  1. I'm not married to that number...I care more about the offense being more balanced, creative, and efficient. If it's moving the chains with cold, calculated precision that demoralizes the other team over 3 quarters then I'm good with that.
  2. I'm genuinely excited about this visit. DL is one place where Oregon has not traditionally and consistently recruited well (KT not withstanding). I'd be through the moon if the Ducks could pull in a high 4-star or 5-star DT though...
  3. When I got accepted to attend the UO 😄
  4. I don't think Lanning really had a choice in the matter. Pre-Nix there was virtually no in-game experience in the QB room after Brown graduated...add to that the now obvious revelation that QB development wasn't much of a focus during Cristobal's time and you have a precarious situation for the offense.
  5. Could be another Gardner Minshew scenario.
  6. 35+ ppg on offense with balance in the running and passing games. 18-20 ppg on defense with lots of pressure on the QB. Most important above all is consistency. If the games are close with legit opponents, that's fine but curb stomp lesser competition like they should. I think given all the moving parts in a transition season the ceiling is a PAC12 championship. CFP is a possibility the season after.
  7. While I'm glad he's finishing his career at Oregon, I'm not head over heels excited. He's proven to have a limited ceiling and has similar stats as Brendan Schooner... he'll be a veteran presence to maybe teach the younger some things but I don't expect him to start or put up any record breaking numbers.
  8. David brings up a great point about the old Oregon regime, they literally aged out due to the rise of technology (social media). That put younger and/or more adaptable coaches who were more hip to the new communication game at a huge advantage. This also contributed to Oregon having better recruiting classes later on as that tech makes the world feel much smaller, allowing recruits feel more comfortable about flying across the country to a place like Eugene.
  9. I'm sure DL and Tosh will help make up the Thib loss in the aggregate
  10. LOL I don't watch that reality tv stuff but this did make me laugh out loud.
  11. Aaron Donald is a special player, not many like him. Really big defensive linemen also need to be mobile. Otherwise they become a liability against dynamic/fast-paced offenses, of which there are plenty nowadays.
  12. I wince every time I see something like this as I was a proponent of expansion. Pulling in those SW/midwest teams would have greatly benefited the conference in so many ways...
  13. Yup, and I acknowledged that in the 2nd half of my sentence.
  14. Would've been nice to have him join Oregon, his size would present all sorts of issues for defenses as a receiver. That being said, WR/TE is less of a concern right now than other areas of need or higher ranked possibilities like Connerly.
  15. Kayden Proctor has included Oregon in his top 7. Obviously it's still early on but we can definitely see the inroads Dan Lanning's staff is making in next year's recruiting. Can you imagine if Adrian Klemm is able reel this guy in? He's an absolute monster at 6'7" and 330lbs! Kayden Proctor's top 7
  16. Everyone loved how Mario could bring in top end talent but loathed how he developed/utilized it. Plus it's weeks until the Spring game and months until the start of next season so we're all going to be looking at recent history given the dearth of Duck news for the foreseeable future.
  17. Just further evidence that while Coach Mario could amass talent, he completely under utilized it. What a waste...
  18. Awesome! Welcome to the forums and appreciate the focus on women's sports, I also share the opinion that they don't get enough attention.
  19. That particular Alamo Bowl was a nightmare come to life. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I can't recall who was the backup center but I distinctly remember him constantly snapping the ball way too high, making an unbearable situation even worse. If the snapping were consistent, I think Oregon could have clawed their way to a narrow victory in regulation. Oh well...
  20. I don't mind the color, I'm a T-Mobile subscriber 😛
  21. They won the last 6 games of their season including their bowl game, I think they probably have it figured out.
