Bo running is good for the Ducks, but it needs to continue to be smart running. It forces the defense to account for him. Having him run into the teeth of the defense is not smart (see Nix last year and Herbert his sophomore year. IMHO, the QB has no business running between the tackles unless it is a 1 or 2 yard QB sneak following his blockers.

I agree with you O Great Hauler of Logs! If our 5* commits don’t get a shot because we are bringing in “experience” the 5* commits will soon figure it out and commit elsewhere. Bringing in transfers doesn’t always pay off. For every Nix we had a Brown and for every Vernon Adams we have had a Dakota Pruckup

This week, the opponent is the toughest game on the schedule, That will be followed by the next week’s opponent and so on thru the season. The upcoming opponent is ALWAYS the toughest, and I hope it remains that way for the three games following the last in-conference civil war.

While I missed the sacks by a mile (way to go Duck D), and was off on the TO, I only missed the actual air yardage by 12 yards and the rushing yardage by 3 yards! I guess I should buy a lottery ticket today! Go Ducks!!!

You better believe OBD will watch it in the week after they beat the Beavs. I should be able to bring myself to watch it then, while anticipating three things: Revenge, sweet revenge, A thorough beat down of the mutts, The end of their winning streak.

And had OBD converted on one of the fourth downs, Lanning would have been a wizard. Had they converted on 2 of them, Dan would have been a hero, and hat OBD converted in all 3, he’d be hailed as BBDL! While I too, am upset with the final score, I realize it is still a game, played by kids and nobody is perfect. I would still rather have DL in charge, rather than MC, WT, or MH running things. I think Lanning will do great things at Oregon, but perfection won’t be one of them.

Thank you Charles for an interesting and thought provoking article! While the 2023 version OBD is much improved in nearly every facet of the game from 2022, unfortunately the 2023 version of the putrid purple and hooker gold scumbag curs from the north are also better than their previous rendition. That said, it will be fun to watch OBD put an epic beat down on the sniveling mutts on National TV! Go Ducks!

Charles, I most definitely share your Fine-Feathered-Fantasy! I also think this year’s version of OBD have the talent, depth, skill, and attitude to deliver and undefeated National Championship season! If DL can keep them hungry and looking to get better with each outing, and if they play to their potential with no letdowns, 2023 may just deliver what PK and the rest of us have been waiting decades for! Go Ducks!

Nice little hype video, but they are only one of Oregon’s teams. Oregon has a LOT of teams, from elementary schools, junior high schools and high schools, all the way up through junior college and universities. All of them are Oregon’s teams. The Beavers can preen and moan and cry and swagger all they want, but EVERYONE knows who tho top team in our state is, and it ain’t the one in Corvallis. There is only one Oregon team that consistently competes with the big boys, and that is Our Beloved Ducks!

Thanks PD! That was the one I saw on the replay is the game. Really has me (and the bride) wondering what the others looked like! Perhaps there will be an article at the end of the season with names and photographs.

For those not familiar with it: “Hill said the criteria for big plays are touchdowns of 40-plus yards on offense, takeaways on defense and a special teams touchdown or blocked kick. Players who make those plays sign the custom shoe and celebrate with the scepter. “Each game somebody close to the program is going to design a shoe,” Hill said. “You get to sign the shoe and then you get your moment with your team holding up the scepter. Then after the season, we auction and give it to charity.”

Has anybody gotten photographs of the first two Big Play Scepter? Saw the shoe designed by MM8 last night and it was awesome! Having the shoe dated for the week and signed by the Big Playmakers and auctioned off to charity is a GREAT idea, and one I hope gets legs! A listing showing each shoe, the shoe designer, and the signing playmakers for each week would be cool to see.
