The Joe Moore Award winners currently have about 60 yards rushing against Navy with under a minute left in the first half. They’re going to have to be better than that if they want to win this game. I disagree. The same thing happens in the Rose Bowl, the Fiesta Bowl, national championship games, etc. Even home games are an embarrassment. Look at the pictures from the Tennessee game in 2013 or the Nebraska game in 2017. The quotes on social media revolved around the theme that “It’s easy to take over their little stadium“. Say what you want about proportionality, the Ducks need to be built for the road after the regular season.

For a national brand, Oregon is horribly underrepresented. The B1G Championship game was proof that. I just think Duck fans are a bit more mature about their college football fandom compared to traditional brands. For example, when the SEC says “It just means more”, they’re saying that buying Sugar Bowl tickets just means more than buying nutritious food, diapers and toilet paper for a few months.

Only 12,000 Tickets Allotted To The School?

The sad part about this is they will gladly resell to a Buckeye or Vol fan just to make a few extra dollars. -
Same with Kris Hutson.

Are Duck Fans Suffering from PTSD?

I will also argue that the 2019 loss to ASU was a blessing in disguise. Had OBD made the playoff they would've faced LSU in the first round. Those dudes beat Oklahoma 63-28 in the first round. They would've beaten Mario's archaic system so badly that Miami would've never touched him. -

Oddly enough, it's not the local rivals who are doing the most whining. It's the blue bloods who are used to being at the top of the food chain. They thought Oregon was nice story. A flash in the pan with the fast offense and cool uniforms. Now that OBD is being built like them and getting the recruits that they're used to getting, they're mad as hell. They see Phil Knight and immediately blame his wallet. -

This is why I'm not going to be too heartbroken if this season doesn't end the way I want it to. This program looks like it's being built for the long haul. Even if DL leaves at some point his tenure will show potential coaches that Oregon is committed to the future, and it will be an attractive destination. From the dedication to building new facilities to the way the NIL is run, this program is set up to win. Nike doesn't just throw money at Oregon, they lend their sports science, equipment technology and business acumen to the Duck athletic programs. One of my favorite things to see on social media is other fans complaining how Oregon is buying rosters. They don't understand how the program manages their NIL program. They think that if your throw a ton of money at something then winning will be the result. If that was the case, Auburn would be bathing in championships. Money helps, but management and leadership are the most important thing. -

Only 12,000 Tickets Allotted To The School?
DrJacksPlaidPants replied to Babyjesus615's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Oregon fans travel well to a major bowl game. Ohio State outnumbered us almost 2 to 1 in the 2010 Rose Bowl and national championship. Hell, they almost had 30% of Autzen Stadium this year. My guess is either OSU or Tennessee will have significantly more fans in LA on January 1st. Auburn, KSU, Wisconsin, Penn State (B1G CG) all showed up in droves and made the Oregon crowd look small. However, this year’s team responded well in Indy, so the lack of Duck fans shouldn’t affect them too much. -

The same thing happened to the Penn State student section. Apparently, the CFP controls the tickets for playoff games.
