  1. I am also one who thinks it was more timing and circumstance. He was too young and green to beat out Anthony Brrown, and was nowhere near the QB Bo Nix was. Now Dillon comes in, at a level that is arguably better than Bo was when he arrived. While I liked TT, and wanted to see him succeed, the stair he had to climb to get there were just too much. The Ducks did not fail him, he was just the latest in a long list of potential commits who just couldn’t crack the starting lineup. There have been lots of others we thought would be “the guy” who came up short for a variety of reasons. Guys like: Travis Jonsen, Tyler Shough, Jay Butterfield, Jake Rodriguez, Morgan Malahak, Brian Bennett, Robby Ashford, Braxton Burmeister, and Cale Millen, to name some of the more recent.
  2. 2 questions for my more knowledgeable fans of OBD? Does this mean Austin Novosad is QB2 for the Fiesta Bowl? Would Dillon Gabriel be able to suit up or is he just available next year?
  3. Totally agree @kirklandduck, very well deserve! He was a stud coming out of the backfield. I still have visions of home. Busting loose and going the distance! I would not be surprised to see him followed by DAT, Kenyon Barner, & MM8, followed by RF, KT and JH!
  4. I agree @Haywarduck, and I also think it will be a test of the fan base. I think with the national following OBD have built over the years, there will be plenty of green and yellow in the stands. I know we have folks on this site that are not impressed and don’t want to support OBD, or think that our stars should sit this out, but I hope there is enough love of the game in our stars that they will play, and have enough of a route going they can sit the second half. We may not fill the venue, but I hope to see way more Oregon colors than Liberty colors in the stand. As far as I am concerned, players have no greater risk of injury in the last game of the year than they do in the first game of the year. I do not expect to see Bo sacked or even hurried, and he shouldn’t need to run given the weapons at his disposal. The other awesome thing about a NY6 game is the recruiting angle. What a great opportunity for OBD!
  5. I hope his decision and example is followed by the rest of those who will move on next year. They should play this c game for each other and to close out a magical season with a WIN! I don’t see any more risk to Bo or any of the others playing this game than any other game. The stakes are certainly higher than they were with Portland State and Hawaii.
  6. Ok, I will risk getting a stern talking to from Charles, but what a bunch of negativity! (toned down from Negative Nancy’s) C’mon guys and gals, It is a NY6 Bowl game! Have we become that jaded that we are gonna look down our noses at an undefeated opponent? Yes, it could have ended differently, but it didn’t. OBD gets a shot at ruining Liberty’s perfect season. We get another month of practice! Next year’s Ducks gets a chance to gel early. if I were in DL’s shoes, those players who think they are “too good” or “too valuable” to play in a NY6 Bowl game can watch the future of OBD while they practice in preparation for the game. Go Ducks!
  7. Thank you @Charles Fischer for the endless hours you put into making YOUR playground safe for us to play in. We all have opinions, and your Forum with Decorum allows us to safely post our opinions. We can respectfully disagree, but we cannot attack others for their opinions, and thankfully you enforce that. THANK YOU. As fans, we all get riled up at times, and is never easy to see your team lose. Especially to a rival who has a history of low class one up-man-ship. We will NEVER hear the end of their perfect final PAC 12 season in which they beat us twice. While it was no worse then when the Utes did it, the dogs will never let this one lie. At the end of the day, and hopefully before I post, I remind myself the this is a GAME, played by KIDS, and someone always loses. It is not failure, it is coming up short. We all do it from time to time, it is part of being human, and humility m is a good thing.
  8. I lean toward Michigan Washington Florida State Texas Texas is annihilating their opponents, they beat Alabama (in Bama’s house), Bama beat Georgia. However, I would not be surprised to see 2 SEC teams get slots 3 and 4. SEC bias being what it is…
  9. For me the hardest part will be listening to Mutt fans bragging about their “perfect season” where they beat the Ducks twice. That is more relevant than their 40 some odd year old half-championship that they still crow about.
