  1. Charles, are you thinking that cooler heads will prevail? This is the California Legislature we are talking about here… Not meaning to be political, but historically????
  2. Thanks for the article Bruce! Kind of makes me wonder how much of a home field advantage the new Hayward facilities provide? I is a truly awesome facility. We know it is going to draw in the best athletes, making the future brighter than ever! Go Ducks!
  3. Agreed, I just can’t stomach hooker gold and prostitute purple. It truly is the worst uni EVER.
  4. Talk about counting your chickens before they hatch! Before fall camp even starts these buffoons have the butt-lickers winning the north and spoiled crybabies winning the south. How many games into the season before their dreams are crushed? Do they get crushed before conference play even starts?
  5. Great topic Charles, thank you! A note of caution is not a bad thing, especially to “We Who Have Been Burned.” For me, I WANT TO BELIEVE, but am almost scared to do so. We have indeed, heard this line before. I gotta believe that DL will indeed take the Ducks to the promised land! Oh how we love to ponder about a triumphant return of our beloved High Flying Ducks!
  6. David, IMHO, I really didn’t feel the fans were booing AB, but they were without a doubt booing MC and his tepid vanilla play calling.
  7. The ones who left. It seems like a lot of depth players (not so many starters) have left, and I hope they are not killing their chances.
  8. How college football's transfer portal is changing spring practice WWW.ESPN.COM This year, there are already more than 3,600 FBS players in the portal, and the biggest question... I was trying to post the article above
  9. I wonder what Oregon’s portal stats look like? How many of these kids will never play another game?
  10. And I hate to see it printed, mrspenney, but you are correct. Seattle represents the largest market in the North. I just can’t see the Heiney-sniffers doing better than 3rd in the north, and 4th is more likely.
  11. Truer words are seldom spoken! THAT was a fun game to watch! The third quarter was absolutely EPIC! Thanks David, for reminding me, I will watch it a couple more times waiting for late August.
  12. I suspected this might be the case. The portal is not all sunshine and flowers. There is a dark side. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence. I’d be very interested to know the results experienced by Duck players who portal out…
  13. As a guy who fished commercially off Cape Kiwanda in the late 70’s and early 80’s, I gotta agree with Jon here! You will find no better experience than launching off the beach, limiting out with bottom fish and salmon, then riding the boat through the surf and onto the beach. It’s about 3 hours north and west of Eugene, but we’ll worth the trip. Welcome to our little slice of heaven!
  14. Fear No Team. Respect is fine for the teams that earn it. The undisciplined spoiled children deserve no more and no less than our complete and total attention the week they play The Ducks. The butt sniffers to the north would deserve our pity if they weren’t such a pathetic bunch of sniveling curs. As such, we should give them no more and no less than a monumental beat down every time they dare to step on the field with us.
  15. Great article Sir Charles, thank you for getting our juice flowing and our Ducks in a line! OK, many Duck fans think Chip was the greatest Duck coach of all time, and his W/L ratio speaks for itself. Was he a salesman? CEO? Recruiter? Leader? I think we’d be hard pressed to give CK an A in all of the above. This is admittedly looking at the world through green and yellow glasses, but I don’t see DL as the next NS, but rather I see him as the guy who replaces NS as the GOAT of CFB.
  16. Thanks for posting JD! Something about a large athlete with a “nasty intent” has me looking forward to “pancakes with attitude!”
  17. Offense: Incredibly prolific. Defense: Punishingly dominant.
  18. Brown might have been more formidable if his receivers were that wide-open that often. In addition to having wide-open team-mates to throw at (I saw wide open guys have to make some wicked adjustments), Bo is good playmaker, and one I’d be happy with if he wins the job, but wouldn’t it be cool if he was the 2nd best QB on the team!
  19. I much prefer the O and wings to the old (tired) intertwined U and O. Really liked the Lightning, Thunder and Ice color combinations a few years ago. I don’t mind seeing all white or all black uniforms, as long as they have green or yellow helmets or highlights, but for heaven’s sake, dump the hideous grey.
  20. Tracktown USA definitely has a long and well earned tradition! And now they have brand new Crown Jewel to spruce up and freshen the tradition! DL needs to use it to bring in some world class speedsters!
  21. Ditto on the terrific Lanning take! If my memory serves Jon, weren’t the leaders on the team that insisted on MC the same players who got to watch Helfrich run the Ferrari into the wall, then got to experience WT drive it off the road and into the mud? To them, MC, with his promises to turn them into a Mack truck must have seemed like Nirvana! No wonder they fell for it. I am so looking forward to the Lanning Era!
  22. Our culture is simply “how we do things here.” It is important for Dan’s or Dan’ players to buy in, support, and to a large degree, drive the culture. At the end of the day, a team’s culture is what will keep them together or wedge them apart. That is why it is important for the coach to get players to buy in to the culture he or she wants for the team.
