New Oregon S&C Coach Coming from Ole Miss?
EzDucksIt replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
If you send a small guy at a Large guy and say "take him on" there often going to be some damage, like running into a rock wall. Back in the day, you had Running Backs and Full Backs that lead the way! Now, you got less than 5'10" and less than 200 pounds trying to take it up the gut on guys that are 6' to 6'5" guys weighing 250 to 300 pounds, that is a lot of Rocks on the walls! Road Graders Please! Chip, ran these guys to the edges and away from trouble with speed and shiftyness. Mario, ran them into mountains. Nothing Feld did can prevent those injuries. Love me some Radcliff but his linemen suffered a lot of leg injuries, that is just from being in the trenches and battling. Building strength and knowing how to use that strength is important. Just hope everyone, stays healthy but pretty hard in such a physical sport. Best wishes Ducks! -
Uh oh... White Uniforms for the Alamo Bowl
EzDucksIt replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I actually made this statement, knowing that the coach allowed the players to pick the combination of uniforms for games. I thought that this was odd as it does not allow for making quicker reads of the opponents to your targets, preventing you from throwing into a pack of the enemy covering your target. The little details, lol. -

As I always believe, what EVER you have to do to make the QB identify the receivers faster and easier, I am ALL for. -
Alamo Bowl Gameday Thread: Why It Matters for Oregon
EzDucksIt replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
First off, everyone on the team, deserve a chance to play. They filled a role, they came to practices, they filled in for the injured, the opt outs, the MIA. But Oregon, deserves to show what the future holds. How do you judge talent, how can we see talent, AB has been given more chances than those recruited by Oregon. We owe them as much as you think we owe AB. You move on to your next school, AB, moves on in life, those you left behind, deserve some air time to help coaches evaluate and plan on how they may help them succeed too. Best of luck to our Ducks tonight, put it out on the field and be judged, then it is up to the coaching. -
Hayward, What is the problem with the other 3 QB's? Why can they make plays in practice, we hear about it, but can not perform in a game. If it is about what they bring to the field, AB has brought the same inconsistencies but at a senior level. Something is wrong here. If scoring is an issue, we look at alternatives to score. We should not be shutting down the offense because it is difficult. And giving the opposing offenses our middle, seems just as insane. Sure we do not give them the explosion plays but why let them have free rein up the middle. Things have not been right, it starts with the leadership. What part of the two Utah games did Oregon show up in? The Defense sure tried for a bit but when no offense showed up, the defense seem to go MIA. I do not ever remember when Oregon, with the talent we had and coaches, just laid down. Except at the game against TCU in the second half. No accountability. Failure to rally the team. Youth, injuries off day for the QB, Leadership. I hope we find, that we as a team and coaches, make mistakes but learn from them, they make us stronger. We have faith in the little victories that build experience. We have instances where we can coach up our players, how to read, react and review to learn what we saw, how we respond and what can be done in the future. Athletes have a responsibility to become better at their trades, strength, conditioning and study. Coaches teach technique, concepts why you do what it is you do. So what really happened. Mario leaving, may be the best thing that happened for Oregon, sadly, other coaches depended on him for their jobs.

Alamo Bowl Gameday Thread: Why It Matters for Oregon

I do not care that AB has played his heart out all year. I look forward to the Future that will be the Ducks and AB is not owed that. Now if AB can muster the success of his team mates that is a different story. But if he cant, let another try, lets see what we have in the cupboards to win a game, even if it may not be with AB. -

Now that is a combination I like, clean, apple green and does not make us look like we are trying to make everyone happy with all the Christmas Colors. Keeping it Green, White, Red. Fits Oklahoma and Oregon. Went alphabetically, just sayn, not to jinx us with leading with them. Happy???!!! -
Can You Believe All the "Blah-Blah" Articles There Are?
EzDucksIt replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Cats and Dawgs, so much humor in those two animals. Loving it. -
To me, He was the Face of the Oakland Raiders along with Kenny Stabler. When he left coaching and went into the Booth calling Monday Night Football, that was the ticket. Oh and Chris Collinsworth, YOU sir, will never measure up to the man that John Madden was. Just saying.

