  1. Thank you, although the key word in this is "work," as this new addition also created new duties (and time taken) at night in addition to working with the writers, moderators, rule-violators and Duck News Hunters. And oh-yeah...I'm a writer and analyst too. You just don't know what you're getting into at times, but I am pleased nonetheless. I've wanted this for Oregon fans and I for a long time...
  2. David, I appreciate your additional perception of how many schools in the Semi-Pro conferences will change their mind later and opt to be in a traditional conference. I mean, being in a super-conference sounds great until you find yourself in the bottom half of it the vast majority of the time. You could have a fine team that narrowly lost a bunch of games and that is now sub-500, and could be a 10 win team elsewhere. My FishDuck Friends,....could this evolve into how we feel about college baseball versus the players who have opted to enter the minor leagues and work their way up in MLB? We recognize that players in the local Eugene "Ems" team are better than the Duck Baseball team, but it does not diminish my passion for Our Beloved Ducks. Is this where our football team and passion for it is ultimately headed? Great article Mr. Marsh!
  3. From now on, the Green Pinned Topic at the top of the forum will be the day's Oregon Sports News and Articles in the FishDuck Feed. The Duck News Hunters and anyone who wants to post an article...please do it in the reply posts below in this thread. Just pop the URL of the article in the post and the article box should appear; if it does not...make sure there is a space above the pasted URL in the post. Please everyone...do not post any thoughts or responses about the articles in this thread as they will be deleted. We do not have room in this thread for all the articles, and the discussion that would ensue for many of the articles. We want discussion, but copy the URL of the article you want to discuss and start a new thread in the main forum area below. It only takes a minute to copy the URL of the article and paste it into a new thread, place a good title on it and put your thoughts in your post. Please do discuss the articles below in the main forum area, and check to be sure that someone else has not started a thread about the same article or topic. If so--join the first one please! 4. I keep remembering how Dan Lanning helped turn some 3-Star players at Georgia into high draft picks...he can do it here! Jeffery Bassa was a stud, and now he's bigger?
  5. As Pennsylvania Duck pointed out in the FD Feed...this does not include transfers! Add them, and he is killing-it! (The list is bigger than what appears in this post, so click inside the box of the tweet to see them) Speaking of killing-it...Pennsylvania Duck just posted the FIFTIETH (50!) Article/tweet/news item in the FishDuck Feed for today. Can you believe that? If you are retired...you can read to your heart's content in the FishDuck Feed all day. Now, Pennsylvania Duck returns to work in a week, and that means the rest of us will need to get to work posting articles in the FishDuck Feed as this wonderful Duck fan has done. He/she will be available for mid-day duty, but we've been spoiled by the superb time given to all of us. What an amazing launch for the FishDuck Feed...
  6. Looks ideal in terms of upside for tight end, and I brought this from the FishDuck Feed as I want it there, and I'd like verbal commits to be in this area too. He has 19 offers including Brigham Young, Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Michigan, Washington, Stanford and Texas. BTW...Pennsylvania Duck is killing-it in the FishDuck Feed with 39 articles, tweets and news items! All in one day thus far? Holy Crap! What a wonderful resource for all Duck fans! 8. I got to pondering this after thinking about the other thread concerning secrecy. Is he a "trick-play" kind of guy? We didn't see hardly any from the last coach, (no surprise) but Taggart, Helf, Chip and even Bellotti were quite willing to mix it up. Part of this is also the question of what is his brand? Will it look foolish or aggressive in his first game as HC? Stick your neck out...will be see any trick plays on offense? On Special Teams? Do you want to see any? Pondering minds want to know... I do want to see some on both offense and special teams; a reverse on a punt or kickoff, and a double-pass?
  9. This is tasty stuff about the new verbals for Dana--what a team this will be! Both these guys sound like they fit the offense so well...thoughts? "...He’s pushing 6-foot-10, he’s a fluid athlete, he’s got really high IQ, particularly on the defensive end — he’s borderline got the ability to be a defensive savant...When he’s got it on, he can step out and make some jump shots, run the floor, catch lobs, block shots, defend on the ball and do all of this crazy stuff. You’ll watch him for a 5-6 minute stretch and be like ‘Oh my god, this guy looks like a top-5 pick in the NBA.’ My FishDuck Friends....this is how we do it when we want to discuss an article that is posted in the FishDuck Feed. 10. I am not complaining about it, but observing and trying to explain it. I agree with David Marsh that it hardly makes sense when you’ve been running the same offense and defense for years and it is all on film.., But this is different. Big opener against a former colleague, and it makes sense to make the Bulldogs prepare for several scenarios. The only time Lanning’s offense and defense is truly unknown is right now.
  11. Coach Lanning ran the Mint defense at Georgia, and I will be explaining and breaking it down just before the opener. But during the Spring Game...he did not show any of the usual alignment that comes with the defense, such as the 4i-0-4i techniques of the three down defensive linemen. He might be keeping Kirby in doubt as to whether he is going to duplicate the same defense at Oregon?
  12. I've heard from many OBD members about how the fade pattern should be back with a very tall receiver room, and I'm delighted with the article by DZC. It is back!

