  1. In the News. . . Twitter has reported that current Twitter Verse is blowing up in Miami. . . While receiving a lot of well wishes and Birthday Greetings. . . Mario Cristobal, Millionaire Coach of the Hurricanes and former player has been getting a lot of Tweets of encouragement and some not so printable comments on his teams current struggles. Next on the News. . . Miami is all wet and Summer is Over in the Sunshine State. . . Sorry, It's Monday.
  2. An old dawg face in a new Ducks world! We will give you a pass, coach, your earning your feathers.
  3. It is in his genes. He is a Legacy. His dad, cousin and now him. I am happy he is a part of the Ducks family. He has brought that maturity and skills to the team.
  4. In all honesty, I would hope that Mario, figures it out. So many kids depend on an adult to lead them in the right direction. Help them become mature adults. Teachers in life, mentors at work or someone to look up to. I would hate to think, that Slick Willie, knew all the weasels that say one thing and live by another. But right now, MC leaves me unconvinced he is a teacher of men. Oh and Happy Birthday.
  5. The issue was not weather the ball was tipped or picked, it was an interception with the defender having a clear path to his end zone. And Bo selflessly threw his body to the ball carrier thus creating the low block foul. So he cost us a TD and 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty. Dan Lanning likes his competitive nature. I do too, keeping Bo healthy is just as important though. Bo, then came back to toss some darts to wide receivers that did not give up on plays. He continued to lead the fight for the win. The players that scored got there because of the blockers, RB's, TE's and coaches that put them in a position to succeed. I saw you there Franklin, nice job keeping on your feet! Way to secure that pass and run down field there Mase! Had any of the players let down during drives or gave up on a play. Would it have been a win? Utah, anyone? Different vibe, different coaching. Different results. Really all Bo has to do is play within himself and stay focused. He showed he is a great leader. The effort to try and tackle that guy, compared to his counterpart on WSU, holding his head in self pity, different QB's. We got the leader, the team guy.
  6. This was a good watch, sorry if someone else may have posted this previously but after the game at WSU. Believe it deserves another look. When I first heard Bo was transferring here, I thought AB all over again. Heisman, NFL draft rebranding at the expense of our young players. His play seemed to be going him first then team. WSU game changed that perspective for me. Lead the Team Bo. If you get the Heisman or Drafted in the NFL, you earned and deserve it. Best of luck to you health and stats wise. In Lanning I trust.
  7. Dan Lanning never gave up. Oregon, down by 12 with WSU answering every score to maintain their lead. He had the focus, leadership that kept the team bought into playing their best. Play as you practiced. Believe in each other and the process. Dan Lanning is special. Even if they lose other games this season, do not give up on this guy. He is the guy that sees the potential in you. You don't think it is there and when it comes out, you are like WOW! Makes me believe that the Ducks can do anything. Dan Lanning is building a team, a school with some great teachers. As CEO/Principal he is empowering his staff to teach and develop the students on the game. Practicing, correcting and emphasizing proper techniques for them to be successful on the field. I for one, thought it was over. I was waiting for the "how do you fix broken post game interview" except for that dang ESPN app showing the recovery and the Ducks taking the lead. Dan Lanning has me believing in his process.
  8. Loved seeing this and the bottom right corner post, "Took all of 4 games" just add "and $80 Million Contract, sucka. . . . "
  9. This is how I felt. . . Can you feel me? Still shaking my head.
  10. Sign of a Winner? I love that Dan Lanning has NOT seemed to change in his demeanor from the Georgia loss to the win in Pullman. He has experienced it all. A tough loss to his old team with great athletes and coaches. To a come from behind win with less than four minutes to play against a solid team with victory, surely, in its grasp. WSU deserved all the praise it had been receiving. It was like watching the Ducks of Old. The WSU offense playing fast and not letting the Duck defense, catch its breath. The Coug defense with speed and grit stopping the strength of the Ducks running attack. Sadly, the Ducks could not score major points and settled for field goals. While the Ducks defense could not keep them from getting into the end zone with regularity. Dan Lanning could have thrown up his hands and gave up. Surely, exchanging TD's was not going to do it for the Ducks. DL was going to make this a teaching moment. Thursday drill, two minute game plan, execute! Get the coaches to plan, play and motivate the players. Do not stop playing. When you do not have the ball, what do you do? Teaching moments. I gave up when the Ducks were down by 12 at 22 to 34. My heart could not take the stress. But I kept my ESPN app on my smart phone. When I saw that the score was 37 to 34, I was like "What The Flock?"! I jumped back on HULU and by the time it got synched the score was 44 to 34 and replaying Funa's pick six. WSU made the score seem close and it was. But the reality of it is, the game is NEVER over if you keep your head in it. And you play like you have practiced. Teaching moments. Great teachers and focused students. Thanks Coach. PS- I watched Coach Lanning's post game interview. I actually enjoy his Post Game interviews, even the Georgia loss. He is so consistent as an educator. Compare that with Coach Cristobal's post game interview. Even when Mario was here, never got the feeling he was teaching or leading staff or team. Glad he is gone. Miami Hurricanes' Mario Cristobal, player reaction post-Middle Tenn WWW.ON3.COM Don't miss seeing for yourself what University of Miami coach Mario Cristobal and players were talking about after today's game.
