Herbstreit and Howard Pick Oregon As National Champs
MicroBurst61 replied to Ktmguy2018's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Hmmmm...I always thought that was a PREREQUISITE, in today's "click based" media sources?!?! -
Plan in Place for Home Playoff Game? And Boise State?
MicroBurst61 replied to DUCKS4OUUO's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Because we Haven't! Can't wait to rectify that fact in a couple of weeks! And I don't want it to even be close! (56-20 would "taste" nicely)! GO Ducks! -
Too Many Articles Posted? Your Feedback PLEASE....

One-Stop-Shop for ALL my "Duck Fandom Compulsions"! All without any of the negativity and bravado; nor is anyone trying to constantly "sell me" on subscriptions to enjoy "opinions" about our OBD's. Love the info. Love the discussions. Love the FishDuck Forum. Keep up the good work to all who regularly contribute and participate, especially the forum manager Mr. Charles FishDuck! GO Ducks! -
If it will draw enough eyeballs to make enough "dinero"...you better believe it will happen. Our Beloved Ducks ARE an international brand after all. And, yes I will be up and "quacking" at whatever time the kickoff may be! GO Ducks!

Looks like they got "the band back together". Wonder if that is going to translate to the court? One can only be hopeful. GO! -
Heisman Trophy Articles, Updates, About Dillon Gabriel
MicroBurst61 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I swear if Gabriel wins the Heisman, while wearing number Eight; then Oregon Football needs to Demand that all future starting QB's wear that number. (Even if they have to swap the jersey when subbing out!). GO Quackers! -
Stewart Mandel NOT Sold on Ducks...
MicroBurst61 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Yup....but I hear the same thing being said by other "talking heads" about the Oregon program, so talent depth I think we compete well there also. -
Stewart Mandel NOT Sold on Ducks...
MicroBurst61 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Fair enough Opinion. The B1G has always believed, or at least strived to be, The Ground and Pound O VS the Big N Beefy Monsters of the D. "That Team Out West" has always been that flashy, speedy, quirky team that is good for wins against 90% of opponents, but fail when tasked with "larger" offensive and defensive teams. Well D. Lanning has addressed that "size" issue on both sides of the ball, and the B1G has rarely seen an offense as potentially prolific as what is coming their way this year. Honestly, we don't actually know how the new members of the B1G will compete in their new league. But, I do believe that with Oregon leading the way that the fundamental approach of the B1G will have to evolve. I'm two to three years this same "pundit" will very probably have an entirely different Opinion on the validity of the Oregon Ducks competitive abilities in the B1G, and the landscape of college football. At least this one "fan"atic truly Believes so! GO Ducks! -
The Sky Has Fallen? How it Happens for Oregon…
MicroBurst61 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
By being up 45-10; with Gabriel's stat line reading 17 of 22 / 340 yds. / 4TD / 47 yds Rushng / 1 TD. THUS keeping him fresh throughout the season. Limit chance of injury. Get Moore, and others, additional reps under GameDay Stein offense. Intimidate current and future opponents with our Gabriel led, unstoppable, offensive juggernaut. Yeah, do that for eight games this season and "Gabe" will be A lock to visit New York. (Other four games, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, Maryland, Gabriel will be in for the entire game....sorry Washington we will have our revenge complete by the time "Shout" is echoing through Autzen!). Which will only "up" his stat lines even more. Remember the Ducks have an eight game conference stretch without a bye, two of those games have the opponent coming off of a bye before playing us. So roster management will be more significant than usual and giving rest to your starters is one of the best ways to do so. I swear I definitely give Waayyy to much thought to the nuances of something I have absolutely no control or effect on. Naaahhh, I don't have Duck Football living 24/7 in my head! Oh yeah.... Fandom! GO Ducks! -
Ok...Great way to feed the fire of anticipation for the upcoming season. I know only two of four episodes of "That Team Out West" have been released, but they are definitely on par, or exceeding, the weekly game recaps from last season. (Hats off to the UofO A/V and marketing department) My absolutely favorite "clip" out of the entire "Physicality" episode was in the last minute, when whom I believe is Jordan James (#20), showing the definition of Physicality while carrying half the Oregon Defense (big and beefy Oregon D!) for a few more yards! And I do think the placement of that clip at the end was premeditated for that exact reason. Now I need one of those motivational posters from the late 90's, early 2000's of that last clip with the word PHYSICALITY printed below. Damn, I wish the first game was Saturday! GO Oregon Ducks Football!

