Is This the Next Logical Step for Conferences?
Most universities get federal money, I have a feeling Fox and ESPN might be getting a smack down soon. I know there was a big ta do when conferences fought for their own TV money, but I have a feeling it will be full circle. Also, what are the exact rules for CFP? Aren't there 11-12 people one from each conference and ND making decisions? Is there enough eyes for B1G Ten and SEC to just say, we are going to have our own thing? I know they have a majority of the major names, but if you take away everybody else, is it really the same thing?

Transfer Portal Restrictions Pending
Athletes are still able to move freely, but have to make a decision in a small time frame. I think it is a great idea.

Canzano: Here's Hoping the Rose Bowl Makes It
Nice find McDuck. If that is the case, it would be sweet if Pasadena said sorry, no B1G Ten games can be played here. Of course, they won't do that because they get a lot of money from football games. However, if is fun to think of them pulling the stadium from UCLA.
-
Canzano: Here's Hoping the Rose Bowl Makes It
With the Rose Bowl owned by UCLA, I'm not sure the Pac 12 have any say in the matter. It is a terrible stadium. The sight lines are terrible. Everything is old and worn.

Is San Diego State an Answer?
Why would BYU jump on the Pac 12 ship, when it already has hitched their wagon to the Big 12?

Is San Diego State an Answer?
It might dilute the TV money, but getting back to 12 would be a wise decision for the Pac 12. San Diego St. and UNLV make the most sense. San Diego St. has been good in football and men's hoops recently. If they get real money, they can likely stay there. UNLV has been good in the past in men's hoops and with money hopefully they can be in football.

Oregon vs. Georgia Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game Officially Sold Out!
I know StubHub/Ticketmaster etc have thousands individuals that buy the max tickets allowed to certain events, so they can resell them. Sucks, if you are a true fan. I know my buddy who is into concerts, one of his groups that always sell out has a random draw. He gets me and other friends to put in a request and hopes one of us get tickets.

Pac-12 Football TV Viewership the Past 5 Years
They will fall down the rankings once their CFP run is off the table. They are a big market and have a fan base that isn't as fair weather as the LA schools.

Ducks Cardwell on Doak Walker Award Watch List
Cardwell is one of 10 Pac-12 running backs on the preseason watch list. Oregon has had one Doak Walker Award winner in its history – LaMichael James in 2010. The last Duck to be named a semifinalist or better for the award was Royce Freeman in 2017. Cardwell On Doak Walker Award Watch List - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM Byron Cardwell is on the preseason watch list for the 2022 Doak Walker Award after leading the Pac-12 with 6.84 yards per carry as a freshman.

Is San Diego State an Answer?
Another thing to remember about UNLV and San Diego St. and maybe Fresno St., if you bring them up to Power 5, their viewership would likely increase. Even when Alabama plays sisters of the peace, their TV viewership goes down. When you play against good teams, your fan base wants to watch more. They can't replace the LA TV market, but they would likely have a bigger TV audience than OSU and Arizona in 4 years after they had a full rotation of recruiting at the Power 5 level.

Notre Dame Asking for $75 Million in Next TV Contract
How could NBC find the extra money? By adding what in the business is called "shoulder programming": or, other Power Five college football games to air around Notre Dame's that would help support that rise in value. College football realignment: Notre Dame names its price for independence - College Football HQ WWW.SI.COM Notre Dame remains the one major program yet to make any moves during the latest phase of college football realignment. But up to now, the Irish have maintained I can't see any network giving ND 75 Million per year. They are headed to the B1G TEN, but didn't they say they don't want schools that don't add 80-100 mill in TV money? If nobody is willing to give up 75 mil to ND, shouldn't the B1G TEN also turn them down?

What Has Hosting World T&F Championships Been Like for Locals in Eugene?
The local restuarants immediately around Hayward are not as happy as they thought they would be. Once in the meet, you can't leave. So, they are not busy during meet time because all the extra people are in the meet. The last I heard, there was no hotel space for 2 hours in any direction of Eugene. My daughter has practice at/near one of the places where they are allowing athletes to, so I have seen a few foreign visitors. The local news has run stories of foreigners coming to the meet. Eugene is a track savvy town, so there are quite a few locals at the meet. My wife works close to where they are having non track event festival all week, so her office took the whole week off. If you look at Google maps, the Festival is on the south side of the Willamette River between Coburg Rd and Ruth Bascom Bike Path.

Big 12, Pac-12 May be Realizing They're Worth More Together Than Apart
I'm not sure what the by laws are for the B1G TEN/SEC, but why do the historical B1G TEN/SEC unversities get any say in this new world? I'd say half of them don't move the needle in football or men's basketball in both conferences. Why is each league still allowing TV losers to be in the conference? Also, I find it odd that the B1G TEN added Rutgers and Maryland for their TV numbers, yet they don't come close to UO or UW in TV numbers. Either it matters or it doesn't. I think the only reason why Vanderbilt is in the SEC is to give them scholastic cache. Vandy had a winning record since 2000: 2008(7-6), 2012 (9-4) and 2013 (9-4). Before that it was 1982 (8-4). Since 1980 they have won 6 or more games only those 4 times.

Could Teams Outside of SEC/B1G Be Left Out in the Cold
I don't know the "rules" that make up the CFP, but B1G and SEC only have 2 of 11 votes if every conference gets a vote. I have a feeling if the B1G and SEC try and say we will do our own thing the federal government may get involved.

Big 12, Pac-12 May be Realizing They're Worth More Together Than Apart
I have said it before and I know it wouldn't be easy, but football and maybe basketball have their own conferences and the rest of sports keep it regional. TV contracts would be a mess, but it could keep more schools afloat.

Canzano: 'UCLA's Leadership Will be Cowering for Forgiveness'
Unless state/federal money is being pulled, I don't see why UCLA would not go to the B1G TEN. We are talking 40-60 million more per year. That is a lot of money, even if half of it is eaten up by travel costs.
