  1. Are we even allowed walk-ons now? Aren't we at 105 scholarships and no walk-ons?
  2. OK, my bad. I was thinking Brock was the Weipert kid Charles wrote about. This is BT's 3rd year at Oregon. Some of what I said still applies. Sorry for my confusion.
  3. From what I've seen in last 2 spring games, both Austin and Luke can handle D1 football. And yes, neither have redshirts to give. IMO, at least 1 has to leave to get playing time next year. Mop-up duty isn't much prep for in-game experience. I don't believe either needs that type of playing time. Playing Brock gives greater dividends. 1: it shows confidence in his ability to maintain the status quo. This helps show future and current recruits that being "good enough is old enough". It encourages all young players that hard work in practice is rewarded. 2: if BT wants to transfer, there is some film on him. 3: I think AN was a little dinged up, no reason to risk fluke re-injury. I personally believe that Dante returns for next season. I also think we have a very stacked QB room. Which only seems to be improving, looking to future recruits. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. Love for Lanning and NIL are solid reasons to stay, but a QB needs to play.
  4. So much worry about us, they forgot about Michigan! Maybe should just concentrate on the game at hand!
  5. Don't want to be negative, but these units give me a bad feeling. Not a bit of green or yellow. Oi vey!
  6. I think coming up with the extra $20.5 million each year to pay the athletes is a real deal. And we don't want a different stadium. 60K including standing room will have to do. I personally love being at the games, but my old body can't stand and scream for 4 quarters, so I let younger bods take my place and I watch from my comfy recliner on my lil 60" lcd.
  7. Smart guys do well at qb. Just ask Justin Herbert. Here's hoping Mendoza doesn't have his best day Sat. May he have many face to face time with our D-line and his head buzz with Autzen's cacophony of sound!
  8. I have yellow, black and a green cheap ponchos for rain games. I'm "covered". 😉
  9. I confess I wasn't thrilled with these until my wife claimed she "loved" them. So, now I "like" them. 🤷‍♂️ What can I do? She's a great cook!
  10. Right. Like strength of schedule all of a sudden matters?! Wait till they all play 9 conference games each year. Just win baby, just win!
  11. Fun read. Thanks Darren. This could be a very good game for viewers. Both offenses are playing lights out. Which defense steps up will be the key. We stopped the run at PSU, now can we defend the pass. C'mon Autzen. Be loud and proud!
  12. I've not given pundits, "experts" much validity since Charles started 'Fishduck.com'. I used to think Herbstreit knew his stuff. But learning about Chip's offense from this site made me realize that KH had no clue what the Ducks were doing! I've learned so much from all the contributions here that it's obvious that the "experts" are merely repeating popular talking points. They are still stuck in the '80's for football success. Only the SEC and a few "Bluebloods" can win it all. Now, with NIL, the portal, and all athletes getting paid, 'above board', the old school elites no longer have an advantage. They can no longer store up blue-chip players and hold onto deep rosters. Now you can actually play at Cincinnati, or Vanderbilt, etc, get exposure AND make $$$. Preseason rankings based on last year are now invalid because every year is now a new roster. E.g. how many teams are starting a new transfer QB! Anyway, I laugh at preseason polls. But I love my OBD community!
  13. I can't find any sympathy. Even if they go oh-fer. They and Canzano deserve each other. At least for now they still have baseball?
  14. Scoo Ducks!!! This is awesome. Now everybody show up!! Woo hoo!!
  15. NIL $$ makes the staying choice much easier. His willingness to submit to sitting last year proves he understands the long term value he gains by learning all he can. The QB position, along with maybe O-line, are the spots where live game experience is most needed for NFL success. My money says he stays. If he does, we mist likely lose Novosad.
  16. It appears to me to be an issue of coaching. The coaches at Oregon seem to be able to get more out of players. That's pretty straight forward. Our coaches are amazing! They have done it time after time. We are very fortunate to have Coach Lanning; a Natty is in our future. You just gotta believe.
  17. I believe that's what they sing after all of their top 10 losses, the Blues. 🤣
  18. Btw, the whiteout really fires up the crowd. It would be like us doing "Shout" every quarter. The fact they haven't won more often is a reflection on their decisions to use this against best opponents. However they were on a current 6 game winning streak. Now they will need to start a new streak. 😁
  19. Ncaa rules state home teams wear darker uni unless visiting team ok's a change. An example from this year, Tulane wanted to wear an all-white uni against Northwestern at their home opener to remember hurricane Katrina. Northwestern proudly (and wrongly) declined.
  20. I love it. A little "Raideresque"like our winning the B1G championship. Plus, it's very threatening, 'the curse of the mummy' and all that. Mummy Duck shoes, wraps, etc. In a 'white out' no less. I think this is brilliant. Everyone wear GREEN. GO Ducks. Kill the Lion!
  21. I've had many of the same thoughts. PSU has not played a game yet that prepares them for a game speed of Oregon. Tackling to the ground could be an issue. We also have impressive team speed. Our guys have played 2 P4 teams already, which means against better D-lines and O-lines. Our big guys know what to expect. We've also traveled to a different time zone already. And is there a better motivator then Lanning anywhere! Should be an awesome game. Better set the DVR cuz we'll want to rewatch this game over and over!
  22. Amazing insight. Thanks JJ.
  23. I totally agree, but I don't think Davison will sit. They clearly like him in short yardage situations. Almost all his touches have resulted in 1st downs ot TD's! That leaves just D Hill to redshirt. Would M Hughes be willing to wait another year? This week should give answers.
