Great Defensive Game for Oregon...But the Offense?

To hold Washington to 14 points on their home field was a fantastic effort. We should have scored a whole lot more on offense, but the drops by the receivers killed drives. When you only have a few to throw to--they gotta make it pay. Sadiq was not award winning today...but we survived.

Agreed. Hope the upcoming time off brings back our top receivers & allows bodies to heal - but that we don't go cold.

The O was def off today.

Sadiq needs a new pair of gloves. Those were catches he normally makes.

Not sure why we didn't use a fullback on that last 4th and 1.

I couldn't sit down the entire game. Whew!

Ducks did what they had to to win.

Jeremiah McClellan made one of the best catches I have ever seen. Unfortunately he and we was robbed! There is not much drop off, if any with our 1st team receivers not playing IMHO.

Good thing we have a great kicker!

Looking for a Cover in Seattle, YES!

No. 6 OBD 26 - UW 14.

Let's compare with another game played in Seattle in 2025 -

No. 1 Ohio State 24 - UW 6.

It is not easy to defeat or score on an all hands on deck UW D in Husky Stadium.

I am more than entertained. 👌👍😎 No. 5 or No. 6 Ducks at home on December 19th or 20th. YES!

For a team with a new QB and 14 new starters? And with a bunch of starters dinged up? WOW! 😁😁😁

Hats off to Danno and crew. 11-1 on the way to (knock wood) 15-1!

It looked to me like Sadiq wasn't 100%. Some of those drops were totally uncharacteristic of him. And it looked like he took an injury on the near touchdown dive catch in the endzone.

It's great that Ohio State beat Michigan. I'm glad the Ducks DON'T have to play in the B1G championship game. Hopefully the time off will let some of their receivers get healthy. There is also a slight chance they back their way into a bye if Texas Tech or Georgia lose next week. Of course that is contingent on them passing A&M in the next set of rankings that come out on Tuesday.

I dunno. Outside McClellan and Benson we don't have any other WRs Moore wants to throw to. We need Stewart and Moore back if we want to beat the best.

I think we saw the limits of what you can do with Sadiq as a WR today. Seam and drag routes and zone reads are good, but curls, back shoulder, and any other possession type grabs that require millisecond, minute adjustments are a little hard for a guy thicker than Sequoia tree.

Only the 2nd loss for those little puppies on their home turf in 4 seasons. Them dogs are a tough out at home.

Hats off to OBD's for the team victory. Double hats off to the defense and Atticus for bringing the A plus game today.

Yes, the offense was a little off with the run game being stifled. However, DM made the plays when necessary. Remember tOSU only put up 24 points against ewedub at husky stadium.

Now we about 3 weeks to heal and prepare for what should be a home game. At 11-1 this old Duck fan just can't find alot to be negative about.

Hope we are on the IU side of the CFP bracket. IU will be tough enough to defeat but to beat tOSU team OBD's will need to take it to the next level.

Congratulation the players and coaches for a great regular season

We're seeing the limitations that all the injuries are causing on the offense. Having both OTs and Pancho back is great but I'm guessing they're not 100% given the lack of push we were seeing for run blocking. Ditto for receiving, we need at least one of the starting WRs to come back (either Dak or Gary) to provide better consistency in the passing game.

Sadiq is also banged up, that part is obvious. This is the 3rd game this season I've seen him try and make an acrobatic diving catch only to end up dinged.

The extra time off can't come fast enough to allow these guys some time to heal.

Despite not playing its best, Oregon clinched a playoff spot for the second year in a row and a home playoff game tonight!

Hopefully Oregon can get some of its receivers back for the first playoff game.

Although the OL played, we don’t know how banged up they were. Hopefully they can get healthy and our run game gets back to form in the playoffs.

They only gave up 24 at home against an Ohio State team that had their full slate of starters. Washington is pretty tough at home. OBD did leave a lot of meat on the bone, though.

