  1. I just don't have a clue who to root for, or against here. Such a dilemma.!!
  2. I'm with you. It would be too much fun to just smoke them, however, a loss would be insufferable.
  3. Ohio State 35-16 1 TO 2 sacks 195 yds I'm hoping I'm the biggest loser here.
  4. DG's got to be wondering why he even came to Oregon about now. What a pathetic whole team effort tonight. OSU has to be licking it's chops for next week.
  5. This is a really loaded topic with lots of potential answers, none of them wrong. As a fan since the Bob Berry, Casanova years, and remembering talk of Norm Van Brocklin, I can come up with at least a dozen players and coaches I'd consider for my Mt. Rushmore. I hope there's room for a lot more than four. Dan Fouts was beyond awesome considering the team he had. Later came Chris Miller, Joey Harrington, Marcus Mariota, Justin Herbert and Bo Nix. Running backs like Bobby Moore Jonathon Stewart, LaMichael James, and Royce Freeman were awesome. DAT was phenominal . There were great defensive players, and numerous coaches that made out program what they are today. It would be impossible to limit it to just four people without insulting so many major contributors. BUT...., if I had to pick four, I'd probably go with Belloti for the gradual development of out program to a national presence, Joey Harrington for his grit, competetive spirit, and being a Heisman contender, Mariota for the obvious national recognition he brought our program, and LaMichael James for showing what an over achieving 3 star recruit can do for a program. But again, it's so subjective, I could be completely off base.
  6. If I start seeing college football players looking like race car drivers with a bunch of corporate patches on, I'll be done with college athletics. This all has gone a long ways from kids getting a free college education in exchange for playing a sport they love for a school. Seems like the kids would become more concerned keeping their sponsors happy than the school they represent.
  7. Boneyard also has it's own brewpub restaurant down on Division street in Bend.
  8. Projected salary and signing bonus for Jackson Powers-Johnson DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Contract details for Oregon Ducks C Jackson Powers-Johnson after being selected by the Las Vegas Raiders.
  9. Jackson Powers-Johnson drafted the by the Raiders in the NFL Draft DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Jackson Powers-Johnson is headed to the Las Vegas Raiders with the No. 44 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
  10. No articles yet, but JPJ was drafted #44 by the Las Vegas Raiders.
  11. Well, being from Bend, I concur that is an excellent IPA. The guys running that brewery have a wealth of experience. There are so many good beers here it takes a week to get through my favorites. Being partial to hazy IPAs, there are at least a half dozen that are great, including those from Silver Moon, Deschutes, Worthy, and Bevel. My present favorite beer is Strata IPA from Worthy, though Boneyard RPM is a good standby. It's also nice Worthy is just a few miles from my home by back roads
  12. That was just brutal. He made a pretty impressive effort. the last 3 holes, but just not quite enough.
  13. The Miami fans have certainly picked up on what we know about Mario. On their forums, they're super excited about his recruiting chops and the talent he brings, but they whine continuously about what a lousy game coach he is. He's blamed for losing several games from bonehead in game decisions. It's fun to read their posts, especially during the season.
  14. Being a Duck fan for so long has been awesome. Growing up, as my family were all fans, I remember trying to get a decent radio station in E. Wa. to listen to Bob Berry and Casanova play Washington, I remember Eric Olsen throwing the first touchdown pass at Autzen, Fouts playing lights out against Air Force and UCLA,, and all the great QBs we've had at Oregon. The college game is changing, but it's still great entertainment. It's been fun watching our Ducks come from a nobody in football to now one of the most prominent and successfull teams. Chip made us "cool" and put us on the map. Coaching has improved, recruiting as well. Now we're in the big leagues. It will be fun to see how it all plays out. I'm thankful DL is leading the way, and that he has all that young energy to push our program.
