  1. Tulane is located in New Orleans—home of THE BEST marching bands in the US thanks to all the competition in the Mardi Gras parades. So USC doesn’t even have that going for it.
  2. I remember how shocked we all were when Mari landed Gattis. We all wondered how Gattis would handle Mari’s micromanagement. It sure didn’t take long to find out. And can we be sure that Gattis was fired? Did Gattis lay down an ultimatum that Mari wouldn’t agree to?
  3. I was reprimanded on this site for saying KD was on the rotting end of a coaching tree. I will stand by my instincts—KD is untrustworthy and is not a good coach.
  4. This is repellent. Larry Scott is a cockroach who we can’t seem to kill.
  5. “bronny” is a perfect fit at U$C.
  6. This guy got beat by West Linn. Sure, as much as I hate to admit West Linn is good, “bronny” and his dream team were totally unimpressive.
  7. It’s Herbert, so it isn’t salacious, but he is good at recognizing people, and there was one person who was glaringly missing from his vote of confidence. Justin Herbert's comments may spell the end of Joe Lombardi's Chargers career BOLTBEAT.COM The LA Chargers should make some kind of coaching change before the 2023 season and it might be at offensive...
  8. And there it is… Lombardi is gone. Thank goodness!! Chargers finally come to senses and listen to fans, firing Joe Lombardi BOLTBEAT.COM The LA Chargers finally listened to the fans, firing offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi.
  9. I totally ageee w playing the percentages. But maybe he’ll turn out to be another “Big Play” VA. 🤞 As much as I love JH and MM, VA was the most fun to watch IMHO.
  10. DL has history w Hampton. The AAC is just not on the same scale as the Pac. And it’s possible he comes in as a “co-“ coordinator.
  11. This is a class move by Crist0bal.
  12. As a lifelong Tulane fan, I could not be more thrilled w this hire. If any of you saw the way Tulane shut down U$C in the 4th qtr of the Cotton Bowl, you would be too. I can’t wait to hear Riley’s whining.
  13. I loved this article. Herbie represents the Oregon culture so well.
  14. And we must remember that unlike most of the other 1st-yr-coaches in the matrix, this is DL’s first year as a head coach, period. A B+ is pretty impressive.
  15. It wouldn’t be a stretch to think that GA prepared for the Duck game as if it were the CFP championship. And the Ducks def fared better. Just sayin…
  16. @LADuck Great examples. And I appreciate the distinction btwn kids’ coaches and pros. All the examples are blasts from the past. The standards have changed for good reason, which seems like the point you’re making. Those tempers were stupid—teams would have been better off if they dismissed the perpetrators.
  17. If this were any year since ‘33 that would be a dig. I have been a Green Wave fan since birth. At one point I forgot they even had a football team, let alone an FBS team. But in 2023, Tulane is legit. It’s gonna be a great year!
  18. The schadenfreude feels so right.
  19. Also, Tulane is #1 in the FBS at 12-2 against the spread. #2 at 11-2?…. Go Beavs!
  20. My mom is a Tulane alum, and I grew up in NOLA. I attended the Tulane watch party in Los Angeles wearing my green and blue. The sight of Caleb Williams literally pouting like a toddler while he watches his team lose will be one of my favorite bowl season memories of all time. The only better bowl memory is Jameis Winston’s ghost fumble. Go Green Wave!!!
  21. I have played for coaches that lost their temper, and it was never an isolated incident. It was always the worst coaches. The great coaches wouldn’t even think of losing their cool. Young people should not be exposed to that type of poor leadership. It’s a terrible role model and makes the game miserable. And that’s if you’re lucky enough not be the one on the receiving end of the tirade.
  22. I have witnessed an unfortunate number of adults losing their temper, and it is a big deal. LEADERS losing their cool over something silly IS a big deal. I'm sorry you've been inured to negativity, but that doesn't mean that we should tolerate it.
  23. I am a total nerd, so I had to do the math... The Pac-12 had 160% more QBs starting in the NFL than any other league. Fun fact: only 2 FBS teams had multiple QBs starting this week--Cal and Clemson. Mariota could always sneak back into a starting lineup. 2023 is looking to be just as dominant. Pac-12 8 Nick Foles Arizona Aaron Rogers Cal Jared Goff Cal Justin Herbert Oregon Davis Mills Stanford Sam Darnold USC Tyler Huntley Utah Gardner Minshew Washington State ACC 5 Deshaun Watson Clemson Trevor Lawrence Clemson Daniel Jones Duke Teddy Bridgewater Louisville Kenny Pickett Pittsburgh Big-10 5 Tom Brady Michigan Kirk Cousins Michigan State Justin Fields Ohio State David Blough Purdue Russell Wilson Wisconsin SEC 5 Mac Jones Alabama Jarrett Stidham Auburn Joe Burrow LSU Dak Prescott Mississippi State Joshua Dobbs Tennesee Big-12 4 Brock Purdy Iowa State Baker Mayfield Oklahoma Andy Dalton TCU Patrick Mahomes Texas Tech Big EAST 1 Geno Smith WVU AAC 1 Desmond Ridder Cincinatti C-USA 1 Mike White Western Kentucky FCS 1 Carson Wentz North Dakota State Mountain West 1 Josh Allen Wyoming
  24. I really enjoyed watching that—thanks for sharing.