A ton of passes were NOT on the mark. But, let’s reflect on what Oregon DOESNT have. 3-4 O-lineman, 3-5 receivers. Sure we got a bit of o line back but it’s not the same. I don’t think we have an offense problem, I think we have a continuity problem due to health. Now, watch them rev up with 3 weeks off to recoup. Indiana and Oregon are the teams to beat IMO.

I believe the offense is more than a little off. A bit troubling if we’re hoping to make a run in the playoff.

Season offensive stats coming soon and the trends are not good.

Only one Sadiq drop was really bad, the other one I remember was a terrible throw way behind him. I don’t fault him for that one.

Before today's game, and since 2022, UW was 25-1 at home. The loss was to Ohio State this season. UW is now 25-2 at home since 2002. 2nd loss to OBD. And a Ducks cover to boot. QUACK!

This was a Great Win! OBD defeated UW today in front of rabid Dawgs fans who knew this was UW's 2025 Super Bowl.

Dan Lanning is a road warrior. His first but not last win in Seattle. An empathic win and cover.

I'm super pumped for the PO. Now, OBD has time for the injured warriors to get well before, hopefully, a home game against a G6 team.

A great win in a very tough place to win.

I fully agree with you having Dak and Gary makes it impossible for teams to double Sadiq all night. Most the time Dak was drawing doubles and running 2 guys way down the field to open up a lot in the passing game for everyone else.

When Benson is your 4th pass catcher you have some pretty talented guys on the team.

11-1, and a playoff game at home against a much lower ranked team, and no pointless CCG. It's as good as any of us could have hoped for.

And to make it a bit worse... his left arm was being completely held by the Washington player. Where's the PI flag for that?

Should have been a catch or a flag.

The Huskies shut down our rushing game today. The Husky defense against our run game was very impressive.

So, what does Oregon do? We go to the air and Dante throws for nearly 300 yards without a single pick, while also running the ball a few critical times. All without our stud receivers. It's really quite amazing.

That's what is so beautiful about our offense. If the running game is not there, we have the line that blocks and the quarterback who can take us to victory through the air. If the passing game is not there, we have a running game that can take us to victory. The balance is absolutely exceptional.

We will take what they give us. Sometimes it will be a balanced attack. And sometimes not. But the great news is that we have exceptional options either way.

Sappington... my game MVP.

That dude was absolutely 100% nails yesterday. I think it was on that 51 yard kick of his that the snap was quite high. The holder did a phenomenal job of catching it and bringing it down, and cleanly placing it.

But that seemingly little error in the long snap, completely throws off a kicker's timing. But Sappington was just one amazingly cool cucumber today. Every one of his kicks was dead balls center through the uprights.

The kid was in the zone.

There is significant drop-off between a Stewart and our studs that we had out there today. No disrespect whatsoever intended toward our receivers who did amazing job today. But guys like Stewart, or a Tez Johnson, simply play at a different NFL, semi-gawd-like, type level.

With that being said, McClellan was just sick out there today. And that play where he used his head to catch the ball, was absolutely a catch, and absolutely insane.

So you say that Sadiq was not at his best today... no problem -- we've got other studs that we can share the love with. It just speaks to our incredible depth.

It was great to see so many guys on the receiving end today step up in a huge way.

Washington is 18th in total defense (304 YPG) and 16th in rushing defense (103 YPG). They were the third best defense Oregon played this season behind Indiana (4th) and Iowa (9th). Washington is also 19th in scoring defense (19 PPG).

I think Dante was off, timing-wise. He threw a couple ahead and behind schedule. Our receiving corp are pretty darn sure-handed but Sediq diving, turning back for catches, and the one handed catch that was called an incompletion all would have been catches with better timing by Dante.

Would I trade Dante for another QB? Nope! He doesnt throw up prayers, ala Mendoza and Penix, that his young receivers (if they were as young as OBD) have to catch to inflate his stats. Mendoza, is lucky his receiver are older and have the experience to be circus clowns with their catches.

On a side note, did you hear the talking heads say earlier in the week that if Dante, chose to leave early he would be the #1 QB of the NFL draft? That's with Mendoza winning the Heisman. There is more "upside" to Dante than Mendoza.
