  1. An observation on playing freshmen who can: College kids normally get 4 years of eligible playing time. Top teer student athletes almost never play their 4th year of eligibility. Why redshirt a kid who will probably be gone after playing 3 years anyway? "If he's good enough to play, he's old enough to play." On Jurian Dickey: When you are as good as he is at getting open, catching the ball, and juking the defender out of his shoes... How much blocking do you [have to/get to] do in high school? Now, he is not the only guy who can catch the ball. Maybe he has a few more things to learn before he is a freshman who can. We will see him soon.
  2. Well, Steven took mine, so I´ll go with 20-14 Beavers.
  3. Great that they put Casey Rogers center stage after he took center stage last week against CU.
  4. To me, it doesn't matter who has the edge right now. I want to see the Oregon D be just as sharp and as tight at Stanford as they were last week. Improvement every week. Even if UW is ahead by a nose right now, they may still be behind by a length by game day. I expect to see Oregon in the winners' circle in two weeks.
  5. Bummer. I wanted them to win out. Get another year and come back! Pharoah Brown is still catching touchdowns in the NFL. YOU CAN DO IT! One more thing: Thank you, Tyler Shough, for devoting some of your best years to Oregon!
  6. Under the radar until/unless it beats WA, Utah, and USC. Then, if they do that, it's top 4/3. Nobody top 4 is under the radar. Win, and you are somebody; lose and "Who are you again?"
  7. This is weird. I have Oregon State vs WSU on ABC at 12:30.... and Oregon State vs WSU on Fox at 4:00. That's on Dish. How exciting. I'm recording both the OSU vs WSU games.
  8. We'll see what the O-line produces over the next couple of weeks. I think we will see improvement throughout the year.
  9. Oregon 52-13 2 TOs 5 sacks 321 passing yards
  10. This is certainly a fun thread... but if the team was thinking like us, they are looking past Hawaii.... Not good. Beat Hawaii... then focus on CU.
  11. Early in his tenure here, Stein said that he likes to go deep twice a quarter. Though 2 (no more, no less) is not a hard and fast rule, we've come real close to seeing that through 2 games. 8 deep shots in a game is more than the average bear puts up. (Yogi reference) 1st and 10 and 2nd and short are the most likely times to see such shots.
  12. Wilner has already said that he is and always has reported on the West Coast teams (west of the Rockies). He said that he only recently took on the PAC 12 name, and that he will be back to reporting on the West.
  13. I didn´t think it was defensive pass interference because it looked to me like the offensive player initiated the contact. After that, they were both just going for the ball.
  14. "One option has always been to use the financial assets, infrastructure and strong brand of the Pac-12 as a lure to invite the 12 Mountain West schools into the league for some type of amicable merger." This, to me, seems the best option for OSU and WSU.
  15. DUCKS 52-24 2 TO 3 SACKS 320 PASS Ty gets in the game.
  16. We'll have another looksee when Hawaii comes to town - not the cupcake that PSU was but an lesser opponent then we will see for the rest of the year. We will see how they manage starters, subs, and reps then. Get way ahead early and a lot of guys will see the field again.
  17. No pressure on him just because his team is up by 60??? I'd say he had all kinds of pressure. The fans have been talking down on him for two years. If he can't even perform against a team that is down 60 points he is totally done. That's pressure. There are 50,000 people in the stands and over a million more on TV - that's pressure. If he wasn't feeling any pressure it is because of far superior coaching from Will Stein - which I believe he got. Certainly after his first run - and hit - TT was looking comfortable. He did well. I think WS will continue to keep him on a good path.
  18. Count me as a Will Stein fan also... as QB coach. Not only did we see improvement in TT, but Novosad was night and day better than what we saw in the Spring Game. Granted Novosad only had the spring back then, but still, he looked confident and put the ball where it needed to be last Saturday. If TT and AN continue to improve throughout the season, with several opportunities to contribute, and if Will Stein stays with the Ducks for a few years, then we can put to rest the idea that the Ducks will need to continue to poach the Portal for its starting QBs. We want to recruit good QBs out of high school and develop them into D1 superstars.
  19. "It could have gone either way."
  20. If Cal beats Auburn, THEY will be in the top 25 next week.
  21. I thought that his runs really helped his confidence. He needed to be hit. Sometimes getting hit as a QB knocks the fear right out of you and puts the confidence in. The QBs are wearing "don't hit me" red jerseys all the time. The only people that are allowed to hit them are on the opposing teams. Months of practice go by without having to absorb a hit. Great job Ty!
