Did the SEC Save Indiana's Bacon, Or Are the Hoosier's Playoff Chances Toast?
After what I saw yesterday from Bama, Indiana would beat them by two scores. Milroe is a pretty terrible QB. He has two plays. Break contain and run or chuck it deep to the Freshman.

Welcome to Your New Conference
I seriously wonder if the Pac 12 handed out their championship trophy this year. You know Beavis would display it proudly next to their CWS trophies.

The SEC is Mad and They Aren't Going to Take it Anymore!
The SEC bias was based on the Nick Saban effect. He never had one recruiting class that didn’t win a national championship from 2007 to 2020. After the 2009 season until his retirement he never had roster that didn’t have a national champion on it. That will never happen again because of the way recruiting has changed. We will soon see more of a program bias rather than a conference bias. However, you will see Kirby Smart win more national championships and I think Dan Lanning is capable of doing the same. The reason I say this is because great coaches will always be the X-factor when it comes to championships and I think Kirby and Dan are the best out there.

Oregon Remains Unanimous No. 1 in Latest AP Poll
Bama is sitting at 13 with two losses to unranked teams. They’re just waiting to see who loses the ACC championship, so they can slide them into a playoff spot. However, even the committee can’t stop them from getting jumped by the Big 12 champion, so they’re going to need a couple of losses. Bama’s best bet is for USC East to beat Clemson, Miami to beat SMU and UGA to lose. They would probably jump a 3 loss UGA team since they beat them in a head to head matchup.

Ohio State 38 Indiana 15: What Do You Make of This?
Could OSU beat Oregon. Of course. As much as I would love for the team to win the trophy, I think they would still only fall to #2 and grab the 5th seed in the playoff. For those who don’t know about the bracket, the 5th seed plays the 12th seed at home (likely the Big 12 champ) and then the 4th seed which is the worst of the other conference champs (likely Boise State). So, in short, losing the B1G championship game won’t be the end of the world.

So, Who is the Best Team in the SEC?
Ole Miss has three losses against unranked teams. Bama has two losses against unranked teams. A&M has one loss against an unranked team. The funny thing about this is the Aggies can still make the SECCG next week with a win. The committee has also said they won’t overlook a conference championship game runner up because they’re still considered the second best team in the best conference. So, it’s feasible that a four loss A&M team could be in the playoff.

Bammer fans have accepted their fate and have moved on to “backing the Brinks truck up to Dan Lanning’s house”.

So, Who is the Best Team in the SEC?
I would argue that Notre Dame is playing some of the best football in the country right now.

Things have certainly changed since you wrote this.

Ohio State 38 Indiana 15: What Do You Make of This?
It proves OSU is better than Indiana just like Oregon beating Oregon State last year 31-7 proved OBD was better than Beavis. Nothing more, nothing less.

Transfer Portal Musings
You obviously have the insider knowledge of the Duck locker room that I do not possess. So, if you say we need to get a QB out of the portal then I guess we do. I haven’t been able to gauge Novosad or Moore’s ability to play through their garbage time kneel downs.

I’m watching some D2 Football playoff action. The Harding (AR) Bisons are leading the Pittsburgh State (KS) Gorillas 7-3. I came to the conclusion that there are not enough teams out there with the gorilla as a mascot. Very underrated.

The SEC is Mad and They Aren't Going to Take it Anymore!
I’ll end this argument right here. The bottom line up front is the SEC’s top tier has too many losses to bad teams. The top 4 teams in the B1G’s record against teams NOT named Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State and Indiana. 37 wins vs. 0 losses. The top 6 teams in the SEC’s record against teams NOT named Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas and Texas A&M. 44 wins - 6 losses (4 of these losses are against unranked teams). Three of the SEC’s top six teams have losses to unranked teams while the B1G’s top four teams haven’t lost to anyone outside of the top 5.

Transfer Portal Musings
I would rather get two skilled and experienced OT's from the portal than get a highly experienced transfer QB. Oregon is going to need a good OL next season for any QB to be successful.