  11. Alabama, "the" Ohio State, Georgia and Clemson/Oklahoma (tied) will always be at the top. They have the recruits and talent depth to go with the solid coaching. The wanna be's, Florida, FSU, USC, LSU, Tennessee, have had past success but are living off their pasts. Often with over inflated and rated teams and coaches. The top five have the systems and coaches that have made for long successes. Georgia, has a solid team, the depth moving forward and the recruits waiting in the wings. Main reason, Saban, has been so successful, depth of talent, coaching and bringing it all together. Hoping Dan Lanning is our Lightning in a bottle. Love to see His light shine for a long time at Oregon. But in the mean time, best wishes on your road to the NCG.
  12. Mario is in his 50's now, he is what he is and likely wont change. He got the affirmation that he is making the right decisions, at $8 Million a year, thanks Miami and the U. Anyone here think you can convince him now, he is doing it wrong? Who pays a coach that kind of money on his 4 year performance at Oregon? The first two years his staff management and development of players were under question. The last two years a questionable mess due to Covid and his management still questionable. Mario had yet to prove to Oregon; One- he could lead/manage staff and team to develop talent and be competitive on a regular basis. Two- Hire competent staff that could recruit, develop and scheme the team to succeed. Thanks Mario, for the high level of recruiting. You showed that with consistent effort it can be done at Oregon. Oregon will be alright now, with Miami the U showing You the love and money.
  13. We all do, it is what makes the game exciting and fun. Until that injury and time off has you worry about how to pay the bills, now. I would just like him to understand, Bo, not your husband, to play smart. The game was in control and hero plays does not benefit the team and trust the process. I hope athletes see that if you play smart, your talent will be seen by those you most want to notice. That those connections on the field are strengthened. Coaches become more confident and build on your abilities.
  14. I believe he looks better than AB was at this point in the season. He seems to be settling down too. Be a great field general and manage this offense. Go Ducks!
  15. While I give Chip, a lot of credit with the great seasons with him as OC and HC. With out the other coaches, he is UCLA, San Fran and Philly. Not the Super Star he was, at Oregon. If it had been all Chip Kelly, as it is with Nick Saban or Urban Meyer, UCLA would be a Power in South LA. It makes me sad he is not that Super Star but it shows us, that lightning in the bottle was about more at Oregon. Those coaches, Aliotti, Greatwood, Campbell, Pellum, Neal, Osborne and Radcliffe were great teachers too. They made a difference in turning a idea into reality. Executed at a high level with players with potential and heart. Go Ducks!
  16. I feel Bo is maturing and getting comfortable with his line and receivers. It shows in his play. His aggressive play, while it makes him a true threat, opens him up to injury. Makes me dread a Dennis Dixon type injury. Time to groom a capable back up, TT is not yet. Tossing TT in now, even to get him experience, has seemed to be flawed. Mario tried it, albeit hesitantly and Lanning's effort, did not fair as well. Maybe it needs to be vanilla until he gets comfortable. But a capable back up, needs to be in the wings. Just like a Brian Bennett or Nate Costa. Skilled enough, to not get the team in trouble and make good decisions. Having the issues we had when Dennis Dixon went down, affected the whole team. The QB's we went through, even after settling on Masoli, killed the season. The same occurred when Vernon Adams went down and Oregon was left with Lockie and Alie. What a melt down. Waiting for injury, before dealing with a capable back up could blow up an entire season. A season where so many parts are starting to perform well, to include the coaching. I would rather Oregon prepare its team to succeed and be pro active. Than be reactive after a QB injury and tossing them to the wolves. Go Ducks!
