....Genorris Wilson playing right tackle with Harkey at right guard seems like a positive experiment

It's like a conspiracy to prevent us becoming a blue blood. There was a similar trend against Penn State. Penn State got a ton of generous ball placements that gave them first downs. Where Oregon got the opposite. I remember Dante running and clearly got the first down before he started his slide but the refs marked him short so the Ducks had it at 4th and 1.... Granted Davison ran it in for a TD next play but still. It does feel like th Ducks are getting the hard mode treatment when it comes to refs this season. I thought a couple of the holding calls on Saturday were a bit dubious. Not that they weren't legit holding but when things are for the most part getting ignored but flags flying at certain times it seems funny.
14 hours ago14 hr Moderator No. I'm glad OBD responded the way they did against Rutgers. I was counting on it happening based on my score prediction, though I obviously did not give enough credit to the defense (I had Rutgers scoring 21, mostly in garbage time).Overall it was obviously a dominating effort. However there are still a couple things to nitpick:Dante's overthrowing his long range passes somewhat. The 3 TDs he tossed to Sadiq and Wittington all required them to make a diving catch to complete despite not having defenders around them. Sadiq's 2nd TD catch ended up re-aggravating the ankle he injured in the previous game.Kicking team has missed multiple FG attempts against Indiana and Rutgers, that really needs to be improved.

I was very surprised that Moore #1 mishandled a punt, I do not think I had seen him miss any ball that was remotely catchable this year.
3 hours ago3 hr No. I'll absolutely admit that I wasn't expecting Oregon to be up 49-3 with 12+ minutes to go in the 3rd Quarter. And I did not expect to see Moore put up 14/18, 279 yards, 4 TDs... in the first half. And what a nice gift it was to get so many backup players in for some decent PT experience.Just an excellent bounce back game, on the road, 3,000 miles, and 3 time zones away from home.
