  1. I agree. This clearly was not representative of Oregon baseball. During the broadcast it sounded like the Ducks definitely have a Regional, and a graphic showed that a top 8 seed is deserved, they had the Ducks up against 3 other contenders and Oregon was above all of them. So far, 6 of the Top 16 teams were eliminated early in their conference tournaments.
  2. Apparently ridiculous loophole that Liberty exploited. It is not spelled out in the rules that a runner can re-establish contact with the base.
  3. Let's go with this: Since Bittle wasn't invited to the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, this workout with the Warriors could just be being used as a sort of tool to figure out what he needs to continue to work on or improve in his final campaign with Oregon. Hearing from the likes of Golden State coach Steve Kerr and general manager Mike Dunleavy will leave some constructive criticism on what it will take for him to succeed at the next level down the road.
  4. the SEC is one of the leagues doing well. The betterment of the game, (making other conferences stronger, the game nationally better) is not something they would support.
  5. Probably because of him, the Trojans reserve 55 for their best LB. So, go forth, Matthew Johnson!
  6. Works for me. Nebraska was fortunate to get by Michigan State. Nebraska will say they made their luck. But it was State's right fielder who had the game ending 3rd out pop out of his glove. Later it was State that let a grounder somehow roll past Nebraska's infield. First, despite the saying, "destiny can't be controlled" it's the point of destiny. But anyway, Nebraska isn't that team anyway. Oregon isn't a team of "destiny" either, they're just really good.
  7. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Two years after watching her brother play in an NCAA Super Regional at PK Park, Emma Cox helped Oregon softball reach...
  8. Good workman like win for OBD, Aroz went 3-4, including a double, finished with 3 RBI, Player of the Game.
  9. The chat with Lurch was better, but please just announce the game, and, enough with Oregon being Co- Champion.
  10. As I understand this, if Oregon loses to Michigan State tonight, the game against Nebraska, on their home field, is a Must Win, isn't it?
  11. Since I mentioned Agee & Swoboda previously:
  12. They weren't' excluded before, the byes went to conference champions. Now there is no incentive at all for Notre Dame to join a conference, "Oh don't bother Notre Dame, here you go."
  13. I gotta say, my interest in sports started in '69 with the Jets & Broadway Joe winning Super Bowl lll, then it was the Miracle Mets, Seaver, Tommy Agee, Ron Swoboda making miracle catches in the OF, and finally, the Knicks, with Walt "Clyde" Frazier beat the Lakers 4-3, to win the NBA Championship, and oh yeah, THIS>
  14. Michigan does have 13 starters returning, ranking 10th in that category. For comparison, OBD has 10. Last season, after the Natty, they returned 5. so, there is reason for optimism. Oregon however is not returning its QB, leading receiver, leading running back, the O & D lines, along with the secondary will be new for the Ducks. Let's see if Oregon reloads or has to rebuild. Sadiq is not regarded as a returning starter, so there's that.
  15. I have no doubt that the Ducks will take this game, this "Opportunity" in Duck talk, seriously. A Super Regional @ The Jane is what they play for.
  16. It won't be Stanford, but emotions will be high as Liberty is in Oregon's way to get to Oklahoma City. Who will be in the circle for the Ducks?
  17. Like Paige Sinicki said, "There was no doubt we were going to win this game" after Stanford got a grand slam in the 1st inning, then led 7-3. Incredible performance, and it all worked out, they got their Super Regional.
  18. This seems to be registering with the national media. ND has lived a dream for long enough. Who knew it would be SC that would sound the alarm.
  19. No better example of this than last year's Indiana, a media dream. Out of nowhere, new coach, appealing, somehow. But don't bother to look at the SoS. Just because Finebaum pointed it out doesn't mean it wasn't true.
  20. Michigan State is leading 4-3 over Nebraska, it's the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, runner on 2nd, Nebraska hitter sends a lazy fly ball to right field, Spartan RF has it, then it pops out of his glove, player on 2nd scores, ties it, 4-4. In the bottom of the 10th, Michigan State infield in a shift, but Nebraska's leadoff hitter somehow gets the ball to roll past the 4, 5 & 6 into the OF, two straight strike outs, but the next gets a single, Nebraska scores and wins, 5-4.
  21. Other than the requisite Husky Hate, though Lake wasn't so bad...and I hate Cignetti!
  22. Good to keep the Coaches' trophies in the same place, congrats to the honored Ducks, but I have to complain a little bit, where's Carter Garate?
  23. Overall, I agree with your idea, it's the "ND is essentially Forced" to win part that rankles me. It should be a given that teams win the majority of their marquee games to qualify for the playoffs. ND should be treated like every other independent. Call their bluff.