  16. We now have the three parts of the FishDuck Oregon Sports Community; 1) the article site, FishDuck, 2) the only forum with decorum, (OBD!) and now 3) the day's articles in the FishDuck Feed unlike anywhere else. We've already had over 50 articles in one day posted in the FishDuck Feed, and we have access to them without crowding out the great discussion in the main forum area. Why are we adding the FishDuck Feed? I counted up the articles posted one day recently in the main area of the forum below and there were THIRTY ONE of them! (31!) There are so many more great articles out there than I realized and I want a place for them all, and yet have room for tons of conversation about the games/players/coaches when the season starts. I love what the Duck News Hunters are doing, and they are bringing us tons of content, and I want it all for everyone; superb articles from FishDuck that provoke discussion, the safe OBD forum to post in, along with a new platform to hold the day's articles. This is the best Data Aggregator for Duck News than what I've seen in many years...there will be anywhere from 20 to 50 articles in a day in the new FishDuck Feed! We will have a Pinned Topic each day for articles, (the FishDuck Feed) and then the main area below the Pinned Topics are retained for the usual discussion. The Web Developer in England has some thorny tech issues to solve to make this happen in a more automated fashion. The new era of the FishDuck Feed has begun! if you have feedback...email me charles@fishduck.com or reply below and THANKS to Moderators and the Duck News Hunters who give their time for the thousands who read here.

  18. OK...no commentary in the post above the link you are pasting, and no pictures; just post the article URL and the article box will appear in the post and that is all we need. This way the post is smallest in order to allow for scrolling faster through them. It is also much easier for the Duck News Hunters, as they don't have to put in a headline/title, as you are not starting a new thread, but responding to that day's FishDuck Feed post. This could work well, as we would have MORE articles posted, but in their own area. We would have the best collection of Duck News out there each day and it would be free. Cool.

FULL GO: Oregon TE Patrick Herbert Back to 100% in Fall Camp WWW.YARDBARKER.COM It feels like 2022 could be a year of breakouts for numerous players on the Oregon offense. Dont'e Thornton, Bryon Cardwell, Terrance Ferguson and Troy Franklin highlight some of the players fans are most excited to see in Kenny Dillingham's system. One player that may have flown under the radar a bit is tight end Patrick Herbert.

  22. Holy Crap! I just counted up the articles posted yesterday in the main area of the forum below and there were THIRTY ONE of them! (31!) There are so many more great articles out there than I realized and I want a place for them all, and yet have room for tons of conversation about the games/players/coaches when the season starts. I love what the Duck News Hunters are doing, and they are bringing us tons of content, and I want it all for everyone; a safe to post with room to discuss, along with a platform to hold the day's articles. This is the best Data Aggregator for Duck News than what I've seen in many years...31 articles in a day, and it is not even in football season yet! So I am looking at having a Pinned Post each day for articles, (the FishDuck Feed) and then the main area below the Pinned Posts retained for the real discussion. The Web Developer in England has some thorny tech issues to solve to make this happen in a more automated fashion. I was thinking about having one FishDuck Feed Pinned Post for an entire week and have the latest posts on top if the hard code of the site would accommodate it. But I'm thinking now of doing it by the day after the short testing below I've done. I think it would be cool to have one area to go to see the tons of articles that I can scroll through to see what I want to read. Then when one makes me want to comment--I do it below in the main forum area as we normally would. if you have feedback...email me charles@fishduck.com or reply below and THANKS to Moderators and the Duck News Hunters who give their time for the thousands who read here.
