  1. Btw, the whiteout really fires up the crowd. It would be like us doing "Shout" every quarter. The fact they haven't won more often is a reflection on their decisions to use this against best opponents. However they were on a current 6 game winning streak. Now they will need to start a new streak. 😁
  2. Ncaa rules state home teams wear darker uni unless visiting team ok's a change. An example from this year, Tulane wanted to wear an all-white uni against Northwestern at their home opener to remember hurricane Katrina. Northwestern proudly (and wrongly) declined.
  3. I love it. A little "Raideresque"like our winning the B1G championship. Plus, it's very threatening, 'the curse of the mummy' and all that. Mummy Duck shoes, wraps, etc. In a 'white out' no less. I think this is brilliant. Everyone wear GREEN. GO Ducks. Kill the Lion!
  4. I've had many of the same thoughts. PSU has not played a game yet that prepares them for a game speed of Oregon. Tackling to the ground could be an issue. We also have impressive team speed. Our guys have played 2 P4 teams already, which means against better D-lines and O-lines. Our big guys know what to expect. We've also traveled to a different time zone already. And is there a better motivator then Lanning anywhere! Should be an awesome game. Better set the DVR cuz we'll want to rewatch this game over and over!
  5. Amazing insight. Thanks JJ.
  6. I totally agree, but I don't think Davison will sit. They clearly like him in short yardage situations. Almost all his touches have resulted in 1st downs ot TD's! That leaves just D Hill to redshirt. Would M Hughes be willing to wait another year? This week should give answers.
  7. I think Hill and Davison surprised at being so capable as freshmen. I can only believe Hughes has been slower to pick up offense and/or show he can block effectively. It appears Noah is #1. Limar #2, and Davison for short yardage. Hill and Hughes are there too, but how many touches will they get. I believe that rotation will be reduced across all positions as the season progresses. It will be up to each player to be ready when he gets his chance. There is no doubt our RB room is deep with loads of potential. Having fresh backs for all 4 quarters will be advantageous. We will see the cream rise to the top each week.
  8. Listening to coach Stein talk, I think he wants to stay at Oregon for at least a few more years. But a connection with a Texas school makes sense.
  9. And our mighty Ducks will be facing at least 3 of those qb's in the regular season. This is shaping up to be a really fun season!
  10. This talk reminds me of last year after wins in our 1st three games. And we ended up 12 - 0. The real season is about to start. Lots of great games remain. It's too early to be in top form. We improve every week. And it's a looonng season. I think we are doing what's needed to win. 1st real test is this week. Can't wait for the game. All of you going to the game, please yell LOUD!
  11. I've never stopped calling it the 'Civil War'. Always thought the reasons were ill advised, uninformed, and who cares anyway. We, as a country to easily overly politicize everything. Besides, it really is a 'civil" Civil War. As for Mr C, he has attached himself to a sinking ship (Pac(St)8) and desperately needs paid viewers. Of which I will never be one. Go Ducks! Put lil' bro in his place.
  12. Ducks 55 - 10 2 - t/o 3 - Saks 257 - yds pass (lot's of rushing yds)
  13. I'm with you Charles, but... Phil & Penny represent the entire state in actuality. Yes Eugene. Yes UO. But their generosity and philanthropy reaches all across the state. Even to Corvalis. They have quietly given millions to OSU. The heart clinic where my wife received life saving surgery is named the Phil and Penny Knight Pavillion, here in Portland. The largest heart facility between Seattle and San Francisco. It makes sense to do this for Civil War game. And as a footnote, the special "state honor" unis, blue and orange/yellow, and the absurdly strange orange legged Duck honor unis, both led to disastrous losses. Humiliating even. This game should all but guarantee a win.
  14. As usual, cool and original. The blackout should be OK as they will be in light color, away units. 69 - 3 sounds good to me!
  15. 42 - 13 Oregon 2 - t/o 3 - Saks 257 yds pass
  16. IMO, as long as the B1G remains the conference, revenue sharing should be equal through the regular season and playoff teams share playoff revenue. A stronger conference, as deep as possible, only makes the whole better. Especially for rankings. And rankings are needed to make playoff. The problem with the old Pac12 was that half the country thought it was USuC and everyone else. So a win against Utah, or ASU, etc carried no weight with voters. Whereas beating Ol Miss (or any SEC team) was a great win. You get my drift. tOSU wanting unequal shares is selfish and short-sighted. It's also a move to try and get in front of potential west coast dominance with OBD, UW and USuC surging on the horizon. (Oregon is already there) without full revenue shares Something tOSU is overlooking is the need for mid-level teams to be in- conference to aid in stacking the win column. If PSU, UM, tOSU, USC, UW, Oregon, et al, played each other every year, there would be a lot of cannibalizing and hurting chances of making playoff. Let's recognize the need for "team" play and try and lift each other. A strong conference isn't needed for pro league, but I think a strong conference is mandatory in college. Especially when deciding who makes playoffs is often so subjective.
  17. So all players are Lannings guys. All buy in to his "team " philosophy. We are seeing the results. This year's team is different, cuz they're all Lannings boys. We need to change our thinking as Duck fans, cuz these guys are all buying in to the Lanning philosophy: team first. Look at the blocking, the sacrifice (Noah's block on blitz), down field blocking, etc. These guys want everyone to succeed. Raise can be a BIG year. My opinion: Dante is the guy to lead us to a Natty. BUT, Austin Novosad can get it done too. We are in great shape!
  18. Remember he didn't like our fast paced, no huddle offense either. No one like change or adaptations that take away your advantage. Now that everyone can pay players above board, the SEC has no advantage. The degree programs are pretty much all better in B1G schools as they are all AAU members. Dream on st Nick.
  19. Oregon 43 - 9 2 - t/o 4 - Saks 257 - yds pass
  20. If this happens as reported, Oregon might not be able to get transfers before Spring quarter. Winter quarter starts 1st few days of Jan. Registration to be done by Christmas at latest (I think). All transfers would have to start Sping or Summer, possibly missing Spring practice.
  21. Doesn't school start winter session in January? How would a transfer get registered?
  22. Too much early money makes "desire" too difficult to motivate. They already getting paid.
