  1. Canzano: Pac-12 gut punch comes with a cost WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Ex-Fox Sports Network executive weighs in; could Oregon-Washington be next for Big Ten?
  2. I guess I don't understand the new math. Reports put the B1G potential media rights at $1 billion, the same reports ballpark each of the existing 14 members will receive $100 million. Not sure how that works. Even more confusing is by adding at least two and possibly four (or more) institutions the distribution will remain the same $100 million. Will Fox suddenly decide to pay $2 billion for an expanded advertising base? Wouldn't that indicate another entity (say a PAC-12/Big12 merger) might also have access to that additional billion dollars? If Fox doesn't double their payout how does a billion dollars split 18 ways equal $100 million each?
  3. I quit reading in the first paragraph when he referenced the West Coast Conference is in a frenzy looking to expand. Isn't it the Pac-12 talking about expansion, not the WCC? If you can't get the basics right........
  4. I assume you are talking about this study. Which college football programs bring in the most TV viewers? | by Zach Miller | Run It Back With Zach | Medium MEDIUM.COM TV viewership isn’t always the best way to measure a college football program’s value. But here’s how each school ranks since 2015. At a quick glance it appears the author included viewership of games carried by the Pac-12 network. If so the number of eyeballs is skewed by the pathetic arrangement network engineered by Larry Scott. For example in 2020 the Pac-12 network had 14.8 million subscribers, the SEC and B1G reportedly had over 50 million. Didn't find numbers for the Big 12 but I'm certain they are better than the Pac.
  5. Games will need to be 4-5 hours long to allow for all the commercials. I will set the DVR and quit watching live. Not sure it is a financially sustainable model.
  6. There is a word for the UCLA/USC move and poultry farmers have an ample supply.
  7. I agree 100%, wouldn't change a single word of what you wrote.
  8. Echo's of the breakup of the Pacific Coast Conference. Oregon became independent and actually did fairly well until it rejoined what became the Pac-8 in the mid-60's.
  9. Initial guess is this is a power move to change revenue sharing in the Pac. They have the best location so of course they should get the most money, at least that is what their selfish little minds think. If they can't dominate a weakened Pac-12 how will they fare against THE OSU, Michigan, etc.
  10. A couple independent media reports on day 2. Interesting how they watch the same performance and reach different conclusions. Elite 11 Finals: Kohl, Moore Tie for Top Spot on Day 2 WWW.SI.COM Midwest quarterback prospects won the pro day-styled script competition on Wednesday. Top performers from Day 2 of 2022 Elite 11 Finals: Rickie Collins claims top spot - Scorebook Live NEWS.SCOREBOOKLIVE.COM Collins was SBLive's top rated QB from the Pro Day portion of the Elite 11.
  11. I usually don't dabble in conspiracy theories but events on the recruiting trail the past couple weeks cause me to go hmmmmm. First Portland area Riley Williams, the top tight end in the Pacific Northwest, drops early favorite Oregon and then announces he is transferring to IMG Academy in Florida with their nearly $90,000 annual tuition. Next Jayden Rashada, another Oregon target, reportedly negotiates a $9 million NIL deal with Miami super booster (and MC relative) John Ruiz. Now Seattle area 5* Jayden Wayne, a frequent Oregon visitor, checked his piggy bank, found the $90,000 IMG tuition, and announced his transfer. Predictions of a Miami commitment soon followed. We know John Ruiz was a financial kingpin of the Cristobal to Miami move. We know Mr. Ruiz "has pledged to spend at least $10 million on athletes he believes can help promote his businesses." Does that $10 million include buying high school juniors? Miami booster John Ruiz not worried about NCAA investigation - MIAMI SAVES MIAMISAVES.ORG Placeholder while article actions load The NCAA gave notice recently that penalties could be coming for universities whose boosters use
  12. I don't see the purple poodles an this list.
  13. Look who took the top spot in day 1 rankings. Elite 11 Finals: Moore, Nelson and Arnold Lead on Day 1 WWW.SI.COM Moore, the nation's top uncommitted quarterback, dominates the opening day of camp.
  14. This article is about ten days old but it doesn't look promising. Oregon Ducks Softball: Roster Update WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM A look at who left after the end of the 2022 season
  15. Prediction: Oregon Ducks to land 5-star quarterback Dante Moore - Scorebook Live NEWS.SCOREBOOKLIVE.COM The Oregon Ducks appear poised to land a five-star quarterback in the class of 2023 after all. Despite missing out on Nico Iamaleava (Tennessee) and Jaden
  16. Remember Moore is participating in the Elite 11 finals which start tomorrow in Los Angeles. A stop in Eugene isn't that far out of his way coming from Detroit. Still the visit is a good sign.
  17. Thank you. Descriptions of the H-D mention both a dining area and a nutrition center. I assume healthy food and guidance are readily available to all athletes? The complex opened in 2013, seven years before the unnamed athlete sent her email to the AD. I believe a responsible journalist should have mentioned that piece of information in his column.
  18. Don't track athletes have access to "training tables" just like football players? The Oregon Athletic Dept staff directory lists positions such as "Sports Dietitian", "Senior Sports Dietitian", Director of Performance and Sports Science", "Director of Food Operations", plus cooks and food operations. I doubt T&F is excluded.
  19. Look at Oregon high hurdlers Jerry Tarr and Devon Allen. I'm certain the discipline to run the exact number of steps of the exact length to excel in the 120HH translates well to running a precise route as a wide receiver.
  20. Thanks. Just looked up the project details and it appears a likely candidate. Appreciate the info.