  10. I don’t want to harp on the refs, but that was one heck of a pass breakup! Wonder if it makes the stat sheet? On the same topic, was that the same ref that called our last TD out of bounds? The replay showed it was really not even close to OB.
  11. I knew we were screwed when the zebra broke up Bo’s first pass. Would have been a first down if the zebra hadn’t knocked it down!
  12. They are doing to us what we were supposed to do to them.
  13. Mighty Ducks, 35-18 1TO 2 Sacks 341 yards passing. Final PAC 12 Champion punches ticked to final 4 team playoff.
  14. Nice clean look, and I love the green hats with fade to yellow wings! Far superior to prostitute purple and hooker gold. Go Ducks, Destroy dawgs!
  15. Great thread @Duckster we certainly sit on the edge! But never have we been here with a D so complementary to our O. We are truly breathing rarified air! But like @Charles Fischer, the nervousness persists. We have been close before, only to come up short (for a variety of reasons). I have faith in the 2023 version of OBD, and the DL coaching staff to go the distance, and I will savor every breath-taking, heart-pounding moment of it! Go you Magnificent Mighty Ducks!
  16. The Duck D is the difference tonight. Beavus just can’t run it down these guys’ throat! We are flat out stuffing their run game!
  17. Would you rather have a long spirit killing drive or an explosive demoralizing drive?
  18. @Log Haulin that is one of the best posts I’ve seen! I particularly liked the part about destroying them so badly the MWC no longer wants them! That and “I hope these slimy vessels of the Black Plague get incinerated today in epic fashion. Agressive, violent, abused, battered will be the adjectives used when describing this beating the Beavus will take at the hands of the Ducks.” Epic, Oh Great Hauler of Logs, absolutely epic! Today WILL BE the day Beavus looks back on and says. "This is where the story ended".
  19. Thanks Charles! Good stuff to absorb on game day morning! If both teams play to their potential, OBD should take an early lead and steadily pull away from the Beavs. I will be seeing 2 Beaver loving brother this weekend, and am looking forward to a complete Duck victory. It was tough to hear them crowing last year, and revenge will be sweet!
  20. Ducks 49 Beavs 17. 1 TO, 2 sacks, 325 passing yards Go Ducks!
  21. I feel it as well. We have an explosive offense guided with laser precision, protected by bigs with attitude, featuring ball handlers with blazing speed and bowling ball toughness. This year we finally have a Defense to match! The D line is stout and the edges are beasts! The depth is incredible! The whole team has a focus I can’t remember seeing. That said, too many times have OBD unbelievably, inexplicably, and heartbreakingly come up short. My biggest fear is they somehow run up against a brick wall in the 4th quarter. Sound familiar? I keep telling myself that this year it is different, that we lost the 4th quarter in several games this year because we are 3 and 4 deep into the rotation (while giving next year’s Ducks experience), not because we are running into the wall. I want to believe that OBD could play all 4 quarters like they played the first two last Saturday. THAT team can and probably will win the next 4 games and give us a National Championship.
  22. I always love it when (the game formerly known as) the Civil War has post season implications! However, nothing really changes for OBD, win out, we are in. While Beavus certainly presents a challenge, the best team should win, and right now the best team is OBD. OSU is a good (and dangerous) team that should not be taken lightly. I don’t believe for an instant that DL, the staff, or Bo & Co. will take them anything other than seriously. A well thought out game plan with good execution should put us in Vegas where we rain down sweet revenge on the cursed puppies from the north. GO DUCKS!
  23. Congrats to Just Ducky for the outright win! Congrats to Duckhart2, BigDog, and 1Ducker1 for tying with me for second! But most importantly, THANK YOU to Charles for developing and implementing such a fun little contest for us to play!!!
  24. 2 point loss to #5. How far do the Beavs fall with their 3rd loss? It matters for our SOS doesn’t it?
  25. Mr. Nix has just put himself head and shoulders into the lead in the Heisman race! DL needs to let him sit the second half, There is nothing left to prove.