Moorhead: "Anthony has had a Phenomenal Season"
EzDucksIt replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I would venture a guess, that consistently looking at the field from ones back and 15 guys on your chest is not such a pleasant experience. Having someone bearing down on you like a locomotive out of control, looking to place you in the intensive care unit, has its recurring nightmares and sudden panic attacks that feels like its the end of the world. But rest assured, if you get good at recognizing the pre snap reads and know how you might counter it, you can avoid injuries and body casts that other less talented QB's are familiar. That or the big opening in the middle of the field that if you were a faster runner, may have made if God had gifted you with slowing the game down to a more manageable speed and faster legs. -
Hayward, I had to look up the word corollary. Which is great because I learned a new word. Now I know what it means. Many a times, watching the ducks play this year, I thought I was having a corollary but NOW, I know that should have been a coronary. Thank GOD, I looked it up. I have been guided by Charles in a lot of my previous posts and his help, guidance has been so helpful. Guidance to not vent but to articulate in a mature manner how we see a team we love grow, develop and have issues with students, coaches and being out played. I do not wish to be that parent, that screams bloody murder about tackling or jarring the football from that other pee wee player for the video to be placed on you tube glory! That sees the action on the field from green and yellow tinted glasses while holding a blind mans cane. I want to be entertained by beautiful passes, runs and catches. Lazer guided tackles, sure handed ballerina moves and sideline catches. Fast running, sharp cuts and runaway speed to the goal line plays that makes one go WHOA! These Ducks, when they are in synch are a pleasure to watch. When those games happen, they are untouchable. I remember three games where the JUICE was so exciting, @Stanford against Luck, @USC against Barkley and at the Rose Bowl against FSU and Winston. Love these Duck moments, just looking for more and the high that comes from these memorable moments. One day, Oregon will legalize these highs and we can bring it out for ALL to enjoy too.

Moorhead: "Anthony has had a Phenomenal Season"
EzDucksIt replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I felt like, we had these talents and NONE of THEM wanted to be THE GUY???? This is what these guys live for, Ashford, Dual Threat and Baseball, WHAT? Butterfield, Same size as Herbert, Shough likes riding the bench instead of realizing a dream to be a NFL QB, WHAT? Thompson, with all the hype but what, lacking game maturity, maybe, WHAT? You have either, inept coaching evaluation or terrible development of talent. I think both. How can you have these three bench sitters still being not as good as AB? AB has not become better as the season moved forward even after 13 games. None of those QB's improved enough to at least challenge him? Something very wrong here. Now Bo Nix, in the Mix? I would get how a new coach would bring in the experience because he may not know what he has in three veteran QB's in the program. Bo Nix, in my mind, just like with AB last year, provides insurance to the QB room. Veteran talent, experience for if the YOUTH does get hurt or needs veteran mentors on the sideline to guide the youth through the ups and downs or fill in for injury. To the YOUTH sitting on the Bench, Get Up or Get Out! Leading from your seat, is not Leading. The Elite talent, does everything they can, to see the field from the field, not holding a clipboard. Go Ducks, spread your wings and FLY! -
Ducks are Winning the Alamo Bowl for sure Now
EzDucksIt replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
OK, enough of the Quack Bait, time to get serious and show Oklahoma, we care about waddle people think of us. Ducks are not just another fair weather fowl with winning feathers in their caps! Oregon flocks with the best of them, down to earth, flapping their wings for the whole Quack Family. Oregon looks forward to battle the Sooners rather than laters by putting their best web foots forward. Not looking to put their feathers in the caps of Oklahoma's players. Now lets show them why Oregon flock together and Quacks Loud! Go Ducks! -
Moorhead: "Anthony has had a Phenomenal Season"
EzDucksIt replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It makes me wonder, if the Coaching was not willing to put in the time to Develop the talent. Was it easier to hand the reins over to someone with less talent but understood managing on the field. The youth on this team, seem too content on handling the clipboard than going out there and competing on the field. Shough would rather leave than compete for the starting role. None of the other QB's would step up to challenge for the starting role? Two of them being 3 years into the program by 2021? Now with Bo Nix in the mix for starting position going into 2022, who decides to leave next Ashford, Butterfield or Thomson? Why not go out and EARN that spot by giving your best, show some leadership, giving your best shot? Oregon, your team mates and the team deserve your best efforts! As far as athletes looking to join Mario, Let them! Get rid of the ones that sit on the sidelines. Letting others do the work while they hold clip boards and dole out the water, for those on the field who put it out for the team everyday. -
I have always saw the Dawgs as that Cat you showed us Charles, in the end, tripping themselves over the cliff. . . . purrrrrrfectly!

