  1. I hope you guys didn’t get too much damage. Please give an update when possible. I live in NC, so we got a lot of rain, but the wind was minimal. No real damage in my area.
  2. Judging from this article from earlier this year, the paranoia is well founded. DL has probably experienced some unconventional cheating methods from his past few jobs. Inside the sideline paranoia of a college football coach - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM College football coaches will do anything to protect their plays and believe everyone is out to get them: from ball boys to the chain gang to fans in the stands.
  3. Coaching Against Prime 101: 1. Put in 3rd stringer 2. Have 3rd stringer start a fight 3. Watch 3rd stringer take a beating in full pads 4. Watch opposing team’s starters get ejected 5. Beat opposing team’s back-ups mercilessly
  4. This is an interesting concept. The University of South Carolina is teaming up with Iron Hands Brewing to make a beer that will help fund NIL. I’ll be down there in October for the Florida game. I’m sure one of these will find its way to my lips. I know Oregon has Nike, but I think something like this has legs if it lines up with state ABC laws. Garnet Trust announces new Gamecock beer to benefit NIL - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Garnet Trust, the Official NIL partner of South Carolina Athletics, have teamed up with Steel Hands Brewing to create a beer to benefit NIL.
  5. The New Belgium Brewery in Asheville, NC has collaborated with NCSU to make a team beer. Part of the proceeds go to the school’s brewing and fermentation department. The R&D Brewing Company has also teamed up with a couple of different local universities. Aside from App State’s Mountain Brew most of these are under 5% ABV. They say it’s to promote responsible drinking, but we all know they’re just trying to sell a lot of cans.
  6. This is terrible news. I heard rumors last night on X, but now The Oregonian has reported it. He apparently drowned in the Clackamas River. Portland man, 44, drowns in Clackamas River at Riverside Park WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Herman Ryan Hoching jumped from a cement water intake structure in the middle of the...
  7. They were probably a giddy about future CW’s in their new stadium. I’m sure they thought it was going to be louder than Autzen. Now it’s going to sit half filled during their epic border clashes with Boise, WSU and Nevada.
  8. Sometimes teams get the right coach with the right players at the right time. That’s what happened to WSU and OSU. However, both coaches only stuck around for a couple of years afterward and left for what they thought were greener pastures. Erickson got fired by the Seahawks and Price’s Bama story doesn’t need explaining. Neither of these coaches really moved the needle in college football afterward. The Beavers hired a great coach (IMHO) afterward and came close to the Rose Bowl a couple of times, but they were thwarted in dramatic fashion both times in their final Pac 10 game. They haven’t really been good since 2009 not counting last season. WSU had one more good year under Doba with Price’s players, but he was terrible from then on. Leach was a great hire for them, but he could never with the division. Good programs maintain some sort of success after going through coaching changes which I think is the product of a good administration. A bad AD can bury a football program for years due to bad hiring/firing decisions. Oregon has won the PAC with 4 different coaches since Rich Brooks left, so somebody is doing something right. The detractors will say it’s Uncle Phil’s $$$, but that hasn’t kept the coaches from leaving.
  9. I think UNC and NCSU will go to the same conference and it will be a battle between the B1G and SEC. Both conferences will want those Raleigh and Charlotte TV markets since they’re two of the fastest growing cities in the U.S. It will come down to who offers the most money.
  10. I look at the PAC 12 the same as I do a failing company that can’t hold onto their top talent because they refuse to pay them what they’re worth. These companies continuously make bad decisions which results in cut benefits and lower pay. Then, they get mad when their employees take off for greener pastures and question their loyalty. The Pac 12 did this to themselves. As far as continuing the rivalry with OSU, it’s a great opportunity for both schools to fill their stadiums and be home in time for dinner after an away game. It would be stupid for OSU to discontinue the rivalry out of spite. Just make it an annual non-conference match-up like FSU/UF or Clemson/USC.
  11. He has a great social media presence and decent hands.
  12. You’re absolutely correct. Shough doesn’t hate Oregon. I know for a fact he hates Moorhead. Maybe Mario as well. After all, he drove them down for an opening TD in the Fiesta Bowl and then got pulled.
  13. I’ve been to Jones Stadium on a big weekend. It was against Texas back in 2000. Tortillas were flying, cattle feces filled the air and the students were rowdy, but it was anything but loud. Their stadium just doesn’t hold noise like Autzen does. They will still have an advantage because of the heat and wind. If the Ducks can find their running game then it will be lights out for Tech.
  14. With the new transfer rules there is an expectation to win immediately. This means the coaches are on an even shorter leash than they were before. Therefore, they’re treating their rosters like an NFL coach would. This means making cuts and signing free agents. The worst thing to happen to Brian Kelly at LSU was Kim Mulky winning the national championship in her second season. I’m sure their AD got on the phone with him after the championship game and said “It’s your turn”.
  15. Coach Prime is down to about 20 scholarship players. By my estimation he is going to née about 65 more pieces of Louis Vuitton luggage. https://twitter.com/fos/status/1650582663692972033?s=61&t=WX35WbECMt6xVxjRnTNrmg
  16. They’re going into the season with a national championship mindset. Their passing game is pretty dynamic, but do they have the defense to pull off a Pac 12 championship to even get to the playoff? I don’t think so. Like this article states, they have USC, Utah, Oregon and OSU. All of those games will be shootouts. Washington's 'expectations' include CFP title after turnaround WWW.ESPN.COM Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. sounded confident and committed in an interview with ESPN, saying the Huskies, who authored a turnaround season last year, have set their...
  17. A legend in the state of Oregon. My folks knew him since they were teenagers in Medford. Sad day.
  18. People who are happy in their current situation don’t make public statements like this. It sounds like he’s sending a message to his current coaching staff.
  19. Unfortunately, Oregon still has a reputation as a stepping stone school. Outsiders look at the coaches and say: “If they’re doing great at a place like Oregon then they will be twice as good at our school. Let’s throw a bunch of money at them and lure them away”.
  20. They signed one safety and got one CB via transfer. They did a horrible job of bolstering their most glaring weakness.
  21. Dickey because I think he’s a Week-1 starter. I’m also the most nervous about him because I feel like he could be gone in an instant.
  22. I’ve been to Williams-Brice Stadium for a game. It’s a pretty awesome atmosphere. They also have really good facilities. USC just needed the right coach to get them back to at least where Spurrier had them. I think Beamer is that guy. Add in the fact that Columbia is a bigger city and I could see why he chose them. His parents might be happy until they have to deal with that post-game traffic as regular fans. If they thought a cross country flight was long just wait until they try to get back out to the interstate after a Gamecock home game.
  23. I wish he had picked the Ducks, but I’m glad to see he repping Bojangles. They got some good chicken and the biscuits are always fresh.
  24. Word on the street is Arroyo is the top candidate to replace him. I don’t see a big improvement. Miami dismisses Josh Gattis as OC after one season WWW.ESPN.COM Miami has fired Josh Gattis as offensive coordinator after one season after the Hurricanes fell...
