Nebraska Defensive Line Coach Tony Tuioti to Oregon
Log Haulin replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't know much about Tuioti. Going to have to trust Lanning on this guy. My first thought was that Lanning intends on recruiting the Polynesian community hard on the Defensive front. Other than that, I got nothing. -

Ducks: Growing Pains, Youth Movement and Recruiting
Log Haulin replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Mario was exposed this year. Yea, injury didn't help but these kids were starting to catch on to MC's abilities. Rumors of grumbling in the locker room and Pittman leaving mid season says a lot. Miami put a bandaid on reality but Oregon should be grateful the Canes stepped up. $9 mil, Pfft. Lanning will not only out perform MC on the trail, he will also out perform MC on Saturdays. We are all a little nervous about this class and losing existing talent. Remember that Lanning is preoccupied with coaching the bulldogs to a championship run. After Jan 11 I fully expect the tide will turn for the Ducks on the trail and portal -
Georgia Throws Shade at Bo Nix Coming to Oregon
Log Haulin replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Bulldog fan isn't so sure. Some of them are pretty confident, true. I think a lot of UGA fans are nervous about this game. They watched the Ducks go into the Shoe and man handle tosu. And that was with a guy who can't coach on Saturdays. They are fully aware of who Dan Lanning is. Oregon is the only non-blueblood that the rest of the CFB views as a Blue Blood. This game is going to be epic. -
USC Wire: USC's Coaching Staff Has an Edge Over Oregon's
Log Haulin replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Riley lost 2 games every year with the Sooners. That's pretty impressive. Sooners are a blue blood and most above average coaches could probably match. Now he is at USC, another blue blood. We will see how good of a coach Riley actually is. If he can rebuild U$C into a powerhouse I will be impressed. Recruiting will be easy, Trojans recruit themselves as does all blue blood schools. I like the Idea of SC being dominant again. Especially when Oregon will match in the north. Get Fusky and the Utes consistently strong, specifically against ooc powerhouses, and the Pac will start getting respect again. Ducks held serve in the Shoe, now it's the Utes turn. -
He photo shopped #10. Not a good start.

Injury played a big part in Oregon's season. They still won 10 games but it very easily could have been 5. MC dodged a bullet and cashed out with Miami. He knows it and every fan that watched knows it. The offense was one dimensional and the Defense was out of position all year. I think a lot of these kids played their hearts out. If you are playing behind the play all game it has to take it's toll. Miami is about to find out.

Every one of our young QB have 4 years of eligibility? If so, at least one will transfer. The other two will finally get coached up. Bo has seen a lot of football and he is better than AB. This is going to be an old QB room. Thats not necessarily a bad thing. I hope TT sticks around but if not, Nix gives a young incoming coaching staff time to assess the QB situation. They are all familiar with BN and worst case they recruit and develop. Something the last coach apparently failed to do.

Saw this coming already. If MC and his coaching staff can't coach up players it is just another reason to thank the U. Gotta trust the new staff. Bo Nix can play and has played his best football under Dillingham. Nix also knows the system. Hopefully the younger guys will be developed starting Jan 12.

Losing this bowl won't affect recruiting any more than winning it will help. It's going to come down to Lanning and his staff. Other than the CFP the rest of the bowls don't matter in recruiting with all the no shows these days. DL on the trail with a title belt will have more credibility than an Alamo win.

Mykael Wright Opts for the NFL Draft
Log Haulin replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
How are defensive players leaving. With what Lanning could tech them. Make some cash with NIL and increase your draft stock and position your self a little better for success. I get the injury argument. -
Doesn't matter. Still a ton of talent on this team. It ain't over, Feb is a long way out. Lanning hits the trail on Jan 12 hopefully boasting national champ. His defense. Ducks will be fine. If McClendon is in fact going to the U, he should leave now.

Okie is going through the same issues.

Coach Lanning: “Oregon’s a Premier Brand"

That one stings a little. Dudes a beast. Moving on.

There is the old saying "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...". Slick Willie was the original sin. The guy was a hustler and Mullens fell for his scam, as did many Duck faithful. He rode that con to a huge payday with FSU. That's on Willie. Then came MC. He sold the players and they wrote the letter. I don't know that MC's game was an actual con. MC, I think, believes himself to be something he is not. He is dam good at selling others on the idea and vision, but Mario has no idea how to bring great football to fruition on the field at game time. I have said that Oregon won on raw talent despite MC's inept game day coaching. My first thoughts of "Uh oh" came with the first time-out of Marios first game on the sideline. My brother (huge fusky fan) and I talked about Marios coaching abilities from that point on. He knew and I knew, I just wasn't going to let him know I knew. And Fusky had Peterson, dang it! He loved watching me squirm at the thought. Now we have Lanning. Time will tell if we are being duped a third time. A lot of the same writing on the wall. But this time it feels different. Lanning seems genuine. He doesn't have the HC experience SWT and MC had. He does however, have a resume that boasts actual leadership of a unit to unparalleled heights, as does his OC. Something both previous coaches lacked. I have fully bought into Lanning and his vision. Something I never did with with MC or Slick Willie. I love the vision of the Oregon Ducks new youth movement. One day I hope to congratulate PK and RM. This could bring Mullens to being considered one of the greatest AD's in College Football. Going to be a heck of a ride the next couple years.

They haven't signed yet.

Tree signed 20 of their 21. Oregon signed 7. Time will tell but at the end of the day Oregon will be just fine. Even if Oregon whiffs, they are loaded with very talented freshman and sophomores. Ducks are in great shape. As bad as MC is at game time coaching he did leave the UofO full of talent.