They could Bearly hang in there.

I actually believe Dorlus was an unsung hero to Thibs aggressive style. Dorlus is a monster that takes the attention of many OL and he is a defensive bulldozer with some great skills. Look forward to him being aggressive and getting some Media Love too, in the upcoming year. Hoping he stays healthy and has a great year to help his draft stock shoot through the roof.

I may not believe in AB's talent being consistent enough to lead the Ducks. However, I would NEVER wish him ill, harm or anything to hinder this young man's success. The decision, not to try another QB, to continue with no thought to fight and try to comeback at the PAC 12 Championship game, falls on the coaches shoulders. AB's inconsistencies, rest on him. Utah's success was at taking away his strengths, capitalizing on his mistakes and being better prepared. Having said that, if the Oregon Coaches decide that Oregon's best chance rest with AB, then start him. Should he fail to rally the team or proves ineffective, other QB's deserve the chance to show skills and talent that may provide leadership for team victory. I expect nothing less from the team in the support of AB. Just understand that others deserve that same consideration.

Longhorns Throwing Shade at Oregon's New Coaching Staff?
EzDucksIt replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I expect Sark, to have the same results he had at Washington and USC. Hope he keeps in touch with his Sponsor, I do not think he will do much better than the coach he replaced. Already starting the same crap he did at Washington, just waiting for his USC Persona to kick in, it will and not in a good "we hired a great coach" Texas way. Another Offensive Coordinator that should have realized his OC Ceiling, let others lead. But if your going to do it BIG, do it BIG in TEXAS! That was supposed to be "break through the Defense, not DeDoor!" -
In a GoDucks video (at the 7:50 mark) from December 16, 2021 of Interim Coach McClendon, a reporter asked about giving a lot of players playing time to which McClendon responded with the following. "You play to win the game" adding "if winning or losing did not matter, you would not keep score". When Oregon, continued with the ineffective game plan at the Championship game, you knew Mario gave up. So it was not surprising that so many had already had jobs lined up after the Conference Championship. I hope to see, McClendon and the Other Coaches try to give these players one last chance at a victory together, that is a way to go out in style. Best wishes Ducks. Then we move on. . . .

New Duck DB Coach - Demetrice Martin
EzDucksIt replied to deschutesduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Let's be honest with the Old Staff, everyone and their sister was a Co- Asst- or something, to many bosses and not enough employees! Mario to get some of the people he got had to find creative ways to get them more pay or it sure seemed that way. Maybe that system did not work, too many hands in the cookie jar. Could explain why the teams Mario coached seemed so inconsistent. No Direction, No Leader, it really is kind of crazy how the talent and coaches could not mesh. No road graders but some talented athletes with ambition and drive. If Miami, looks like Oregon of the last four years, you will know what the problem was, I bet. -
Moorhead Took a Massive Pay Cut to Leave Oregon.
EzDucksIt replied to DrJacksPlaidPants's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I was watching the Ohio State game on TV, when Mario called a TO and the TV crew zoomed in on Mario and Joe, who was pretty animated, looked as if they were arguing. It stood out to me and the next week Joe had his physical issue and did not participate in the Stanford game. Sad really. But it showed how Mario does not get control of stuff, until it is too late, the end of the Stanford game was coached terribly. -
Lanning Going to NFL for Offensive Line Coach
EzDucksIt replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I love Fuzzy! That is when the OC sends in the play to give the ball to the Big Back Colt Lyerla and Bryan Bennett tries to pull the ball but Colt is already steaming to the end zone with Bennett in tow! Colt scores a Bennett football TD, first of its kind in Oregon History! Got to love it!
