  1. Good ponder point DuckIt, I have wondered the same myself. I was positive the NS and JF would have lit it up by now, but so far, I couldn’t have been more wrong…
  2. I am absolutely for live streaming PAC 12 games. I am quite frankly, fed up with ESPN and their BS. I have boycotted having cable tv for well over a decade. I enjoy streaming NFL Thursday Night Football and have no lagging issues. I would live stream PAC 12 football (or basketball or track & field) in a heartbeat!
  3. David, you bring up a very good (and valid) point. I have long felt Oregon was doing a disservice to the young QBs who chose UO, and that it would at some point start to discourage promising young QBs from choosing Oregon. IMHO, the win now attitude has become prevalent in every sport, to the detriment of all. It is not limited to the fans, but includes boosters, ADs, even players.
  4. After yesterday, 9-4 or even 8-5 looks like as good as we should expect.
  5. I find it hard to believe that either TT or JB are that much worse than bone x. That they are so much worse they don’t even get a chance when you are down 28-0. What we witnessed yesterday was a train wreck. I hope and pray DL and this coaching staff can turn this thing around.
  6. I guess I am most saddened by the Mari -like insistence on refusing to give another QB a chance to compete. I actually thought DL would give TT of JB a chance to compete in an actual game once it was out of reach. IMHO, this game was out of reach once Bone X (an apt nickname he earned in the SEC) threw his second pick directly into the arms of a Georgia defender. There was absolutely no reason to stick with him in the second half. This blind allegiance to transfer QBs can only hurt OBD, and is hard to stomach. Yet Again…
  7. I seem to remember something similar coming from a tOSU writer last year. I just want to see the game! Go Ducks!
  8. A lot of the commenters on that board seem to feel the same way about Bo that I do. He is experienced and has played in the SEC. That don’t impress me much. I think Ty and Butters both have a higher ceiling, they just need playing time.
  9. Wonderful tongue in cheek satire, thanks Alan! I loved the well scoreboard and meaningful pictures, but spit up my coffee at “The University of Snakes & Cretins and the University of Clueless Lunatics & Addicts ” Thank you for jump starting my Saturday! Go Ducks! I write this while sitting at Reagan International, sitting across the aisle from a glowering Husky fan who must be jealous of the magnificent “O” on my shirt compared to the pitiful purple “w” on his windbreaker.
  10. If NS and BD are saying those things about JF, you know he is going to make an impact! September 3 can’t get here soon enough! Here is hoping the Duck Defense plays balls to the walls and gives Georgia a taste of something they haven’t experienced before. Go Ducks!
  11. I was trying to post this with my original post, but fouled it All up!
  12. One of my favorite Duck runners. The man ran with attitude! “Go ahead, try to stop me, I dare you!” Got to meet JJ and spend a morning with him. He was blessed to have had some awesome experiences at Oregon and in the NFL. (Off season practice with Peyton Manning!) He embodies the Once a Duck, Always a Duck mentality. Great guy!
  13. Probably the one who catches the most balls for the most yards..: Go Ducks!
  14. KR, is that “Water Rodent” University?
  15. I agree with OhioDuck here. You have to have the next man up getting game time snaps. If we can have 6 DL on rotation, 5-6 WR on rotation, 3-4 RB on rotation, 4-5 TE on rotation, and 5-6 LB on rotation, why not 2-3 QB on rotation? If we can count on anything, we can count on one of them getting banged up, especially if Dilly plans to run his QB 6 to 8 times per game. IMHO, having 2 or 3 capable and experienced QBs ready to cover for each other is a lot safer, smarter, and more effective than putting all your eggs in one basket…. er, putting all your hopes on one QB.
  16. As usual, a great article on FD, with some brilliant posts on OBDF. My heartfelt thanks to all, especially to Mr. Charles, who made it possible for all of us to play in his playground! IMHO, I find it interesting how the 2 factions in the Canes camp are so similar to what we here on OBDF have been doing over Mari’s tenure at the mighty O. When WT left, and the PLAYERS came out in strong support of MC, I, like more than a few others was just a slurpin’ like a madman! Then after watching some magnificent Duck players get Corched down, and some potential wins get corched into defeat, many of us started to fall into the (not really mopes, but more like the) anti-MC camp. All the really dumb MC moves (mentioned ad-nauseum above) really made it hard to see a Duck future with this guy. Whatever the reason (Sick mom, close to home, alma mater, more money, getting out of dodge before the reckoning) I personally am glad things went down like they did! Let MC corch the Canes into mediocracy, our beloved Ducks have a far better Coach and Staff to guide our future! GO DUCKS!
  17. Noah Sewell is an absolute Beast! I so look forward to the Havoc he will cause in the DL defensive attack. if JF can play a full season, the Duck LB Corps will be the toast of the nation.
  18. I have always felt that cheerleaders were every bit the student athlete as ball players or students in any other sport. They put in the hours, practice on an off the field, and have the discipline to stick with their respective programs. They are as much a part of the Oregon brand as are football players, baseball or softball, track and field, golf, or even basketball players. Photos are fine. In reality, their uniforms are more modest than what we see in track and field, volleyball or the swim team.
  19. I am looking for a relentless and suffocating defense creating 4 to 6 HAVOC plays per game. This should be complimented by a wide open offense with a variety of inside and outside runs, open receivers and accurate passing, punctuated with explosion plays from a wide variety of playmakers. What I really want to see a Defense that allows less than 20 PPG and an offense that averages 42 PPG. Is that asking too much from OBD?
  20. This Duck fan would not, should not EVER cheer for the heiney lickers from the mistake on the lake.
  21. While there were Ducks in it (winning medals too!), and the venue was well showcased, it wasn't really a “Duck” event. That said, I enjoyed watching clips on YouTube and some live streaming. Thought Hayward Field looked great! I know hotels were hard to come by clear to Salem, but had not heard of any nightmare crowd or traffic scenes from Eugene.
  22. Can you guys tell me when fall camp starts with drills and practices? Have they set a schedule and I just missed it? Thanks in advance to my OBDF friends…
  23. Is it just me, or did I see a lot of receivers having to adjust to the ball? He led a few nicely, no doubt, but there were some wide open receivers who had to break off a route or come back to the ball. I have no doubt BN is an upgrade from AB, and has the edge in experience, but I remain unconvinced he is hands down better than our 2 waiting in the wings.
