Ruh-Roh! Huskies Are NOT Rooting for Oregon to Win?

I'm so surprised! They are not cheering for a fellow NW Big-10 team? (From a Husky pay site)

"Anyone but the Ucks."

"I can honestly say I detest Oregon so much that at this point I am a huge Cignetti fan. I don’t need to like him to root against Oregon!"

"I’m in the anybody’s but Oregon camp."

"I’m ok with any final the doesn’t include Phil Knight."

"Don’t even want to see a remote chance that Nike gets their Natty."

"Miami beating Oregon in the championship does two things. 1) It shows Oregon they had the guy that could get them there, and they couldn't keep him. 2) It cements their place as the Buffalo Bills of college football. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. But I'm a sick twist. I hope for things like this."

"Chris Peterson was the antithesis of Oregon and Mario who openly cheated for many years while Pete was all about educating and winning according to the rules at the time."

"Indiana better win vs UO, because I don’t have a lot of confidence anyone left if going to beat them. OSU was the insurance policy…"

"Oregon is currently as close as I want them to a NC."

As if we didn't have enough motivation to root for the Ducks!

It’s a form of shrieking panic since the only thing they have over OBD is a half paper championship. If Oregon wins a CFP title then the Ducks can claim a far more legit (and more difficult to obtain) national championship status that can be lorded over them for potentially decades.

Barking dogs. It’s gotten to the point where it’s almost kind of cute, if it weren’t for the constant noise. Somebody give them a bone.

The university of cowardly canines, is about as relevant to modern college football... as Oregon State, LOL!

🤔 Hmm, Does anyone have a red pen to correct this poor doggie's grammar?

If we win out, we sure won’t be sharing a Natty with Miami like they did. That will for sure muzzle the mutts.

I know exactly why they don't want OBD to win. Here's a mathematical breakdown.

1960 National Champions:

Iowa

Minnesota

Ole Miss

Missouri

Washington

1991 National Champions:

Miami

Washington

They were one of five teams to win the 1960 national championship and one of two teams to win it in 1991. By my calculations 1/5 + 1/2 = 2/7. That's less than 1/3 of a national championship if you combine the two. If Oregon wins the championship they will have one claimed title which is greater than 2/7.

Was that a math joke to test the "Academically Prowessed" fuskie to try to show their true feelings about OBD?

20% and 50% of 1960 and 1991 would be 70% / 2 - so a little over 1/3 at 35%, but not much. Calculate it however you want, FEBU especially the dawgs.

Why are we using percentages and averaging?

"How many national championships does UW have" is an addition question.

They have .7 national championships. If we win .7<1 and we will have 'more national championships.

And be clear out odds of winning the Natty assuming all teams are equal is only 25 percent, and even though all teams are not equal it would appear that our underdog status to IU and big dog status to the other two is basically a wash.

So our odds to winning it all are still not that good TBH.

The UW fans are still upset that they whiffed on their coaching hire after Deboer bailed.

They badmouth DL because of what he says/does and his energy and at the same time they pine for a coach that motivates and connects with players.

Ultimately, I think they know they are NOT a premier coaching destination and that hurts their puppy feet.

And most are Seachicken fans too. I guess you can pick your friends, but your stuck with your relatives.

If the cleat was on the other foot, I'd feel the same.

Good thing I probably won't have to feel that way during the 20+ years of my life that I might have left.

The Huskies remind me a bit of Nebraska.

They once played some pretty good football, in a land far, far, away.

As a person who grew up in the Portland metropolitan area I never understood liking teams from Seattle. To me, it was the equivalent of marrying your cousin because she was the only female within 200 miles who is of similar age. I also despised the Sonics, so I associated all Seattle teams with them. I spent much of my youth being a free agent fan.

Obviously the Ducks live in the Dog head.... Lets keep it that way!

Homely cousin, who never shaved, brushed her tooth and occasionally experienced a shower, sans soap, by getting caught in the rain while sniffing one another's tails in a grimy alley...

1/5 + 1/2 = 2/7

Actually, the math goes like this:

1/5 = 2/10

1/2 = 5/10

2/10 + 5/10 = 7/10

Still less then one whole championship.

My math.

Voted + Voted = 0 Championships won.

When they make comments like that, it just shows how bad they know their team sucks.

They had it going for a little while, then their coach left and he is not doing well at bama and the Huskies are not doing much anymore in Seattle. But they were actually a real threat when DeBoer was with them.

It is a lot like how we were doing when Helfrich had to coach with his own players and not Chip's anymore. (it wasn't good)

The head coach matters. I can only think of one team recently that had a smooth transition - Ohio St.

Maybe... they will get desperate enough to throw all that Seattle tech money at Lane Kiffen?

Oh Boy. Wouldn't that be something?

I've been a seahawks fan since Steve Largent. I'm going to enjoy their super bowl victory. Am I going to get kicked out of this group now?

Zorn to Largent was indeed a thing of beauty! I was in the Kingdome for the game in 1983 when they beat the Patriots to go to the playoffs for the 1st time. Holy cow, I'm pretty sure that was as loud as any metal concert I've been to...

All that to say: Go Ducks!! Put a good old fashioned whoopin on the Hoosiers!!

What’s interesting about most of those comments is how all of that Duck hate can’t mask the panicky fear that we’re headed for a championship. When the stone-cold Husky faithful are thinking like that, maybe there’s hope for them yet. Nah

Fuskie Fanatic Futility Fuels Frantic Finals Frustration

Well, in all fairness, how many of us were rooting for them two years ago? 😀

Also, at least they got fractional natty a couple of times. Let's go out an win one 100%!