Oregon Fans…Consider “What If…”
MicroBurst61 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
"What-if 's" are a significant reason why one of my mantra's in life is: "Life is what happens while your busy making other plans". Not that we should just resign ourselves to an unknown future fate; just that we recognize the ability to assess, and make changes as necessary, to even our "best laid plans of mice and men". The University of Oregon "Ducks" Athletics have done a Masterful job, the past quarter century, of doing Exactly This! 2024 may, just may, be the cumulation of all the efforts! GO DUCKS!!! -
Lanning Learned 'CoachSpeak'...
MicroBurst61 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Insights into opposing teams strategies, along with said organizations own perceived strengths and weaknesses, can give a Huge advantage on and off the field. (Defending Michigan National Champions are currently under the "scope" for sign-stealing). I remember the years before Chip took over as HC when you could watch the players practice when visiting the Duck store at Autzen. Also remember one of Chips first priorities as Head Coach was window filming those very said windows to prevent any advantage of his "blur" offense from getting out. Point being, press and fans want information to "cuss and discuss" about their fan favorite team. Those same teams are looking for every competitive advantage they can harness and will feel no shame in gathering information about an opponent, while at the same time holding close to their vests any information about their own team. So, CoachSpeak is expected from any program. And it will Not change anytime soon. But, we still gotta ask! Cause how did that ad campaign go for that national "rag" magazine back in the late 90's-turn of the century? "Inquiring minds...want to know. Uh... yeah. -
Ahhh the eternal optimism of every football fan before any games have been played. I myself sit here and believe an undefeated season lies before us. However, sporting competitions can never be won...on paper. That's why we actually play the games. And when we play the games there is this little thing called...intangibles. Too many examples to list of athletes or teams expected to win handily just to have those "intangibles" rise up and bite them in the arse and snatch defeat away from the arms of victory. (Kenny Wheaton's going to score...Kenny Wheaton's going to score!) Point is I will relish the victories as they happen and "cope" with the "intangible losses" when I have to, remembering that those losses happen to ALL sports and athletes and they too have to "cope" when they lose a competition they were expected to win. Sounds a lot like "Life" to me. Go figure. Go Quackers!

Will Lanning/Lupoi Return to the Aliotti Strategy?
MicroBurst61 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Allioti did wonders with the personel Oregon was able to recruit (No transfer portal). I bet he absolutely would have LOVED to coach a defensive team, with the players, that Oregon is able to field now. We probably would have seen some schemes, from that top defensive mind, that he could never, confidently install during his time here. But, yes I do believe we will be "surprising" a few teams in the B1G, this year. When they discover that our defense....bites back! Go Ducks! -
Russian Attack on OBD Green Refuge Thwarted
MicroBurst61 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Well if it is any consolation it is my, unverifiable, belief that we have been involved in an escalated "cyber warfare" for most of 2024. Just not widely "suggested" or "reported", since it is a real good way to cause Digital Panic, in a society built around and dependent upon, the digital world. That being said THANK YOU Sir Charles for being that "Guardian at the Gate. Allows us to submerse ourselves in our OBD forum and for a little while get to "forget" the external powers being wielded, that directly effect our lives in so many impactful ways. Justa letsa messa "Duck Out", and let the rest of the world "fall where it may". After all, isn't "sports" that universal "release" that satisfies our ingrained, natural, competitive nature in All of us? I think so. Go Ducks! -
Wow. In no way shape or form would a media rights deal for the conference formally known as the PAC12 would have even come close to the MINIMUM that will be made through these varied revenue streams, the half share only being one of those revenues. Duck Football is positioned, quite well, to "cash-in", Now and into the near future, on the several additional revenue streams available by Being "in" the B1G. Hate as much as the next guy about the conference formally known as the PAC12 being "gone"; but cannot blame the "program" for acting in the best financially responsible way to continue to meet or exceed the longterm goals or plans. Yeah, the half share thing is not nearly as B1G of a financial issue when you take these other revenue opportunities into account. Go Ducks!

Well with all the recruiting successes D. Lanning and company have been able to achieve, it's good to know that they are still just human, and have their "shortcomings". Not sure what the "nothing" position group all entails, but I'm confident that through the portal, or more HS recruiting, D. Lanning and company are ON IT, and will more than satisfy the needs at that "nothing" position group! Go Ducks!

"The Duck" Continues His Visits to the BIG Ten
MicroBurst61 replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Not even played a single game from a single sport in the B1G and WE be planting those seeds, to live forevermore in our new conferences "heads"! Beavis, OooCLA (they're in LA), USuC, and the Buttsniffers from up north can all attest to having the Oregon Ducks living in their heads. We just be expanding our "head worms" to a whole new level of frustrating our opponents! Go B1G Ducks!
