  1. I’ve noticed that most of the guys who transferred away from Oregon didn’t have much of an impact on the field for their new teams. Tre Benson and Kingsley Suamataia are notable exceptions. However, I think Dowdell will do big things.
  2. One of my favorite things to see on CanesInSight is “Oregon fans were right”.
  3. I hope he doesn’t show up and turn into complete garbage like every other scholarship kicker this millennium. NOTE: Aiden Schneider and Henry Katelman were walk-on’s.
  4. From what I have heard, it was inferred that he wouldn’t be part of FSU’s future as a starting QB. Kind of like Ty Thompson. So, he basically said “Screw this. Why should I stick around and help this coaching staff out”? It’s probably not a bad idea since the entire offense has opted out. I don’t think there would be much in the way of useful film unless he wants to showcase his ability to pick grass out of his face mask and break the Orange Bowl interception record.
  5. Colorado is 9-16 all time vs. the Ducks. In the last 30 years they have one conference championship to Oregon’s six. The last time they won their conference they got spanked 38-16 in the Fiesta Bowl.
  6. It’s as if they think DL just decided to trash their team because he’s jealous of Deion. I will say this. Dan Lanning showed mercy in the 2nd half. On a personal note, If I was Oregon’s coach and that kind of stuff happened during the pre-game I would have scored non-stop and I would’ve made certain that Sheduer Sanders left the field on a back board. I too lack nobility.
  7. The Ducks have only lost to one G5 team in the last 15 years. Unfortunately, they’ve lost to that team 3 times.
  8. Just so we all agree that a steak shouldn’t be cooked well done. It should merely be walked through a warm room.
  9. Junior likes laying by the fire and Kevin always has an interesting pose.
  10. Exactly! American Standard could put Weber and Igloo out of business in one felled swoop if they weren’t so good at making toilets.
  11. I think I would prefer to live in a van down by the river and use this grill rather than live in a complex that doesn’t allow outdoor grilling. Keep in mind that this is coming from a guy who hasn’t cooked a holiday meal in the oven in years. Everything is done on the Kamado or smoker. This year it’s a fresh ham. It’s been brining for the past 5 days and it will be ready to smoke on Christmas Day.
  12. There are very few steaks that can be cooked on the stovetop. The fancy French stuff that CalBear brought up and chicken fried steak. However, pan frying a steak should be a misdemeanor at best. Punishable by a small fine that can be waived in lieu of taking a grilling class.
  13. Agree to disagree (except on your cuts of meat). Beef tastes better when cooked over natural wood with just sea salt and cracked black pepper. Although, finishing the steak in a cast iron pan with butter is acceptable, but only if the pan is on an open flame. If DL continues to cook steaks like that we won’t have to worry about UT or A&M ever trying to lure him away. He won’t be allowed residency in the state of Texas.
  14. It should be illegal to cook a steak indoors in a pan on the stovetop. I guess this is what happens when your life is consumed by football and you don’t have time to watch shows like BBQ Pitmasters or The Pioneer Woman to draw inspiration.
  15. This article tells me a lot of things I didn’t know about the recruiting process. We always hear about the guy who “de-committed” or “flipped” from one program to the next. What I gather from this article is that there are programs that “de-offer” and flip to a better recruit. This isn’t something we hear about, but likely happens. This is the kind of thing we’re not used to in Eugene, but I’m sure the “de-offer” manifests itself in the form of an unattractive alternative such as a gray-shirt or an incentive based NIL deal that is unreachable. With the transfer rules we have these days it looks like an early offer means about as much as an early commitment. And that’s OK. Except, you don’t want the reputation as a programs that pulls scholarship offers at the last minute.
  16. Helfrich was to Oregon what Barry Switzer was to the Cowboy. Or if you want to use a CFB example, what Larry Coker was to the Miami Hurricanes. These guys carried the torch for their predecessors, but everyone knew their time was short. For Helfrich, the 2016 season was his demise, but he was as good as gone after 70-21. No CFB coach from a program that has an ounce of self respect survives a loss like that to a hated rival. As for Fentress, he said it all when he said the conference championship was won with Helfrich’s players. Two other coaches came in and never had a losing season with his guys. If any coach should have gone 4-8 with those players it was Taggart. Losing Herbert for six weeks really put him behind the eight ball. However, he managed a seven win season. That should tell you how bad of a coach Helfrich was.
  17. I don’t think we have to worry about it. He’s down to one school and that’s Ole Miss. Oregon is in the mix because he needs a second hat to lay on the table when he makes his “dramatic” choice. It reminds me of DJU making his choice between Clemson and Oregon. Duck fans knew there was no chance of landing him. Good thing, too. Mario would’ve destroyed his confidence.
  18. A signed NLI for LDS’s used to mean something before the new transfer rules. Bair has no real reason to sign one because neither he nor the university will be beholden to it. Something tells me he’s going to end up at BSU or BYU in a couple of years.
  19. Good flip, but this tells me that Bair is most likely going to be a Wolverine.
  20. Only one left to sign his NLI is Mothudi. It appears that he won’t sign until 3:00 PST.
  21. I find it best to talk about it openly and not keep it bottled up. It’s also a great retort for the “Oregon treated Helfrich too harshly” crowd. This and 70-21.
  22. I have a feeling Novosad will be moving on. I hope he sticks around for the Fiesta Bowl, though. We’re running low on backup QB’s.