  15. If heappears as a " better " version of Vernon Adams, that sounds pretty good. Vernon was pretty impressive.
  16. I don't think it's a QB development problem that Oregon specifically has. Obviously, we want the best QB we can have, and if the talent, experience, and results are better with a transfer, then that's the route we go. This isn't specific to Oregon. Look at all the transfer QBs playing at blue blood and the more competetive schools, schools like LSU, OU,Ohio State ,Alabama,USC, etc... Surly not every one of these schools fails to develop their QB talent. I think it's the sign of the times that HS QBs are recruited to be developed, but with a few exceptions, just aren't able to compete for the starter job with a high quality experienced transfer that the wealthier schools can buy, us included.
  17. The QB musical chairs transfers will become very interesting. Already, there are a half dozen quality QB players out there, and likely more to come. Nix will be extremely difficult to replace, and I think there is not one transfer out there at this point to do it. But how do you replace a Heisman finalist? The rumors swirl about which of these QBs are going where and who's paying what NIL. Examples are Fuskies have CB' for Miss St. Will Rogers coming in to replace Penix, and Gabriel expecting a $2M NIL. It will be facinating to see who ends up where, and when. I guess we'll just have to trust Lanning to pick the best one for his needs.
  18. Maybe, but these two are known talents. We know both can play. We don't know that about any of our other QBs or recruits.
  19. Why not try for Gabriel and Moore. Gabriel is a high quality QB, but is a one and done. Moore is transferring to be better developed. What better way than to learn from someone like Gabriel and the staff for a year, then be THE man for the next two. He was thrown into the fire this year brfore he was ready. Win win for everyone.
  20. It will be fun to watch Bo one last time. He just simply wants to play. He's been pretty amazing in every game in that he thinks so quickly and releases the ball so fast that he is rarely hit or sacked. As long as he doesn't run the ball much, he's almost never on the ground. With a good insurance policy, and him using common sense, hopefully he'll be fine. Unlike a lot of players, Bo has such a coaches and leader mentality that I think he will always have a football future whether he's an NFL QB or not.
  21. Nothing against Liberty, I'm sure they're a fine team, but we drew the short straw on this one. I'm assuming it's because we're from the dying Pac 12, geographically closer to Glendale than other NY6 teams, and with east coast political clout, no one there wanted to play them. I would think there will be a serious bail out of seniors and draft eligible players. As high scoring as that team is, it will be a serious challenge for Oregon's 2nd and 3rd string players.
  22. Oregon 34-27 1 turnover 4 sacks 287 yards passing
  23. If I were Texas A&M, I wouldn't fire a coach with a $75M payout without having a definite game plan and some ideas about who I could get and what I was going to do.. I realize by starting now, they're ahead of the end of season firings, but I would still want to have an idea of who would be interested. It seems to me that there would already have been behind the scene conversations with potential candidates prior to the firing, but maybe that's not how it works. Maybe Lanning has already been contacted, or maybe he isn't even one of their top candidates. Everything we've heard is just media speculation based on potential candidates successes. Lanning is very young and still has a lifetime of coaching ahead of him. I just don't see him jumping ship with the way our program is progressing at this point in his career.
  24. I just can't see this happening, it just doesn't fit his character. He was pretty specific about why he picked Oregon, what the potential was here, and what his goals were. He has everything going for him. Great staff, recruiting extremely well, program heading in the direction he wants, and an awesome fan base. He's paid well, and I just don't see hie integrity allowing him to leave in less than two years with his goals here in reach. Unlike Slick Willie and Mari-no-O, he wouldn't be returning to his alma mater or even a place he's coached before. Why would he leave a relatively calm environment to go to a pressure cooker job at a school that is a lateral move at best. He's paid well, and if needed, would be paid even more. Again, this potential move just doesn't fit his character to me. He just seems more honorable than that, and I don't see him leaving 25 new recruits in the wind. I think they should rip off the Fuskies coach. That would be a meltdown to see.
  25. Lanning seems very focused and goal oriented, namely win a national championship. He's investing a lot in that goal here, and I don't see him quitting or jumping ship until he's reached it. Secondly, he has a young family. The kids seem to be doing well with the school system, and his wife seems happy in Eugene. If that's the case, I see him staying here until his kids are out of school. He just doesn't seem like a money chaser, he's running an up and coming program with national appeal, there's a new challenge with the Big 10, he's very well paid, and he's inching closer to that national championship. Why would he leave?
