Or...that being our last Autzen game until the spring game...but yes planning on NFL, but he already has to know what beating the bark rats means...he'll be out there this Saturday, and hopefully in Vegas the following week...and win in Cowvallis over the ag school, and Rose Bowl is highly likely. David Marsh and cartm25 I think you are on to something...3 DC's is not easy for kids in 3 years, but...we don't have the load of 5 star kids Georgia had that could create pressure with just a 4 man rush and hold up in the back 7. We have some stars and they've proven themselves (Noah, Gonzales) but the D-line is not at the level of the GA, AL, tOSU, Clemson types. Yet. I think the offense will be ok, just need to get those big time D recruits. The next 3 games, 4 if we can figure this out...we need to find a way to create pressure. 4 man rush cover 2 isn't getting it done against good teams. The next 2-3 games will be really good teams!

If he's gone this year due to injury (think Dennis Dixon) then we're looking at 8-5.

I think our success this year will improve recruiting, and kids know about Lanning and Lupoi's success on D. We start filtering in more and more true 5 stars on D, and keep the offensive juggernaut going (no reason to think we won't, curious to see next year with a less experienced O-line) and we will be fine

Good insight David, and I agree. I doubt Nix comes back, but he could have a monster year and Moore could have that one year to grow and learn, and perhaps get more "garbage" minutes, and perform well--hopefully. Thompson was a 5 star too...highest ranked QB in Duck history? Moore will top that, and hopefully...he looks the part. Truth is, Thompson hasn't--yet. So it could be an assumption to say Moore would win the back up spot if Nix returned, or if Nix goes pro, that Moore becomes the first true freshman starter at Oregon in...forever? (Day 1 starter that is...Herbert was like week 5 or 6 I recall?)

At the same time, don't get a starter injured late in a blowout, just for style points...there is a balance there somewhere I suppose

Chip=best rushing, Helfrich=best passing (and Mariota), Lanning/Dillingham= best efficiency and results!

If Nix bails after this season (nobody would blame him if he did) then I bet we see the true freshman win the job next fall
