Thanks JB. This morning I opted toed for Sling Orange + Sports package (since I'm really only interested in CFB). I was watching it just fine for several hours when, right in the middle of the replay of last years National Title game, I got a '2-502' message telling me the app is temporarily unavailable and to wait one minute, the restart Sling. That was a way more than a minute ago and still no signal. What did I pay for, the see a black screen? My Sling coverage has just stopped for no apparent reason...

Famous Fearless FishDuck Forecast for 2023 Ducks
Mic replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
National Title in year 2. Oh, I wish, but that just might be a bridge too far. Pac-12's final Champion would be enough for me to be completely dazzled. Beating OSU in the Civil would make this a successful season. Winning another 10 games would still make me smile. But a Natty? Whew! Either you're completely nuts or you have a large pair of family jewels. Go Ducks! -
$3000 ain't much, not in this inflationary environment. Still, something in me doesn't love this wall (apologies to Robt. Frost). Money for families? Why not completely just bury any notion of amateurism once and for all. Let's vote for monies for all families, all season, all games? Indeed. Sorry is I sound so negative.

As KPNW reported this morning (on the Wake Up Show) the coach of Nebraska VB stated that only 3 things shutdown Nebraska: Snow storms, Covid-19 (let's hope that never happens again!) and Women's volley ball. Uh, there was a time ... when it wasn't women's volley ball. It was Nebraska Football. And if they could have cloned Tom Osbourne it might still be that way.

Famous Fearless FishDuck Forecast for 2023 Ducks

Love the alliteration, Charles. Oh, and the optimism too. I thought I was going out on a shaky limb predicting 11 wins. Fearless is right! Go Ducks! -
It all comes down to numbers and $'s guys. Los Angeles (and So.California) is a heck of a lot bigger market than Eugene and the lower Willammette valley. Heck, that's a bigger market than our entire state - a couple of times over. If you think about it, Oregon is the huge over-achiever here, garnering the amount of respect it has against the likes of USC and UCLA.

Ha, ha. Eyesore, Eeyore, some say 'to-maw-toe' some say 'tu-may-toe' Spell check doesn't like Eeyore. Oregon wins 11 games in the regular season - barring any crucial injuries. Top 5 offense, top 10 defense.

See the “Famous FishDuck ManCave” Before it’s Gone…

But, you'll have another cave soon, right? Of course. -
Yes, gentlemen might be a stretch, esp. me. But I think the Utah elevation, time zone, fan atmosphere and last year's bad taste left in the mouth of the Utes fuel a vigor they'll bring to the field. Talent-wise it's almost a push and Utah always surprises teams that don't see them often. However, in listening in on the recent Whittingham interview it sounds like the Utes might have some injury issues. Otherwise, I'd not expect Florida to come out of Utah a winner. It'll be a fun one to watch. The bet's on...

Oregon just needs to win a National Championship. Then (and only then) will Oregon get the consideration (and discussion) it deserves. No matter how much we want things to be different, they don't work that way in the national media. Fair or not, that's life in American sports.

By confusing I mean that some friends are telling me only some of the Pac-12 games are on Sling Orange and some on Sling Blue. Knowing which is impossible to know in advance. Getting either just for the sake of hoping you get the Oregon games is a crap shoot. I don't care for the NFL games anymore - lost interest in them a few years back. Perhaps Sling Orange + Sports Extra? Geez... it'd be nice to be able to talk to a representative who could steer me in the right direction so I don't end up paying for channels I have no interest in watching. Just CFB and all the Oregon games since I usually only make one or two home games each year.
-
It looks like Fubo only shows Pac-12 Network games at the elevated 'Elite' or 'Ultimate' levels and not on the entry 'Pro" level. Sling my be a better (or at least more cost-effective?) choice. Next year, after Oregon goes to the Big 10, may be the time to reassess things and try YouTube. It's all so confusing, really.
-
And, does YouTube TV show Pac-12 Network games?
-
Thanks CP. But what about regular-season games first? Or, by "final season" games you mean the" final season of Pac-12 football", not just post season?
-
I have to laugh because Oregon fans (myself included) LOVE to dump on USC. Well, it's not like they aren't perfect targets for it, being all the Prima Donnas they are. But don't expect Riley's team to not get a lot better as the season goes on. They have the talent, the resources and the coaching. Now, if only Riley can get that 'cats train' of players all moving in the right direction at once. If he does, then watch out. If he can't then he was the wrong choice for the gig after all.

Colorado's Travis Hunter Responses to Lanning's Comment
Mic replied to Steven A's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Deion's biggest ACE in the hole is his fame as an NFL all-pro D-back and his limelight of a career (always over-blown, if you ask me) which gives him inside connections to various NFL teams. Compare him to Dan Lanning, for example. Which coach has the most inside dope on getting NFL scouts to look a player over? Dieon or Dan? Dan could be the best coach on the West Coast and it still wouldn't count as much with the scouts as Dieon calling a former teammate, buddy, coach (or all three) on the phone and lauding his own players. Kids will know or understand this, or they will certainly be informed about it at recruiting time. Bet on it. -
If this is an OK subject to broach: I ask the fans here what their preference is for watching CFB on television, Sling, Fubo, another network? I ask for a reason, I'm about to begin my subscription to one of the streaming providers soon because I actually broke-down and bought a TV finally after many years without one in my remote home. High-speed internet finally reached us here - for better or for worse - a few years back. Broadcast networks, if they still exist, do not reach us here.

Gentleman's bet Jon: Florida does not cover. In fact, Utah wins, even if it takes O.T. (Why not go out on a shaky limb to start the 2023 season?)
-
Without wanting to sound sarcastic or negative, I can well imagine those colossal schools inhabiting the Big 10 are much more excited abut Oregon And Washington joining the League than the other way around. Playing & competing with those huge programs on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis is far different than facing one of them in a single bowl game at the end of the season. I retain huge reservations about this whole expansion thing and have to trust the brain-trust of Oregon that they know what they're doing.

Colorado's Travis Hunter Responses to Lanning's Comment

Without any evidence to back up my statement I'd hazard another guess and that is: Colorado will finish higher than 2-10. 4-8 more likely. And added to that I'd also suggest that to some it may seem Colorado is going to be on the beneficiary side of referee calls - esp. during their home games. Human nature being what it is. In the long-run, I expect Sanders' team to be successful, assuming he stays put long enough to see things thru. -
Only when they deserve it. When under-rated due to media bias, we all hate it even though it 'could' be thought to offer incentive to the team to play harder. Which I tend to doubt in most cases - the 'Civil War' excepted. Say, Charles. Am I allowed to use the phrase "Civil War" on this forum? Or has that become verboten per University policy?
-
I don't pretend to have a clue what will happen to the 4 remaining teams but this I know: they all deserve respect. They did not deserve what's happened to them and it's a dirty, rotten shame (imo) this whole thing is going down the way it is. It's also, (again, my own opinion) a sad commentary on what's happening in America to collegiate amateurism and sports. In fact, I'm not certain I will ever be as enthused or excited about the Fall season rolling around as I have been for the past 50 years.
-
It's nice to see Oregon mentioned. A bit optimistic, but nice. No one will hear me complaining!
-
Here I must respectfully disagree with you. I do not believe it is ever proper to boo the refs (no matter how much I may want to at times). Currently, Oregon is going thru a referee crisis in that too few younger refs are joining the ranks than those leaving. The result is OSAA is experiencing a serious shortage and is having to actually cancel some sporting events. Among the reasons cited by referees for leaving or not recommending it to others is fan behavior. In fact, it is the MOST often cited reason.
