  1. I can hear Cristobal talking to a QB 5* recruit now: "Come to Miami and prosper in the NFL! I'm the guy that developed JH into the QB he is today."
  2. I thought this meant the end of his career, but the same thing happened on the USC team last summer and the athlete played again for the team 6 months later. That is amazing. If Lebron's goal stays intact, Bronny will have to... ???
  3. Honoring a scholarship, offered and accepted, should be just like the buyout cost when a coach is fired. When a coach is hired, both parties agree to terms for a (say, 4-5 year) contract. There is a buyout for the coach if he wants to leave, and there is a buyout for the school if they want to fire him. In the athlete's case, the buyout for the student is the risk of losing a scholarship altogether by not hooking up in the portal, while the buyout for the school who wants to "fire" him should definitely be the honoring of the student's scholarship agreement 4-5 years or sooner at graduation.
  4. No place to go but up. What's intriguing to me is how the fanbase is so completely optimistic, as if Colorado was already back on the national scene and will put up double digit wins this year. Most rebuilds are slow. Ask my wife... she's been working on me for 47 years. I like the confidence. The PAC is strong this year so it's going to be hard for them to get back into a bowl game. It looks like that is what they are expecting.
  5. Right after I wrote it, I realized that this will happen several times in the 12 team playoff future... especially in the SEC and the B1G. Going with this scenario, It will be possible for top teams in a conference to play each other 3 times in a year: 1 regular conference play, 1 conference championship, 1 playoff (if both win until they meet).
  6. OR OSU can beat Oregon in the rivalry game and then Oregon wins in Vegas. Everyone says it´s hard to beat a team twice in one year (ask the 2012 LSU team). ¿Which of the two would you rather lose? If they were both undefeated going into the rivalry game and split the two games on consecutive weekends, They would both be 12-1. Could they both get an invitation to the invitational???
  7. No craziness... just Ducks and Beavs playing really well every Saturday.
  8. How about Ducks and Beavs in Vegas for the title???
  9. Totally right. When game day comes along, I just want to know what channel to find the Ducks. The reason folks are obsessed with them is three-fold. For a few years now we have been noticing (and stressing) about how much more the SEC schools were getting in media money each year in comparison to everyone else. The B1G just got a new media deal and poached two PAC 12 teams with it. We see the ACC stuck in a bad media deal and then strike another deal with someone else that will help out some. (The new deal, of course, came after everyone's obsession, but it still fuels the fire somewhat.)
  10. Of course Oregon has an easier schedule!!! They don't have to play Oregon.
  11. I think it is somewhat crazy to think that either Dan Lanning or Jonathan Smith is anything right now but untouchable.
  12. I thought it might be for a whole suite, not just a single seat.
  13. The last line in the article is what got my attention: "If that’s not impressive, also know that Markley got along well with Chip Kelly." What??? a media type guy that got along with Chip Kelley??? No wonder he mentioned it!
  14. Family!!! Dylan Williams, 4-star linebacker, commits to Oregon Ducks WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Four-star linebacker Dylan Williams chose Oregon over Michigan State, Miami, UCLA and Washington.
  15. I would keep things mostly as they were last year. Rotate and keep guys fresh. If the freshmen deserve the snaps, they can have the ones that Dollars and others took last year. I loved the way Dollars and Whittington blocked for each other when they were on the field together. You've also got the Go-Go option.
  16. These records reveal the REAL reason the Trojans are leaving the PAC. Their win percentage in Autzen is holding on by a thread. If they stay in the PAC, they will most likely have a losing record at Autzen before we get to 2030... probably a lot sooner. What self-respecting Trojan fan could stomach that?
  17. I have always rooted for the team that beat my team to go all the way. That way, who's to say that my team isn't second best? Georgia repeating last year made the opening loss not sting so bad, especially being the first game for a new coach, new system, etc.
  18. This is very sad. I hope it doesn't affect his ability to coach in any way. We want a strong PAC.
  19. With the current trajectory at OSU (since JS arrived), they have a real chance to be in the post season picture. OSU football, men's BB, and women's BB all have reasonable shots at post season play and would benefit from unequal shares of post season money.
  20. You can encourage students to be involved in a community of faith without giving any direction as to which faith. Every now and then I hear on the radio (non-religious) about benefits of belonging to a community of faith... ANY faith.
  21. I wonder if the LA schools tried to join the B1G in football and basketball only, to stay in the PAC for the other sports???? It would have been a lot less travel, a lot cheaper, and a lot easier on the STUDENT/athletes.
