  1. Saw the picture of him with Sanders a couple of days ago, so disappointed, but not surprised.
  2. The thing is, to me, doesn't this additional game make for 14 regular-season games for the Ducks next year? I mean, isn't that kind of grueling?
  3. Let's see. Before Oregon left for the B1G, I think USC and UCLA were already gone, then CO, then AZ, ASU, and Utah all announced that they were about to leave, and around that time Stanford and Cal announced they were leaving. But, sure, Oregon is to blame for the demise of the PAC-12.
  4. A surprise, to me, anyway. https://www.si.com/college/oregon/recruiting/oregon-ducks-cornerback-trikweze-bridges-enters-the-transfer-portal?fbclid=IwAR0Jg1z0vg3x1U-fricken-9Hgchibo6qlceZY8Ql-xmDjJwOMYrSkfEiYN8EfGHk
  5. Well, I guess while am I a super fan of the Ducks, I am not a Superfan. I love, love, love the Ducks and love watching them play. I am joyful for days after they win. But when they lose, well, I'm sad for a short while, but then I start looking ahead, be it to the next game or the next season. I think of the real sadness I've dealt with, be it personal or out in the world, and losing a football game just doesn't compare for me. That's not to say that I think there's anything amiss with someone really feeling down after a loss. We feel what we feel, and there's no right or wrong about that.
  6. No surprise, but sad. I love the Holiday Bowl and was disappointed when it was "downgraded." I remember so well when the Ducks beat Texas in the 2000 Holiday Bowl and Joey scored running, throwing, and receiving. It was so satisfying to see the 98% of the TX fans who were so snotty and sure they were going to win slinking slowly out of the stadium.
  7. I wonder too. I'd guess that they really wanted it, but for whatever reason got off on the wrong foot, caught up and went ahead, but just couldn't get the win. It was 3 points. That's so close.
  8. Oregon receiver Kris Hutson enters transfer portal - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Oregon junior receiver Kris Hutson, a two-year starter with the Ducks, has opted to enter the transfer portal.

  10. The committee often does seem to think that they are judges in a "beauty contest" (don't get me started on those! ), but, as others have said, there are considerations such as tie-ins and other agreements.
  11. Lots of players do see the sports psychologist, but if it was a recent decision by Bo, that is of interest. Of course, who knows exactly why. Football related? School related? Personal? In any case, glad players have the option these days to talk to someone professional.
  12. Thank you, Charles, for creating and maintaining such a safe and sane forum!
  13. Thanks! That never gets old.
  14. I thought Ken Woody would mention this in his write up about the PAC-12 Championship game and he did: "Oregon’s offensive line looked anemic, rather than destructive, and Irving looked injured--it was a discouraging sight. The Ducks were getting punished in the trenches because the pad level of Washington’s offensive and defensive linemen was nearly always lower than Oregon’s. The old adage 'low man wins,' was never more appropriate and spoke to the superiority of the Huskies, all based on 'leverage.'"
  15. 1) Bo will be playing--and maybe that will inspire other NFL-potential Duck players to join him. 2) It is a New Year's Day bowl! 3) The Liberty players, coaches, and fans are thrilled their team will be in the Fiesta Bowl and that kind of excitement is contagious. 4) See #2! This gives the Ducks the opportunity for an upbeat finish to the season! GO DUCKS!
  16. Bo did say he has never played in a New Year's Day bowl before!
  17. I still can't wrap my head around this. I mean other pairings are like 5 & 6, 7& 9, 10& 11--but the Fiesta Bowl (a Jan. 1 bowl game!) is 8 & 23??? I don't get it. I just don't get it.
  18. All I can say is . I imagine the Fiesta Bowl folk are not thrilled about this either.
  19. I can never understand the total negativity of such "fans." Have they lost their houses betting on games? Are their egos so wrapped up in games that they can't handle a loss? I mean, sure, I'm sad when the Ducks lose, but I still love OBD!
  20. I don't blame the FSU fans for being incensed. Undefeated and conference champions--what more could they have done to get in!
  21. Bill Oram: For Bo Nix and Oregon Ducks, a magical ride comes to an abrupt end WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM The final football game in the 108-year-old conference knocks the Ducks out of the national title race.
  22. I've been watching the games today while I've been decorating the Christmas tree, and that's probably what I would have done even if the Ducks had won last night. Sometimes you just have to multitask.
  23. I try to never look too far ahead. That said, how many one-loss teams will there be at the end of the day, and how would things have been sorted out if the Ducks had beat uw?
