  2. I don't get this. Novasad isn't listed on the OUT list either, and he's obviously not going to be there on Friday. Also, the Ducks are in Atlanta now. Is Harris there or not? Don't see any reason to think he's going to play if nobody saw him walk out of the plane. Right? Well...Google says he flew on the plane and is Atlanta. Question answered. Good talk.
  3. Ducks!!! 24-16 2 Hoosier TOs 3 OBD sacks 273 OBD passing yards
  4. Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction of Oregon versus Indiana? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Let's get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. We Have Two New Rules: If two winning scores are tied, and tiebreakers tie? The first one who posted wins, automatically. TerryM9 gets 42-6 locked in every time as his. (I love this guy!) Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon 30-20 1 2 281 Going to get a great game from Whittington!
  5. Well the supply and demand curves need to be split into two sets... Because for top end talent the demand has NEVER been higher. We are seeing QBs going for 5 mil or something bonkers right now. So the price for the best talent is just going up and is at the highest its ever been. Partly because it's been proven that teams that can acquire the best transfers can potentially be instant CFP candidates... Texas Tech here. Meanwhile... the other side of the talent pool is probably reaching the lowest cost its ever going to be because there is so much supply and the demand for it will be filled mostly by low tier teams that can only afford scholarships at best. Definately a sign of how College Football is diverging into the haves and the feeder schools.
  6. College Football News has OBD winning a close game in Atlanta. Just Win Ducks! Quack! https://collegefootballnews.com/college-football/indiana-vs-oregon-prediction-cfp-semifinal
  7. The conclusion from a white paper on the subject, by former Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs and Mark LaBarbera of Timark Partners, states: “The data in this study reinforces a clear reality: the vast majority of NCAA Division I men’s basketball players who enter the transfer portal move down or out. The portal isn’t the place to rise, but it is the place to find more playing time, albeit at a lower level.” AD Advisors found that 60% of FBS football transfers move down a level as well. For every Jared Verse, who went from FCS Albany to Florida State to the first round of the NFL draft, there is more than one Jaden Rashada, whose path has gone from commitment to Miami and commitment flip to Florida (but not playing) to suiting up at Arizona State and Georgia to his current home, FCS Sacramento State. But, Rashada's story hasn't ended. He entered the portal again today. He may be headed to Colorado to follow his Sac State coach Brennan Marion. Did Oregon guys transfer laterally, or down? https://247sports.com/longformarticle/where-oregon-ducks-football-transfers-are-playing-football-in-2025-dan-lanning-251385102/#2665974
  8. At some point, if there are too many guys in the portal, or guys with questionable past performance stats, then a bunch of them lose leverage for any deal they hoped to achieve. Supply exceeds demand and the price drops. And, or, the scholarship disappears. The dream of sending money home to help mom becomes a disappointment for mom that you didn't keep your scholarship.
  9. Seems to me I read that around 40 to 50% continue with football, but many end up at lower level schools that don’t give full scholarships, or NIL. So a large portion of them leave a scholarship behind.
  10. Did Lane just buy an 8 million dollar college QB?😁
  11. How did the powers that be let this crap happen?
  12. According to others, Joel Klatt, Pete Thamel among them, the number is over 30%.
  13. FWIW, Big Ten headquarters, advised by counsel, believes the agreement is complient with any and all rules. Under the agreement, an adult waived his right to enter the portal and the right to demand that UW put his name in the portal. Before signing, Williams understood the terms and conditions of the agreement. He and his advisers were not deceived by UW. What's UW get? Possibly millions in damages and a precedent that supports the concept that adults are responsible for the agreements they enter into. A precedent that teams should be able to rely on athletes signing revenue-sharing contracts with a school will be on a team's roster. It's not like many adults, right Lane, are great role models. But LSU paid Ole Miss the millions of dollars owed in liquid damages as Miami paid Oregon when Mario left. The deal Williams signed with UW is worth between $3 and $4 million for one season of football. That seems to me to be reasonable compensation. Williams being screwed over? Williams and his advisors knew exactly what he was signing. Unless Williams decided to leave on his own, which I very much doubt, people knowingly interfered with a contract. Some of these people are likely among the folks who advised Williams to sign the contract. Interference with a contract has been a civil offense since the days of English common law.
  14. And I'd venture to say most won't find a new home.
  15. 25% of all FBS Players are in the Portal https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/college-footballs-transfer-portal-has-spun-out-of-control/
  16. So, what does UW get if it can enforce a contract? A disgruntled QB who will be a virus in the lockerroom? And, difficult to manage on the practice and playing field? A contract by the way, though voluntarily signed, which may have a restriction that is not compliant with NCAA rules and can't be contracted away? I'm not an attorney, but I did watch a lot of Matlock and Perry Mason episodes. It appears some of the columnist offering opinion on the topic went to the same "law school" as I did.
  17. Looking more and more like Harris will be available Friday. He's not Davison, but he can run and knows the position, playbook and is a bruiser that can block. If he elevates his game he could be a help in that backfield and improve his transfer status.
  18. I could hardly believe my eyes when they tied the game. They looked like a different team after the third quarter. They should show up in the top 25 after this game.

  20. More on the SEC coming back to the field. ESPN.comWetzel: The big, bad SEC isn't dead. It's just not specia...The Big Ten is guaranteed to be playing for a third straight national title. Can the SEC find a way to dominate this new era like it did the previous one?
  21. Great come back against a ranked team on the road. Hopefully the team is returning to top twenty form.