  17. Mic said, "It's still early in the 2022 season but the loss to Georgia has be salved a bit, esp with the man-handling of BYU. After next Saturday I think we will have enough 'data points' to assess this team fairly - we need this Pac-12 road game to complete that. WSU is a worthy opponent." Playing in Pullman, has always been interesting, along with worry some. No matter WSU record, they could take the wind out of our sails. The only thing I would say is, even if WSU is 3-0, the teams they have played have been mediocre at best. Idaho is 1-2 and its lone win against a team that is 0-3. Wisconsin is 2-1, win against Illinois St 2-1and win against 0-4 New Mexico St. Colorado St 0-3 and praying for mercy from now on. I am trying to be realistic here and say that while 3-0 looks good and we should be cautious play Oregon Football like we have been there before. Take it to them, play smart on offense. Fix the issues with the secondary and contain the edges of the offense. Pressure on the QB will be important. Have they been really tested. The season is still so young and Coach DL has them growing and improving as is the staff. "WSU is a worthy opponent" I believe this to be true, too. Practice like winners, come game day play like winners. Do NOT take any team for granted. Have faith in the process, says the coach. Should Oregon win, the road games won't seem so scary. Go Ducks!
  18. Lighting in a bottle. Chip almost had it. Helfrich caught a glimpse of it. Dan Lanning, does he grab it and lights up Oregon's future. Oregon wants to play at the Big Boys Level. Ducks always up for the challenges. With the help of great alumni, lead by Phil and Penny Knight. They along with others have set the foundation for prospective student/athletes in all sports at Oregon. New and state of the art facilities for training, indoor/outdoor, climate control, strength and conditioning, health and recovery, academic support along with great coaches/teachers for the sports. Gene Chizik, Ed Orgeron and I am sure there are others whom, have had the schedule, the staff, the players and bounce that gave them the National Title. Oregon has been there and watched the ball bounce away from them before. Some questionable calls against Auburn. Not showing up for the Buckeyes after handing FSU their Hat. Been in the conversation now time to Finish with authority. Looking for the Head Coach and assistants that take this program to the Promised Land. Competitive, year after year, sending athletes to the pro's. And mostly, putting a smile on the faces of those who believed so deeply in the Oregon Way.
  19. And how about Helfrich, the Three Amigos, Ran One hell of a offense and with tempo too. The parts of the "Trifecta" needed to blur the lines. . . Ok, that is just some CRAZY TALK, I know. But then would you call back ALL the old guys from the past, bring them from retirement to have ONE LAST SHOT at the Natty? ? ? Hey Campbell, Greatwood, Aliotti, Pellum, Azzinaro, Neal and Osborne. Along with Strength and Conditioning Jim Radcliffe. One could dream couldn't we, LOL. With the Title, "Make Nebraska Great Again" total sarcasm, intended.
  20. Log Hauling, W O W ! Exactly what I was thinking. I missed the game, I know UNBELIEVABLE, medication took me down. So I had to wait for one of the YTers to post and catch "tape". What I saw was not so clean offense do pretty good. Not mistake free or clean routes OL, RB, TE/WR all did well. Sure it could have been better but first game with live hitting. Bo should have been better. It was hard to tell if it was AB or Bo playing. Sad, to think that JB or TT have not grown enough to get a serious look in the game. Defense, looked like DeRuyters bend a lot do not break. Secondary, what is that?? No edge control and confusion in the middle. Hang over from last years Utah games. My hope is that the Ducks need time to work out the kinks. Hate thinking we have to keep rebuilding the Duck "wheel" all the time. That to me is the most frustrating about new coaches, new scheme. The coaching staff need to jell better, just weird how the defense is playing. "The Pick" "Win the Day", "The Blur Offense", "The Natty" all happened at Oregon. The Chipper, did not take it with him to Philly, San Fran or UCLA. It happened with the Ducks staff, Uncle Phil and a bunch of tough recruits that played beyond their star ratings, here in Eugene, OR. Home of the Ducks.
  21. Time to play Loose, Now. Deep Breaths, no fancy magic game plans. Building a future, seeing your strength, believe in yourself. Believe in your coaches, staff and players. Fly like a Duck, play like a Duck, Go Ducks.
  22. Hoping that we get you to come to our Neck of the Woods to enjoy some Oregon Hospitality, weather(the sunny kind) and game day experience. Have enjoyed all of the Team Banter and pregame story lines. Good Luck and best wishes on an injury free game, let the battle begin and may the Best Ducks Win.
  23. I maybe assuming, but I think PD, he may have been plucking the Duck if you know what I mean. As that is how I read it, all in good jest. Sorry that the growing of the FD has caused some growing pains but all will be well, keep up the good work Charles and Mods.
  24. See an Offense up by three plus scores and back ups getting real game reps will impress me. Does not have to be the Blur Offense but a little Dilly Dilly never hurt anyone but the competition. Looking for a great defense though with the smell of some Nacho Cheese to bring back the memories. . .
  25. So interesting that they get mixed up, but Fish is Correct, as that is Rod Serling and his Twilight Zone Easily confusing brother. . .
