Updated News as of 8:20 PM: Apple Giving Pac a Deadline?
John Canzano is hearing from the people in the room, the TV deal offered will surpass the Big 12 deal in either year 3 or 4. I'm not sure how that is possible if the base is 200 million. Even if linear is putting in 100 million, that still leaves 80 million short. Only 1 million people have subscribed to the MLS deal. Do we really think there is going to be way more signing up for the PAC deal? The MLS subscription is $15.00 a month. Let's say half goes directly to the PAC, they would need 10.66 million new subscribers to get to 80 million. Apple TV currently has 25 million subscribers in USA. Bringing on 10.66 million more doesn't seem feasible. Why would the people in the room feel this is a great deal?

Canzano: Conference Demise Hinges on Oregon
I don't think John Canzano was making it up, that it was a lay-up about the PAC TV deal. I think his sources truly thought that or they lied to him about it. I'm not sure why anybody thought 200 mil plus potential subscription bonuses was going to make it to 380 mil per year. I guess the only thing I can think of is the linear deal is worth 100-150 mil per year? If there is a linear deal the PAC really blew it not letting it out at the same time as Apple.

Canzano: Conference Demise Hinges on Oregon
How is the Big 12 handing out even revenue sharing to any PAC team, but the B1G TEN is only offering less? I find that extremely strange. Big 12 is 60% ESPN, 40% Fox. B1G TEN is 45% Fox, 30% NBC/Peacock and 25% CBS

Big Ten To Add Four Pac-12 Schools?
I get why they might not like competing against UO in football and football recruiting, but for the rest of the sports, having more teams on the west coast makes financial sense. I have said it before, having 6 teams on the west coast makes the money work way better for the B1G TEN.

Beavers Pretty Unhappy with Oregon...'File Lawsuits!'
Clemson and South Carolina play every year. Georgia vs Georgia Tech. Florida vs FSU. Oregon and Oregon State can keep their rivalry even if they aren't in the same conference.

Well, Of Course--It's Paul Finebaum
Anybody else find it odd that ESPN/FOX have money to give full payouts to all these PAC teams to join the Big 12, but don't have money to keep the PAC together?

Apple Emerging as Media Partner for Pac-12 - Primarily Streaming
Not likely Annie. NFL Prime video games aren't any shorter than network TV games for the NFL.

Apple Emerging as Media Partner for Pac-12 - Primarily Streaming
If Apple, 200 mil annually, is the only contract for the PAC, it would be decimating. Here is what the Big 12 was in 2012. 13 years, 2.6 billion, 200 mil annually. Here is what the Big 12 is in 2025. 6 years, 2.28 billion, 380 mil annually. Here is what the PAC deal looked like in 2012. 12 years 3 billion, 250 mil annually. It would be the first time in history a P5 conference's TV deal went down annually from the previous contract. Here are how the TV games were split between ESPN and FOX for the 2012-2024 deal. The deal is with ESPN and Fox with enough of the conference's own events maintained to allow for the creation of a Pac-12 Network. Fox has the rights to 22 Pac-12 football games annually. Eight of those will be on the over-the-air Fox network (four in prime time) and the remaining 14 will be on FX, which is available in 99 million homes. Fox also has the rights to the Pac-12 Championship Game in even years, which will be broadcast in prime time on a Friday night on Fox. ESPN gets the rights to 22 football games of their own, including eight on Thursday or Friday nights, a weekly 7:30 pm PT game and two ABC prime time games per year. ESPN also gets the rights to the Pac-12 Championship Game in odd years, which will be broadcast on a Friday night. Fox will have the rights to 22 men's basketball games per year as well as three Pac-12 Tournaments beginning in 2014. ESPN will broadcast a total on 46 men's basketball games on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays as the Pac-12 ditches their Thursday/Saturday scheduling for a more flexible schedule. The Pac-12 Tournament will see Fox/FX or ESPN/ESPN2 as well as the Pac-12 Network. Fox/FX and ESPN/ESPN2 will alternate years televising a quarterfinal game, a semifinal game and the championship game with the balance of games televised on the Pac-12 Network. ESPN has the rights to up to 80 live events per year, which includes the 22 football games, the men's basketball games, women's basketball games and Olympic sports as well for the first time. ESPN also has the rights to the women's basketball tournament. A Pac-12 Network will be created and will show 350 live events each year. All football and men's basketball games not covered by the deals with Fox or ESPN will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network, as well as an array of non-revenue/Olympic sports. Pac-12 Digital Networks is being created and will be an online channel similar to ESPN3 that will show all games on Pac-12, as well as additional events live online. With Pac-12 Digital Networks comes additional mobile and social media technology for the conference's events as well. I can't imagine why USC/UCLA would be that much more valuable than OU/Texas. It can't be all market size, because if it was SMU, Rice, etc any other university in a huge TV market would be getting bigger TV deals.

