Are Duck Fans Suffering from PTSD?
I know I suffer from PTDS, Post-Traumatic Ducks Syndrome. The close-but seasons took a toll on me and have left me always a bit skeptical of climbing all the way to the top, this season included. It's gonna be tough.

Belichik Set to be the New Coach at UNC and He'll Take His Son with Him!
I think you have it exactly right; college football coaching is getting to be a young man's game. The amount of energy it takes, the need to relate to 17-year-olds, all the other business with staff, boosters...it doesn't seem a good fit for what is objectively a grumpy old man. Plus, the game on the field itself has changed in the past decades. Even his son looks old and grumpy, to boot.

Joel Klatt Calls Out Terrible CFP Bracket
Whether he believes it nor not, it's a great thing to say when you're leading a team. It means there's no opening for anyone in the program to feel sorry for themselves, or think about "what-ifs", or be apprehensive. When the boss says this, you gotta believe it. Just win the next game. That said, everyone knows Ducks got screwed.

Good Chuck Culpepper Column on Ducks
"Where some teams didn’t beat too much of anybody, Oregon beat three teams from the top 10 and four from the top 25 with its oft-dazzling offense and highly ranked defense." https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2024/12/08/oregon-penn-state-big-ten-championship/

Tez Johnson Appreciation Thread
And, last night, for the first time, his biological family saw him play a college game. "I told them, 'This is the first game y'all coming to, I'll give y'all a show, I promise you that,'" Johnson said. "I don't know if words can explain it. My mom, just seeing the tears in her eyes, being able to watch me play on a stage like this. My family had never seen it before. ... It's something you dream about."

Ducks Program in Washington Post
Of course, the focus is on money and on Uncle Phil, but it's not an unreasonable analysis. Some of the comments, OTOH, are hilarious. Oregon football’s well-oiled NIL machine is backed by Nike’s Phil Knight - The Washington Post

Dan Lanning's Movie Reference Ahead of the Big Ten Championship Ruffles Feathers
I thought that smashing a Washington helmet with sledgehammer was a bit off-putting; after all there is usually a head inside one of those helmets. But, at least Lanning didn't use a flame-thrower.
