  1. I'll be in my jammies, and may just watch the first half, depending on how the game is going.
  2. My husband was on the sidelines for that game as a guest faculty coach. Now I think guest coaches (if they still have them) sit up in the enclosed seats somewhere.
  3. Well, the most memorable is the 2000 Holiday Bowl where Oregon beat Texas and Joey scored on a pass, run, and reception. Also, 95% of the TX fans were insufferable the whole time we were in San Diego, so very satisfying to see them slinking out of the stadium after the game as the Duck fans stayed to watch the fireworks. Also, it was just a wonderful trip with my dear husband, and a memory I revisit often.
  4. Maybe some of the Beaver fans should read the Where are the Will Stein Boo-Birds thread, and take a deep breath.
  5. Are there any equivalents to "PAC-12 After Dark" shows for the B1G? I loved being able to watch the repeats of that on Sunday mornings.
  6. For me, as far as excitement goes, it was definitely a great game! So fun to watch, to cheer, and to celebrate the win!
  7. Though I figured the booing was aimed at the call playing, I never like booing. For one thing, not sure the players know at what the booing was directed, and, secondly, I just don't like any booing--except sometimes when it's directed toward the refs. The refs are fair game, IMHO.
  8. Despite the ups and downs, I felt that the crowd was in it the entire game. It was so loud that my ears were ringing, and that's the kind of crowd atmosphere I like best.
  9. When Lanning first came to Oregon he said that it would be like growing bamboo. You water it for 3-5 years, and at that point it suddenly shoots up to 90'. Of course, I'm hoping for that to happen in the third year.
  10. Here are some thoughts by Geoff Schwartz after he watched film of the game:
  11. On the other hand, we could use umbrellas in the stadium back then.
  12. Doug Koke rode it, then retired. I thought someone new started either 2 years ago, or last year. In any case, it's any exciting start!
  13. Someone new has been riding the Harley the last couple of years, I think it is. So fun to hear it roar into the stadium!
  14. I generally skip the news articles in favor of an article written by a forum member, or the thoughts on various subjects by the forum members. But that's just me. After all, there are no pop quizzes or tests at the end of the week.
  15. Being an early riser, I'd be totally okay with a 9 AM Pacific KO--but I also totally understand why it would not work for 99% of fans attending a game.
  16. I understand why the game is at 4:30, but personally I'd like to see a couple of 12:30 games at Auzten. I'm a morning person, and I'd like to see a home game where it is still light out when the game is over. BTW, when Ohio State is here, will they bring the band, and, if so, will current students be able to read the cursive writing when the "i" is dotted?
  17. I wish they'd just stick with yellow, period. To me, black at night games just makes the stadium look empty.
  18. Maybe he's related to Rocky Graziano, one-time middleweight champ?
  19. Okay, you know, I think what I was remembering was that a lot of reporters/analysts after the game questioned why the ball wasn't just handed off to Kaufman on that drive!
  20. I thought that the ball was handed to Kaufman 3 or 4 times before the fatal throw for the interception, but then, my memory might be faulty too. It has been 40 years. Also, I thought that the Ducks success (meaning a winning season) in football started improving not too awfully long after Newnham left for Seattle.
  21. Yes, he is The Duck! Puddles was the name of a live Duck the student body paraded around in the early 20th century. Hail to The Ducks!
  22. It's been a while, so the memory cells are not fresh, but didn't Chip forgo 2-3 FG attempts for going for it on 4th down in the national championship game against Auburn? It happens...
  23. You never know when the gates to a stadium might be unlocked. One year, many years ago, I was on a trip that included parts of Texas and we found a gate to the Cotton Bowl unlocked. I can't believe it now, but we actually went inside and walked around the stadium, and I even went down on the field and ran a few yards. Maybe The Duck will have similar luck at one of the B1G stadiums.
