  1. It’s a move that I might save for a championship game. Leave it to Riley to burn it against Northwestern.
  2. 21-14 USC. It should probably be 21-14 NW since they fumbled an interception return out of the end zone. Number 6 for USC is a playmaker. He’s a problem for defenses.
  3. Another good strategy. Not just because of field position and weather, but also because Camden Sappingdonado is in a slump. OBD either need to punt or sacrifice a live chicken before the game to ward off the evil kicking spirits. If that doesn't work then maybe they can borrow Jobu from Pedro Cerrano.
  4. Jonathan Smith has recruiting relationships on the West Coast and he ran a pretty good offense for the fuskies before coming to OSU and completely turning that program around. It seemed like he went to MSU because he had to. Not because he wanted to. I hope he doesn't go to Seattle because OBD might not be able to steal as many of their local recruits if he comes back.
  5. This should be the strategy, but I will add one more thing. Punt the ball out of bounds. Their returner averages 25 yards per return and has two touchdowns. He also has eight kickoffs for 262 yards (long of 100 yards) and one touchdown so OBD should probably kick away from him. He could be the difference between a one-score win and a one-score loss.
  6. Wisconsin is giving Fickell another season. That came out yesterday. I don't think Smith is welcome back in Corvallis. There are many good, young OC's out there right now who could replace Stein. Namely, Jordan Davis (UNT), Landon Koepple (TX State), and John David Baker (ECU). They all have top rated offenses in CFB. Josh Pate said this the other day on the Bussin' podcast: “Let’s just keep an eye on Lincoln Riley at USC.” There is speculation that if Aranda get s fired at Baylor or McGuire gets lured away from TTU then he's gone. Dr. Jack's Hot Take of the Day: Fisch leaves UW and Jonathan Smith replaces him. Brian Kelly replaces Smith at MSU. You heard it here first.
  7. This is an expectation and not an official announcement. He could probably use another year in college before going pro. Dante Moore Reportedly Expected to Return to Oregon, Forg...The quarterback class in the 2026 NFL draft might not be as strong as expected, with Dante Moore reportedly leaning toward staying at Oregon for another season.
  8. I hope this isn't one of those games where he goes for it on 4th down six or seven times. Oregon should be fine in the rain. Especially if they took the opportunity to practice in it this past week. I believe it's been nice all week in Iowa, so they would have to simulate wet conditions. It's not like they throw that well anyway. They're 119th in total offense.
  9. I'm surprised you didn't see any 2010 or 2014 Oregon Ducks National Champions shirts.
  10. No. Brock is a downgrade. Especially against the Iowa defense.
  11. If Michigan wins out and Oregon wins out then is there a chance Oregon is in the B1G Championship game? The tie-breakers are pretty confusing. Michigan trumps OSU because of H2H win which is the first tie-breaker. This is where I get confused. Does this automatically put Michigan in the CG or do they bump Michigan up against Oregon? I don't know. If they did then Oregon would have the most wins over common opponents (USC) which is the second tie-breaker. What if Michigan goes to the CG and beats Indiana? I would like to see how the committee sorts that out. They would almost be forced to put all four teams in the playoff. Notre Dame would likely get pushed out if that happened.
  12. If Oregon can't win out then how successful would they really be in the playoffs? I know, I know, Ohio State made it and won it all last year even with a loss to Michigan. However, they had H2H wins against Indiana and Penn State, the most talented roster in CFB and it was obvious they closed their playbook against Michigan.
  13. I guess he just left and ghosted the coaching staff.
  14. UT and Oklahoma's grades are puzzling. They're beneficiaries of the SEC self-licking ice cream cone.
  15. One thing last season’s OSU game (and 2013 Tennessee and 2017 Nebraska) taught me was Oregon fans have no problem parting with their tickets if the price is right. However, I do realize that there were a few Buckeye fans who bought Oregon season ticket packages just for that game.
  16. Ah, yes. I was thinking of OU with the Michigan win. Notre Dame just has Pitt left. Don't forget that Texas and OU will likely have at least three losses each. OU has to go to Bama and Texas hosts UGA and ATM.
  17. If OBD gets a home game in the playoffs they better hope it's against somebody like UVA or Memphis. Every other team that is projected as a possible playoff contender has fans that travel. The CFP will take over ticket sales which will eliminate the student section. I would say that a game against a team like Notre Dame, Texas, OU, etc. would draw at least 25K visiting fans. Not much of a home game. Ohio State had 15K+ last year without the benefit of buying out the student section.
  18. That's a good mentality for the team to have. However, I think a two-loss B1G team will make the playoffs. Whether it's Oregon, Iowa, USC, Michigan or Washington I think they will they give the B1G the benefit of the doubt.
  19. This committee is going off the eyeball test. If Oregon beats Iowa, USC and fuskies they will all be unranked the following week making the wins moot. However, Oregon will still be in the playoff with wins against zero ranked teams. Notre Dame is just as bad. Once Michigan loses to OSU they will be unranked which will nullify ND's best win and give them zero wins against ranked teams. Notre Dame also plays 24th ranked Pitt in two weeks but they will render them unranked with a win.
  20. One reason I dislike this system is it does not factor in H2H matchups. Texas has the same record but they dominated OU in their game on a neutral field. Texas has a bad loss, but also a one score loss to OSU.
  21. This is a great read. Robby Ashford and Mario Cristobal are featured in this article, so there is some interest for Oregon fans. I was surprised what Ashford went through at Auburn. They are an absolute abomination of a program from the coaches all the ay to the fan base. Tyler Van Dyke tells an all-to-familiar tale of being a QB under Mario Cristobal. From the hot starts to the cold finishes and all of the broken promises in between. ESPN.com'Wouldn't necessarily say I'm trash': A tale of four jour...Chandler Morris, Robby Ashford, Drew Pyne and Tyler Van Dyke are still chasing glory in Year 6.
  22. If I had to guess I would say he has the following OC's on his list. Jordan Davis from UNT has the nation's sixth best offense. Landon Koepple from Texas St. has the nation's 15th best offense and John David Baker leads the nation's 13th best offense for East Carolina. Baker is an interesting prospect because he was co-OC at Ole Miss from 2021-2023 and was a 2024 Broyles Award nominee in his first season with ECU. All of these guys fit the mold of young and energetic coaches that Dan Lanning likes. Now, the guy who leads the top offense in the nation could be jobless by season's end if Mike Norvell gets fired, but I doubt Gus Malzahn would come out west nor do I think DL would consider him.
