  1. I have worked in higher ed for 25 years. Strategic Change Management is not a strength of college administrators. In fact, I think they are genetically engineered to be the opposite of that. The exception is Mitch Daniels at Purdue.
  2. None other than Aaron Fentress puts the wins over/under at 8.5
  3. I agree.....TE seems to be a room in transition. Ferguson, Mataveo are the TE 2-deep. The UH H-back whose name escapes was plucked from the portal so coaches like him. Kaspar is a hybrid TE guy. Where does that leave Webb, McCormick, Herbert and Nanney? How many scholly and WO TE/Hbacks will we carry?
  4. KT strikes me as a well-rounded, curious intellectual kid who is living a "life examined" as Socrates suggested. He may not be a singular focus, "football is life" guy. Doesn't mean he won't be successful in the NFL. He may change focus once he receives appropriate remuneration and be "all-in" like Damian Lillard, regardless of franchise success or history. I also understand why he is media scrutinized the way he is.
  5. Hi mrspenny, it's good to see you here. Please post often. This site reminds of one particular long gone Duck site that was a collection of good humored fans who went through the ups and downs together for a couple of decades. This includes signing day chatrooms with many of us surreptitiously logged in while at work pretending to work though our inboxes. That site sold to a recruiting service and they condensed everything into one board that focused on recruiting all year to sell subscriptions. That's when I tapped out. In looking back, I think that when Beavermobile slipped this earthly coil, that board was lost forever. At least we have Repo Santa though.
  6. I love all three of these guys....we are fortunate to have these choices. Butterfield has looked the more natural passer and reader of defenses, but Ty clearly has the physical skillset. Nix has SEC conference experience and knowledge of the offense clearly a capable high quality college QB. With Georgia and BYU up in Games 1 and 2, and a first-year coach, you have to think Nix is the odds-on favorite to start. If not, then he was beaten out by a QB with NFL potential. Someone will have a tough decision to make after Spring. Maybe potential QB recruits are waiting to see how things shake out before committing. If someone transfers, another program is going to get a great QB....
  7. Yes, it would.....also to rate the efficacy of the individual scouts/raters
  8. Deep thoughts: Humbleness is a common trait in successful leaders.....humility is too. Signed, Jack Handey
  9. Yes, yes.....overroasted and bitter. Charbucks, favored by brand worshippers who drink milkshakes and call them coffee.
  10. If I were a smart financial/actuarial type, I would figure out how to bundle future Duck football revenues into NIL deals with an annuity device that provides a basic income for the athlete for their lifetime and scaled earnings based on a combined scorecard of personal, unit and team goals while in the Duck uniform. These incentives would encourage commitment to the team while playing, as well as, a commitment to the "progrum" after their career to insure that future team revenues are as high as possible to maintain the expanded NIL payouts.
  11. Thanks for posting these quotes, Charles.....I avoid those sites.
  12. Football Disneyland? Seems like a backhanded compliment. Does that make the UW "Football Enchanted Forest" or maybe "Football Wallyworld"?
  13. Exactly.....he managed to say a lot without saying anything. He has a career to think about. Nonetheless, he seemed to say that Ty was always 1b. No shame in that....given the level of HS football he came from and AB's experience.
  14. Better than Jerry Adams? I will need to be convinced of that....
  15. Most likely related to academics. Maybe he wants to finish a credential at WSU this Spring and then transfer afterward?
  16. Washington recruits are always overrated....
  17. Recruiting ranking firms are incentivized to engage online clicks, not to be accurate.
  18. Stubblefield may have been the straw that stirred the drink.
  19. I doff my proverbial cap to thee.
  20. I think we needed another RB and its good to get a guy the coach knows. This move seems to lend credence to a couple of other recent suppositions, namely Seven McGee from RB to WR and Brian Addison staying on the defensive side of the ball.
  21. I think someone once referred to this as the Law of Unintended Consequences.
  22. Thanks, Kid......great post. You mentioned that KT called out Mario. I musta missed that, can you paraphrase his criticism, or point me to a source. Thanks, IDROS
  23. I'm with you....and this was the O's decision, according to Ken Goe. I might just renew my Oregonian subscription now. Unless Fentress is promoted.
