  1. It seems to be a consistent message that the Pac 12 is going to share revenue evenly. If USC and UCLA wanted a bigger slice of the pie, how do you remedy that? I do like the idea of successful schools get a larger portion of the bowl money, march madness money, playoffs, etc... You don't take everything away, but when only a few schools have been successful at football and basketball, they do deserve a bit more of the revenue.
  2. I thought Charles asked us to stop posting about this incident as it could lead us down the wrong path?

  7. Streaming absolutely wouldn't end night games for the Pac 12. Every TV station or streamer wants the most possible eyes watching games. Let's say you have tOSU vs Mich, Alabama vs Georgia, Oklahoma vs Texas, Clemson vs Miami all on the same day. Do you believe the Pac 12 would stream a game on at the same time those teams are playing, if there was no game showing at night? Streaming could help reduce some night games, but it is all about eye balls. Why do you think the NFL only shows 1 or 2 games at the same time? Why do you think the NFL shows certain teams in certain areas? Streaming would not be a cure all for night games. I'm a season ticket holder in Eugene and I would prefer kick off no later than 5:00, but since we are on the west coast and in the PST, I know we won't ever fully get rid of night games.
  8. @Mudslide What are you referring to about not having apple devices? My family doesn't own a single apple device either, but we can still stream. 100% understand not liking Amazon. Unfortunately, when we are talking about sports, they rarely care about the older demographics. They want to get people hooked when they are in their teens. Anybody with kids, knows you need to have good internet at home. Having a good internet connection is not an issue with the demographic they are trying to get. Bars would pay an extra $50-$100 a month for better internet, it would be a drop in the bucket. It is easier than you think to set up 10-20 TVs. It doesn't take as many devices as you think.
  9. If Amazon gave the Pac 12 crazy money, I don't have a problem going 100% streaming. Streaming means you could have all Pac 12 teams playing at the same time and every fan of a Pac 12 school could watch their team play and not worry about ESPN/Fox choosing which game will have the highest TV rating. The people who care/matter about college football will watch the game no matter how the game is shown. If you have cable/satellite, then you can stream. There have been some arguments about rural area having problems seeing games. 90% of games are on ESPN or Fox Sports, so there already is limited games in rural areas. Streaming isn't going to dramatically reduce viewership.
  10. At this point SDSU is the best team left not in a power 5 conference or have been invited to one. Some can argue about SMU, but if we are trying to stay Pac, SDSU is #1. Also, we need to think about the student population at the university. SMU has less than 7,000 students. SDSU has over 33,000. UNLV over 25,000. Fresno St. over 24,000. Nevada over 17,000. I think we need to go with bigger student body. We need alumni bases to be big because that is how sports stay on top or get on top. Surprisingly, the Pac 12 is on par with the other P5 conferences with average student population. I don't think they can go with schools with small student population.
  11. If you want your conference to be taken seriously for a CFP birth, you need to win your non conference games. The Pac 12 went 25-10 to date. They have 5 undefeated teams and 5 others with only 1 loss. Winning against good competition has to happen as well. Wins against Wisconsin, Michigan St. and BYU are good wins. The ACC's best win is FSU over non ranked LSU. The Big Ten has 1 win vs a ranked opponent. tOSU vs ND. The Big 12 has their close loss of Texas to Alabama. The SEC only has 3 non conference wins against ranked opponents. Florida vs Utah, UGA vs Oregon and Tennessee vs Pitt. As long as there is a pecking order in the Pac 12, I have a real good feeling this year about somebody going to the CFP. Any of the undefeated teams make it by going undefeated and Oregon or Utah can go still make it if they win out. Washington miss both USC and Utah during the regular season. Still a million miles away from the finish, but this season is the best start to the season for the Pac 12 in a while.

  13. I'd like to see UW win all their OOC games 3-0. No style points only a W. Like it or not, all conferences are linked together, so when the Pac 12 as a whole does good, we are all looked in a more favorable light.
  14. Monday Out West: USC football is essentially a Madden simulation SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM The USC offense is off to a terrifying and possibly historic start. Plus, Washington State's huge win, weekly superlatives, and more.
  15. Ranking Pac-12 quarterbacks via PFF grade through Week 2 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Caleb Williams and Bo Nix put up massive stats in Week 2, but a surprise player leads the PFF grades for Pac-12 signal callers.
  16. It won't happen, but I hope they don't give a full percentage of money to conferences with multiple teams participating. For example, every conference gets a full share with 1 team participating. Every additional team added reduces the share for those additional teams. Splitting 1.2 billion between 10 conferences/12 schools will have B1G and SEC bringing home an extra 300-400 mil per year.
  17. Gold: Can the Utes and Ducks still be great? It depends on your definition of greatness. SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Even if the CFP is a thing of fantasies for the Utah Utes and Oregon Ducks, can they still reach the threshold of greatness? That depends on them ... and us.

  23. College football Bottom 10 - Even winners can't escape our list WWW.ESPN.COM Sometimes a win doesn't feel like a win -- like getting a cool tattoo only to discover a typo when you get home. Yeah, that's how the Bottom 10 feels.
  24. It was embarrassing and very concerning. However, 1 games doesn't make a season. I'm cautiously optimistic, but as many have pointed out, I think we may know what type of season we will have after the BYU game. I don't think the Ducks were anywhere near the level of UGA, but I feel like it was the avalanche effect. If Nix doesn't throw INTS on our 2nd and 3rd possession, the momentum doesn't shift quite as much. I still think we get beat badly, but not quite as bad.