Where Do the Ducks Go Now? Assessing All Options for Oregon and the Pac-12
I'm probably the last person not to think the sky is falling, but I'm going to wait and see what the TV deal is. From a perspective standpoint Big 12 is doing better than the PAC at the moment, but I'm not really all that hyped about Cincinnati, BYU, Houston, UCF and Colorado. Once they are P5 schools do they increase their value and the Big 12 value? They definitely could. Today, they don't move the needle. It looks like the Big 12 is doing something, which is way more than what it looks like the PAC is doing, but we won't really know until 5-10 years down the line.

CU Officially Votes to Join BIG 12
I stand corrected, leaks about leaving a conference can come true.

Kliavkoff Caught With His Pants Down, Twice.
I haven't boarded the train on firing George yet, but if he doesn't get at least 31.7 per school. He has to go. Big 12 got a deal early, but they also left money on the table. If the PAC doesn't get at least equal to the Big 12, that 100% looks like the right call. If the PAC exceeds the Big 12, then it looks like the Big 12 made the wrong move.

Some Insight on the Colorado Debacle from Canzano
Yeah, if Deion had any say in moving to the Big 12, that is silly. He is there what maybe 5 years? However, I do think it is funny that he pretty much said it is going to be easier to win in the Big 12 than the PAC.

Colorado Buffaloes Stampede
I am definitely concerned, but I will wait until I see the media deal. Colorado leaving certainly is a huge perception issue, but they have been meh for football and in Men's and Women's basketball they won exactly 2 NCAA tournament games each since joining the PAC. Quality wise Colorado has done next to nothing for the PAC.

The Death of the Pac-12?
I can't remember the last time a school changed conferences after a leak to the media. I don't expect anything different now. It is silly for any school to leave before they know what they are losing. Big 12 is getting 31.7 million with 12 teams in 2024. Do we expect their TV deals to increase 63.4 million by adding Colorado and other unnamed school? How hilarious would it be if the schools left and the PAC had a bigger payout.

The Pac-12 RBU is....NOT Oregon?
I'd like to know what the formula was in deciding. Is Miami really the best in the ACC? Wisconsin the best in the B1G? Appalachian St. for the Sun Belt? They have only been in the Sun Belt since 2016. I'd say the person literally threw darts to pick schools.

Oregon Extends Contract With Dan Lanning Through 2028
Buyouts are a two way street. If the school has a high buyout for him leaving with him making the decision, he expects the same in return from the school. I wouldn't have given him a 1-year extension this year, but I also don't mind it either.

Herbert Signs Biggest Contract Ever for NFL QB...
Don't forget Mahomes signed a 10 year 450 mil deal. Herbert has the highest average, but Mahomes has the highest total contract. I sort of wish Herbert did something like Mahomes. I want the Charges to do well and that requires paying other players. I hope the Chargers GM works his magic, so they can stay competitive.

NCAA Taking Michigan Out to the Woodshed...
NCAA has never done it, but they should start suspending coaches the last games of the regular season, if they are going to suspend coaches. Suspending for OOC games for any sport really isn't much of a punishment.

Pac-12 Expansion: The Case for Boise State
Boise State is terrible at sports outside of football. They have 2 national titles. 1958 Junior College football. 1980 I-AA football. If the idea is to enhance the PAC, there is no reason to invite BSU, even though they do fit into the PAC footprint. Football absolutely wags the dog, but you can't bring in a university for only football. They do have a very loyal fanbase, but do you really see them growing exponentially? They don't have Nike and they don't have an exciting offense. I wouldn't add FSU either. ASU = Phoenix 5th largest city SMU = Dallas 9th largest city SDSU = 8th largest city Colorado = Denver 19th largest city Fresno St. = 34th largest city Boise St. = 94th largest city

Pac 12 Top 10 Offensive Lineman for 2023
Oregon Football: The 10 Offensive linemen you need to know for 2023 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM They don’t get the deserved glamour or glory, but they’re as important as any position on the field. Here are the top offensive linemen to know in the Pac-12 this season. In this article, I examine 10 offensive linemen who I think will have the most impact on their respective teams in 2023. Some have been shutting down pass-rushers for years, while others are young and have just shown flashes of what they can do. They are in my opinion, the 10 most important offensive linemen to know in the Pac-12 for the 2023 season. There aren’t a ton of stats for the offensive line, at least not basic ones or ones that are readily available. With an absence of statistics, I chose to use a few other metrics to determine the linemen to be highlighted in this article. Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades nearly every position in college football including offensive line, which was something I took into account. I also examined former All-Pac-12 team selections as well as 2023 preseason All-Pac-12 team selections when constructing this list.

Oregon Poised to Sell-Out the Entire Season?
With the offense changing from the prevent offense, people are starting to come back to watch the games in the stadium. Under Bellotti, Kelly and Helfrich, the Ducks regularly sold out the weak OOC games. People want to watch the Ducks, but they want an exciting offense.

His best rounds were: 31/40 in 2021 27/34 in 2015 27/34 in 2019 His best final round was: 28/40 in 2021 27/34 in 2015 24/34 in 2019 23/34 in 2016 His most consecutive shots made was 13. Sabrina went 37/40 with 20 consecutive makes in the final round. Sabrina doesn't need to do anything, she already did it. Steph had 7 chances to do what Sabrina did. He can try the 3 point contest next NBA all-star game in 2024.
