  1. We know about the Ducks, the 2nd most Quad1 wins in the country, but it's the losses, to Minnesota and Nebraska that just don't make any sense. Or do they? Indiana, sitting in 10th place, just beat 6th place, Purdue, 73-58. After Illinois stomped the Ducks, 109-77, it looked like the Final Four for the Fightin' ,Illinini since then, they've gone 8-9 and last night, on a neutral court, lost to Duke, 110-67. Maryland beat osu2,83-59, nobody could believe it. A game before Oregon beat the Terps, they lost to last place Washington. Maryland is in 3rd place now, 11-5, 21-6 overall. Last night, 10th place Indiana beat 6th place Purdue, 75-58. Little reason to believe that the last 3 or 4 games teams have are going to make any more sense, and the Tournament will definitely be crazy. Remember that team that went on a crazy run and won the last Pac-12 Tournament?
  2. "Uncle Phil" jokes, really? USC is sounding a lot like UW here, and of the two, I expect more competition from the latter.
  3. Lose 12-11, win 1-0, then win 19-12, analytics won't work here!
  4. Especially with the Portal. Players are Free Agents, I'm sure there is some bonding, but the name on the front of the jersey has never meant less.
  5. His D on Tonje was HUGE. 6 points in the 2nd half. All season, Bamba's been the best defensive player on the team, enough so, that even with his shooting y=trouble, he couldn't be kept off the court. Except for his shooting, he's good at everything else, definitely the most physical player. His shooting has improved during the winning streak, MacLean pointed out that a shooter has to be free, just let it go. Bamba may have been the opposite but is getting more confident just in time.
  6. No.19 Oregon softball beats No.22 Missouri 11-3 to cap off undefeated weekend - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM This weekend at the Mary Nutter Classic was supposed to be a difficult test for No.19 Oregon softball (15-1 ). Instead, after an...
  7. I'm thinking, hoping, that consistency for Evans will come with consistent minutes. This was a particularly bad game for Angel, but it isn't like we're all saying, "how'd that happen?" He's awful on defense, doesn't rebound and can't score in the paint. Bamba's D has kept him in the line-up, and his offense has been better in the winning streak. Making sure Bittle at least gets a touch in halfcourt possessions is a must. Early 3's are a killer, especially when you're 4-16.
  8. Angel: 19 minutes, 0 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, 1 turnover, 1 foul, and this wasn't a particularly bad game for him this season. Evans needs to get more PT, if it's at Angel's expense, all the better, this game, and all season, Angel is better on offense than defense. It wasn't a miracle that they won, and not to take away from the win; as great as it was, it just makes me shake thinking about the losses. Oregon really just played harder in the second half than in the first. Is this the Altman turnaround? Three games left. USC, Indiana @ home, finish @ Washington.
  9. Late heroics push Oregon men’s basketball over No. 11 Wisconsin 77-73 - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The hometown kids did it again. Such little had gone according to plan through this maddening mess of a Saturday matinee, from...
  10. 38-26 Wisconsin at halftime, 26 of the Badgers' point are in the paint. If teams never attempted 3's against this Ducks team, they'd win for sure.
  11. It was 17-14 Oregon, Wisconsin is on a 20-2 run.

  13. How much longer will 4's & 5's want to go to USC?
  14. "Right decision not for young quarterback"
  15. Here's a Maarty Leunen highlight I'll never forget, from '06-07 ``Maarty is a great freethrow shooter, we all knew that,'' Brooks said. ``I had all the faith that he'd hit those shots.'' Leunen sank two free throws with 0.5 seconds left to tie it at 64-64 and force overtime. They were the only points Leunen scored in regulation, but the 6-foot-9 junior wasn't nervous. ``I knew I had no points. It's kind of easy to remember how many points you have when you got none,'' he said. ``When you step up to the line, you've got to be confident and relax.''
  16. I never liked the addition of the Arizona's to the Pac-12, they definitely didn't fit. This year's Ducks could really use a Maarty Leunen.
  17. And they just beat Utah, 2-0! Lyndsey Grein leads No. 19 Oregon softball in 2-0 win over Utah - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM Sometimes, there will be a dominant showing from the pitching staff. Other times, a one-woman show, or an opponent’s blunder...
  18. Interesting that 11-1 Oregon was No.19 and 10-1Tennessee was No.6 No. 19 Oregon softball secures signature win with 1-0 walk-off over No.6 Tennessee - Daily Emerald DAILYEMERALD.COM The curse of the college softball nonconference slate is that it’s a weeks-long slog from city to city. From hotel rooms and random...
  19. It;s because of the opponent's both times, Florida, then Notre Dame, but it's wrong to have Miami in a Best anything. How about "Emerging superpower" Indiana @ Oregon, or Oregon @ Washington?
  20. You know the saying, "What happens in Indianapolis..." There is no saying about Indianapolis, it's Vegas!
  21. Either the schedule contrived for Texas was a gift for joining the SEC, or nobody noticed, either is bad. The collapse at Alabama immediately after Saban left, because he knew the floor was dropping must see, if only for Finebaum's fatalistic reactions to DeBoer's debut. In 2025, Alabama HAS to beat Oklahoma, but it will still be hollow, and hope to match the record of DeBoer's former team. USC or SC, which will approach the CFP in 2025? Kelly left Notre Dame to go to LSU because he saw the SEC as the shortest path to the Natty, that didn't work. Kiffin? His complaining is endless at Ole Miss, William Faulkner is pleading for him to "shut up!" Which will keep it going in 2025, Cignetti's "emerging superpower" Indiana or Vanderbilt, that actually had some impressive wins?
