January 1Jan 1 Moderator Ducks have done it to me once again: PTDS, Post Traumatic Ducks Syndrome, a nasty, lasting affliction.
January 1Jan 1 Moderator Offense finally got some opportunities when DG started scrambling and creating. It buys the WRs time to make some moves and get open. Hopefully WS has taken note and builds on that coming out of halftime.
January 1Jan 1 Poor play calling by Will Stein. They finally move the pocket and get some results. they just need to show some pride and come out fighting. I LOVE my Ducks and hope they fight!
January 1Jan 1 Author Administrator The only way I thought we could win this time is with an explosive passing game centered around throwing deep to Evan Stewart often to open everything else up. Stewart is not playing, and Justius Lowe is in his place. Mr. FishDuck

January 1Jan 1 The fact Gabriel isn’t running and creating that problem for OSU is so confusing. What are they saving him for? If they can come out and score to open the 2nd half MAYBE they can make magic happen. The bright side is we are safe in regards too Stein leaving to be a head coach. He is not reacting to what is happening.

January 1Jan 1 Why is Stewart not playing? WTH was this a game time decision? that makes a big difference in coverage for tOSU.

We're in the form of the first game of the season , while they are in the Championship form. So what can you expect? We need to throw out the playbook and just go wild. Someone please call Dilly and get some tips!
January 1Jan 1 Perspective brothers and sisters. this game is the culmination of what Rich Brooks started in the basement of Mac’ Court a half century. What matters more than the game and the Championship is the next snap, and the snap after that..

January 2Jan 2 Where is Evan Stewart? I scanned another board and saw no mention there. Is he sick? I find it hard to believe he'd opt out.
January 2Jan 2 I feel the same way all Y'all do believe me. Here's hoping the Ducks come out in the second half with the resolve ASU showed in the Fiesta. Its a giant hill to climb but with some major adjustments it is possible the Ducks get back in this game. Hopefully Lanning is making these very points in the locker room. I mean what else can he do at this point?
January 2Jan 2 The fact the announcers are not talking about Stewart not playing is odd. Stein needs to adjust the play calling and Lupoi needs to play zone and play to the strength of our D. Protect our subpar safeties who have ZERO range. where is Jalil Florence? Why not play the more athletic safeties at this point it can’t hurt. T Johnson is playing like he is wearing cement shoes. I do think we will come out and play inspired football and make it interesting
January 2Jan 2 I think its the officiating. If I can think of anything specific I will get back to you
January 2Jan 2 No Stewart hmm... Is Tez still playing or did he get hurt earlier? I don t think we have to worry about losing Stein or Tosh this yr.....

January 2Jan 2 Moderator Gabriel causing problems with his legs which is finally opening up the offense since the defenders now have to take him into account on the ground.

January 2Jan 2 On 1/1/2025 at 6:54 PM, David Marsh said: Giving up 34... +1,000,000 Coach Lanning needs to be more involved in the defense or find a new defensive coordinator. I like Coach Tosh and think he's a heck of a recruiter and defensive line coach. However, in year #3, there is no excuse for being this bad on that side of the ball (unless you really can't recruit and develop elite defensive talent in Eugene). Maybe give Andy Avalos a call and see if he would be interested in returning to Eugene? Edited January 2Jan 2 by OregonDucks

January 2Jan 2 Moderator Not a good offensive possession. DG just needs to take off and run, even if it’s just for 5 yards.

January 2Jan 2 What a brutal game. Will Oregon ever get over the top or are they the equivalent of the 1990s Buffalo Bills?
January 2Jan 2 Why is DG not running? I mean what is he saving himself for? He is not an NFL QB, he is too small to see plays develop. I love what he did for us this year but he has no future as an NFL QB.

I love what he did for us this year but he has no future as an NFL QB. He did for a bit, when he ran forward it would force the LB or safety they used to spy on him to run up and cover him, that opened up the middle for the receivers to get open. Suddenly he’s stopped doing that and running backwards…
January 2Jan 2 Moderator DG needs to stop holding onto the ball so long and just run. He’s got enough speed to do some damage.
January 2Jan 2 Author Administrator I've waited ALL DAY for this time in the game. It's past 5:00 PM! Mr. FishDuck
January 2Jan 2 I hate to say this but DG has missed seeing wide open receivers and open running lanes. I think he's playing hero ball at times or running scared....
January 2Jan 2 Lanning apparently said at half time Evan Stewart was injured during pre-game warmups. That shouldn't have blown up the entire offensive scheme. Edited January 2Jan 2 by woundedknees
January 2Jan 2 And….the playoff Commission has gotten every game they wanted. sucks, but we keep swinging.
